Just sent you a request. I am Jannel.

So.... the ride Dinosaur.... scary? Is there a photo during the ride? The look on my 5 year olds face of sheer terror might be worth it (I'm not a terrible parent, I swear!).

Yes, there is a photo during the ride, and yes the ride is scary. A huge, scary tyrannosaurus jumps out of the dark and roars right above the passengers. It is very scary. :scared1:

We're getting close to actually being at WDW, I haven't been since '98 (w/ my older kids) and it just hit me today that I'll be seeing the joy on the kids faces. My eyes got a little misty. I can remember getting misty eyed the last time we walked into MK and the kids were so excited.
Please tell me I'm not the only one to get misty eyed when being at WDW???
Lucky for me I'll have sunglasses on to hide my wet eyes;)

You are not the only one. I get misty eyed every time we go and I see the castle for the first time of the trip. I also cry when we leave.

Isn't that why we take the kids, to see their joy and excitement? :lovestruc

We will be there with our grandchildren, age 3 and 5, and can't wait to see their excitement at being at WDW. The three year old won't remember the trip, but I will. :cloud9:

It's the first time taking my boys and I am beyond excited!!
My first trip was when I was 28, it was my Mom's first trip too after a lifetime of wanting to go and seeing her face when she saw the castle was amazing - my boys are going to have to work hard to top that memory!! :lmao:

Update on my photopass situation! I posted to the main board too, but it gets buried fast lol. Anyways I called the photopass #, told them I had regular PP, wanted to upgrade to PP+ but didn't have 2 weeks lead time. She asked if I had booked my trip through Disney and I said yes. She told me to call the reservation line and have it added to my package, and then she refunded my regular PP. She was right, I called the line and you can add Photopass+ at the pre-order discount to your package up to 2 days before you leave and get the voucher when you check in! I just gave her a credit card for the difference. So if you're less than 2 weeks out and need to order it (and you booked your vacation through Disney) then there is still hope. From everything I had read I thought I was SOL.

I just called and added the photo pass + to my reservation. Do you remember what the total cost was? I was expecting it to be $149 but it came up to $158 and change. Tax I assume?? It didn't look like pre ordering on the website charged tax ??

I know this sounds crazy but start taking a daily Tagamet (the acid reducer) while everyone is sick. It's a total immune system booster, who knew?!

interesting, I take prescription Previcid for my acid reflux, you think it would do the same or is it something in particular in Tagemet?

I checked my invoice from when I bought pp+ in October, and they charged me $149.00.

Prevacid is a proton pump inhibitor (I used to take it) and Tagamet is an H2 blocker. Here is the difference - from About.com:

Question: How Are Proton Pump Inhibitors Different from H2 Blockers?
Answer: Both Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) and H2 Blockers suppress gastric acid secretion. They are, however, different in how they do this. While PPIs shut down the cell pumps that maintain the acidic environment in the stomach, H2 Blockers work by blocking signals generated by histamine receptors on cells that are responsible for acid secretion.

PPIs have a delayed onset of action, while H2 blockers begin working within an hour. PPIs work for a longer period of time; most last up to 24 hours, and the effects may last up to three days. H2 Blockers, however, usually only work up to 12 hours.

Basically, you would take a proton pump inhibitor for a period of time if you have GERD, or some other chronic condition. You would take an H2 blocker for occasional heartburn. :)
That is probably more than you wanted to know. ;)

It's something about the main ingredient, Cimetidine, that people are discovering can help your immune system.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2657245

"Most data suggest that cimetidine has a stimulatory action on the immune system, possibly by blocking of receptors on subsets of T-lymphocytes and inhibiting histamine-induced immune suppression. Several studies have shown that cimetidine can affect the relative number of CD8 + ve lymphocytes and increase the NK cell activity as well as the antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. Cimetidine has also been used successfully to restore immune functions in patients with malignant disorders, hypogammaglobulinemia and AIDS-related complexes."

Oh you're right, she said there would be taxes and I forgot that the original purchase didn't charge tax. I wonder if we should call back? How strange! Well still better than the full price I suppose :\

4 more sleeps (well I won't be sleeping the 4th night - flight leaves super early) Countdown is definitely on!! This is a surprise to our kids so it has been hard keeping it quiet at home.

no thanks appreciate the info, find it very interesting..even though I have to take something everyday, this may be something good for DH's occasional heartburn!:)

Not sure why I haven't seen this thread before, but we fly down from Buffalo on Feb 6 (my birthday!) and home on Feb 12th. We are staying at POR. This will be our first time on site with the DDP with our kids (dh and I have stayed at Wilderness Lodge on our honeymoon and at POFQ before we had kids). We are excitedly counting down the days!!! :cool1:
