New pirate makeover experience!

Would someone please post some pictures of boys that have been made up?I would like to show our 7 year old and let him try and pick out which one he likes before we get there. He already has a appointment and has seen the pictues of the faces but I'd like for him to be able to see some boys either with the costumes purchased there or ones that they took to WDW.Also please post any places to look online for costumes at a good price. One last question,do they come in a 14-16 size for boys or how are they sized? Most things are too long and we always have to get them fixed.Any help would be great,we leave Oct.1st and his appointment is Oct 6th before the halloween party. Thanks

Ok - so we are headed to Disney 9/29 and have appointment for my girls to get empress makeovers at the Pirate League right before the MNSSHP on 10/1. I was not planning on getting the pirate dress at the League to save money and I honestly can't decide if i like it or if my girls would. Here is something I found on Etsy that I think is adorable:

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29652339

I think with the bandana and makeup, etc - it would be really cute with a black tshirt. My only thought is will my girls be disappointed they are not in a regular costume? We are surprising them with this trip so I can't get their opinion. Is the pink dress I have seen the only one they have at the Pirates League? Any thoughts or advice from those who have had makeovers and/or been to MNSSHP? Do ALL the kids have on real costumes?

Thanks for any input!!!

We are going on 10/1 also....our pirate appts are at 1:30. My girls (ages 5, 7) are wearing pink t's (target) with a glittery skull/cross bone ironed on (got the iron on applique at Hobby Lobby). They are also wearing black skirts (I just cut the bottoms of the skirts to be jaggedy). The makeover is a surprise, they love face painting.

I think they will be more comfy in the t's than in the pirate costume all night. Lots of kids dress up and lots of kids just wear disney T's....so I think we will be in the "middle". We are going on the cruise afterwards and plan on wearing the same outfits for pirate night too.

See you in three weeks!!!!!

I just made an appt for DD7 on Nov 17th. She loves pirates and is a total tomboy so taking her to BBB would have not made her happy at all :) She's going to love this.

The experience without costume is $50 and we added the pink costume to bring it to a total of $107 (so I think it may have been $50 plus tax.)

The pink outfit is the only "girly" outfit but there is at least one other that girls can pick that looks good on them - just not girly.

My daughter also locked up her "treasure" in our safe each night. Great stuff.

We are not sure if we should do the full $125 package or just bring our own pirate clothes and get the $50 package. This is for Mom, Dad, and 4 year old son.

Are the costumes nice quality (cotton/polyester, not plastic)? Are the costumes available for purchase (in addition to the $50 package) in adult sizes too? I saw photos of some at the link below. Is it the same costumes for children and adults?

We might bring our own pirate shirts and pants.... saw some stuff online like at www.dresslikeapirate.com If we do that, I think the $50 package might be fine.

I've read almost every page on this thread... I also called Disney at (407) WDW-CREW (939-2739) three times but no one there knows anything about the Buccaneer Girl or whether I can purchase costumes in addition to the $50 package.... and whether the $125 package has more choices than cursed pirate, hook, and capt. jack.

I appreciate any help or photos.... Thank you so much!!!

The costumes at the link you provided are just for children. Our adult shirt is pictured on this page: http://www.stitchkingdom.com/2009/0...-experience-tour-and-photo-gallery/#more-2941

Yes, you can purchased the costumes in addition to the $50 package instead of upgrading to a Captain's package. The costs vary based on the specific costume. The biggest difference is that the captain's package has two additional photos so by only adding on the attire you would only get the one.

The costumes are made out of cotton/polyester, not plastic.

What would you like to know about the Buccaneer? You can see an image of it on the link I provided as well.

The Captain's package only comes with the Hook, Jack, Cursed... However, we also have the Grand Empress package which is equivalent to the Captain's package for the girls. The cost for the Grand Empress varies (110-123) based on the costume added. The Grand Empress does include three photos.

what is included with the captain jack outfit? It looks like just a shirt, does it have the pants and hat? or hat with hair? or something else? my DS7 will be so surprised to do this (i haven't told him yet). We have our appointment the day after Thanksgiving. Hope to see you Brenna. pirate: TIA

My 3 Grandsons just love this and have already asked if they can do this again. We booked this for around noon time, and we heard pirate talk the rest of the day.

Too cute! My three boys have an appointment for my middle son's b'day (6th) on Oct 17. Thanks for sharing the photo!

Pirate Brenna or anyone,

We will be bringing our own costumes in for our boys. Should be bring the hats as well, or just let them all wear the bandanas? My two older boys have Capt Jack type costumes that have hats with the dredlocks. I'm sure my 4 yo will want to be Capt Hook, which kind of requires the hat don't you think?

We were just planning to bring in a duffle bag containing the costumes and surprise them with the makeover while we are at MK.

One more question, can you use the birthday fun card at TPL?

Thanks for any advice!

What are the adult costume choices for men? Is Captain Jack the only costume? I'd rather something other than the dreadlocks hat.... just a pirate shirt, pants, a belt or sash, and a pirate hat (without hair). Plus the makeup -- maybe smokey eyed jack.....

For Women, is the buccaneer girl outfit in adult sizes? Any other choices?

Thanks for your help... Pirates League sounds like an incredibly fun
experience!

Adult "costumes" are just shirts. Technically adults cannot wear costumes in the parks during regular hours, so they only offer shirts. The can however wear them for the parties.

I going off the top of my head - it comes with an undershirt, pants, the blue vest, a belt/sash thing, the wrap around cloth, boots, and hat with hair.

A lot of people have their own costumes with a hat, we'll still give them the bandana in their treasure bag so they can change it later in the day if they'd like.

Yep!

The Pirate shirt is the only option for adult women and men, to purchase the shirt alone is $34. We do not sell any pants that are pirate themed for adults. Each package comes with a belt and there are hats available to purchase that do not have the dreadlocks.

If you're thinking of doing the smokey eye look, then I would recommend adding on the pirate shirt and pirate hat. DO NOT UPGRADE to a Captain's package because it comes with the dreadlock hat, which it sounds like you do not want.

If you're thinking of doing the Empress, then you may upgrade to the Grand Empress (which includes two additional portraits) and then add a Hat on as well.

Hope that helps!

This rule has changed a little - adults can wear costumes as long as they are not easily confused as Disney characters. We had a full grown adult running around as Tinker Bell today, and it was not a party.

I am so excited! We will be in the PL on 9/22 before we go to MNSSHP! I can't wait!
Brenna - Thank you so much for all the information you have given to us! I hope we see you on Tuesday!

Thanks for the information - my son has 3 or 4 different styled captain jack outfits and hats with and without dreadlocks, but he loves to wear them - so i guess we will be getting a new one at TPL.
