New pirate makeover experience!

We are going in Dec. and we haven't made a ressie for this yet, do you think there is still availability? Both my DDs have don't BBB twice and want to be Pirate Princesses now!!

Is there a link that shows what all of the options are? I'd like to show my kids, but I don't think they will sit patiently through 622+ posts :rotfl2: I went to the disneyworld site and it doesn't show all of the options. I have the first mate and empress packages booked. Thanks!

We were at PL on 9/4. We had a reservation for 4:15 and got there at about 4:15. The PL had been very empty the day before so I didn't think it would be a problem. Big mistake. It was packed due to MNSSHP. I met Pirate Brenna at the check in desk. She said it might be about at 20 minute wait and then approx. 30-40 minutes for the entire experience. I was panicked because we had 5:15 dinner reservations at LTT. Both Brenna and another Pirate discussed it and said they would try to do their best to get us out in time. I really felt for them because the PL was jam packed. What a difference from the day before. They were able to get us in and out with time to spare and I'm eternally grateful. I must also mention that even though it was definitely a full house, at no time did we feel rushed. Every CM was wonderful, from Pirate Brenna and her fellow Pirates at the front desk, to the Pirate performing the makeovers, the photographer and the CMs at the cash registers at the end. Job well done and much appreciated CMs! :cheer2:

Well, we were called and my reluctant 13 year old DD went in. She received her pirate name and was off to be made over. Pirate Katie was given the unenviable task of making my daughter over and trying to get her to enjoy it at the same time. Katie was helped by another Pirate girl who left before our makeover was complete. During the makeover I spoke with a gentleman, who I believe was a manager, and we laughed about how my daughter was really making the CM's work for their pay and begrudgingly enjoying the experience. :) I also told him I had heard about PL from the DIS and how helpful Pirate Brenna was with our never ending list of questions and concerns. She really should get some recognition for her role in promoting the PL. Yeah Brenna! :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: During my DD's makeover Pirate Nick and another Pirate (I wish I could remember his name), frequently came over and talked to my daughter, laughed and joked with her and even gave her a hidden Mickey on her arm (three black dots). He also gave her a black dot (a big spot of black makeup on a paper towel). They all howled and carried on as if that was the funniest thing. I thought it was funny too, although I wasn't really sure why. :rotfl: I cannot express to you the gratitude I felt for how they took it upon themselves to make sure she had a good time, inspite of herself. She finally loosened up and played along, even doing the hook finger while taking her pirate oath. Never once did they come out of character. Pirate Nick even cracked about how my DD was "hitting on him" when she accidently hit him in the leg with her sword. :rotfl: They were an absolutely fantastic bunch of CMs who really love their jobs and made it a wonderful experience for a self-conscious teenager. She even finally announced that on a scale of 1-10, she thought BBB (which we did last year) was a 2, while PL was an 8. I think that's high praise for a teen. :thumbsup2 She said PL was much more fun and even talked about what a good time she had, later on that night. I think she felt a little uncomfortable because there seemed to be plenty of children and adults, but no other teens. If teens didn't always take themselves so seriously, they would definitely enjoy this experience.

The $50 fee included all of the following: make up application (you keep the lipgloss and nail polish), a sheet of jeweled body stickers (they put one on and you keep the rest), an eye patch, a bandana, a hoop earring, a sheath, a sword, a pirate medallion, and a 5 x 7 picture and a parchment that shows your pirate name and which has a copy of the pirate oath each new recruit takes. There were many other parts of the experience that were priceless -- the professionalism, helpfulness, and genuine love of their jobs and the memories we'll have forever. A very big thank you to Pirates Katie, Nick and the two other unnamed CMs I couldn't remember the names of. Even though I don't remember your names, you have my unending gratitute and respect for a sometimes tough job! You're all fabulous.

Just a quick shout-out for Pirate Nick. He did DD's makeover on July 12 and was so much fun. He had a 9-year old girl to please, who is quite shy and was a little freaked out by a "boy" doing her makeup. He did ballet for her and joked around a lot with her. He joked afterwards that it was like doing a makeover for a little sister. So, I have on her scrapbook page a reference to brothers and sisters. That's a pretty big deal since she's an only child. If I could get my photo stuff to work, I would post a picture. But it's just NOT! So, if anyone gets Nick as their pirate, I know you'll have a great time just like the others in the thread just before me.

okay, you got me! I booked DS today for later this month:cool1::cool1: I wasn't convinced until I read this thread. Can't wait!!:goodvibes

Yep - you should be good to make a ressie for December!

