This September was suppose to be my first cruise ever. Our plans had to change because I am pregnant and due in July. We are thrilled for our second baby, but instead of canceling the whole cruise... we have 4 staterooms with my parents and siblings with their spouses... I will be staying on disney property with the baby while my husband and son go on the cruise, and my mother- in-law will go on the cruise in my place. We have already gotten everything switched. Their cruise is a 7 day cruise.

We plan to do park days before they go on the cruise (our first trip with my mother-in-law). I know I can pack for myself just fine, but because my husband and son will be going on the cruise I know I need to make sure to do the research for my husband on packing because he is the night before kind of packer and it stresses me out. I also am the one to pack for our son on trips so im trying to get all the tips early before baby gets here and I can pre-plan as much as possible.

Shortly after our trip we will also have to plan our son's 5th birthday! haha once June hits I feel like its one thing after another.

I’d pack a separate larger suitcase that’s only for the cruise for your husband and son that doesn’t get opened while you’re at WDW. Have a separate toiletries/med bag too that he can throw into this travel backpack to bring his personal items onto the ship. That way they only have to deal with the one luggage and their backpacks to get on the ship and the rest can stay with you and then nothing meant for the cruise gets left at WDW. You don’t say how long they will be with you at WDW but I assume if it’s only 3-4 days a carry on can be used for all of their WDW clothes. If you plan on doing laundry at WDW because you are staying a lot longer then this plan isn’t so great. I’m sad you will have to miss the cruise but hopefully you will enjoy your bonding time with the new baby at WDW just as much.

There are packing suggestions on DCL website. Want to pack multiple swimsuits. Pirate gear- there’s a pirate night. If it is a Halloween on High seas cruise, want to pack a Halloween costume. 7 nights will have a formal night so a pair of khakis and nicer shirt especially if the family wants to take a big group picture.

Want to bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, non prescription medicine for motion sickness, upset stomach etc - these are super expensive onboard if you have to buy them in the gift shop.

Make sure to keep all travel documents, passports, extra cash, prescriptions in a bag that they carry on. The checked luggage gets dropped off later outside your cabin. Once on the ship room aren’t ready until around 130 pm so you have to take your carry on with you.