There are a lot of random posts with different pictures... is there anything specific you're looking for? In my blog I have myself with each of the six faces - they are also in my signature.

I'm glad everything worked out. Working the Quartermaster's desk is a little intense (especially on that day) so I'm sorry I wasn't able to chat more. As I'm sure you discovered, we were a little "over booked" for the party to see how we would handle it and what they should book us at in the future.

I'm glad you had such a wonderful experience with Nick and Katie - I will pass on your comments to them!

Haha - YAY!

Can't wait...We were able to bumb up his ressie to 4:10p on the 22nd of this month(it had been 10am and I wasn't so sure about that)...but this is perfect for his b-day and the MNSSHP!

A follow-up to my earlier post on our daughter's pirate makeover.

We stopped by a week later to take some pictures framing my daughter in the entryway to the Pirate's League. Pirate Molly happened to come out, and she greeted our daughter like a long lost relative, by her new pirate name, no less, and this was a full week later!

(By the way, Nick did the first part of ours and he is hilarious too. Ask him about the cannonball embedded in the wall behind the counter.)

Then when I tried to take the pictures, everytime I was about to snap it one to three CM pirates would rush in and pose behind. Hilarious!

When they are not busy they open the doors toward the shop and interact with guests... always taking note when a past pirate makeover guest comes by and their membership sign is visible.

Two of the women CMs were sitting on something in the shop right by the exit from PoTC, holding a still life pose very well. I watched several people approach to see if they were real and then leap about 10 feet when they spoke or moved. Very funny!

Yeah, I'm so excited! I was able to bump our appointment up on the night of our MNSSHP date. Originally we were booked for 3:15, but now we have 4:25. :thumbsup2

I apologize if this has been asked before but...

I know there is some policy about adults not being able to wear costumes in the park unless it is Halloween. We had originally planned for only the kids to do the Pirate League. Then my husband was talked into it by the kids. I didn't want to be the only one who didn't do it so...now we all have an ADR on Nov 30. I have costumes already for the kids and had planned to get simple ones for my DH and I, but I am not sure if we would be allowed to wear them.

Does anyone know if they allow this?:confused3

Adults can only wear costumes for the special events, like the Christmas party and Halloween party.

Brenna- I was just wondering how far in advance you get your schedule, just wondering we have an appt for our DD9 and DS5 on November 15 @ 9a...just wondering if you are working!!

I have to tell you, my DD did this on our trip Aug 24th. She did the glam pirate with the pink dress. I have to tell you, it was by far THE SINGLE BEST EXPERIENCE we have ever had at disney. Yes, the camera broke 3 times, but the CM gave us double pictures for free. My DD absolutely loved it! When you go into the secret room and open the chest for the necklase, I thought she was going to die. We did it on a Tuesday, left WDW Saturday for the Disney Magic, she never took off that necklase until we had to go through security at MCO to get home the following week, she wore it for two weeks. She locked it in the room safe at night because it was from Captain Jack Sparrow. She wore the outfit around the park for the entire day, wore it on the ship for pirate night and will wear it again for Halloween. Kudos to WDW and the entire Pirate League crew for an amazing experience. Worth EVERY penny and then some. Here's a pic from pirate night on the ship....

We sell pirate shirts for adults at The Pirates League that you would be allowed to wear. The rule for no costumes comes from kids confusing characters with guests in costume (any kind). If you just have a shirt it would be fine - but I would be wearily of anything that involves the entire body.

I get my schedule two weeks in advance on Sundays... so my schedule for the 15th will be posted on Nov. 1st. I currently work Tu-F, but that is going to change within the next month so be sure to ask again!

What a wonderfully adorable story!!

Ok - so we are headed to Disney 9/29 and have appointment for my girls to get empress makeovers at the Pirate League right before the MNSSHP on 10/1. I was not planning on getting the pirate dress at the League to save money and I honestly can't decide if i like it or if my girls would. Here is something I found on Etsy that I think is adorable:

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29652339

I think with the bandana and makeup, etc - it would be really cute with a black tshirt. My only thought is will my girls be disappointed they are not in a regular costume? We are surprising them with this trip so I can't get their opinion. Is the pink dress I have seen the only one they have at the Pirates League? Any thoughts or advice from those who have had makeovers and/or been to MNSSHP? Do ALL the kids have on real costumes?

Thanks for any input!!!

So are the 9 a.m. times hard to get? I have to make my ressies Monday morning and am having my mom call for this one while I call for BBB. Just wondering if they were very competitive yet?

Thanks! We are so excited for him to get to have something for him!
