***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

Please - I need help for someone who has made FP+ for a group that is on separate reservations.

I am the only planner for a group of 7. We are on three separate reservations.

There's my reservation, and I am pretty familiar with MDE from our recent trip.

My sister has her own package and her own MDE account, which she doesn't know how to use and doesn't want to learn!

My parents have their own package but do not have an MDE account.

Would it be best for me to manage all their MDE accounts myself (making one for my parents) to make FP+ separately, and try to get the times together? Or is this done by Linking Family & Friends on my account only? How does this make it to their MDE account??? DOES it make to do their MDE acct??

SO CONFUSED!! Thanks for any help. :worship:

I think I've encountered my first MDE bug. I re-booked the Fantasmic dining package, after hearing about the diminished value of Fantasmic FP+. Then I changed my FP from Fantasmic to GMR. But that new FP isn't showing up in my itinerary. I'm only seeing my TSM and TOT Fps. It will let me start over from scratch picking 3 new FP+s, but I'm not crazy about that because I don't want to lose the particular times I have for TSM and TOT.

Is this one of those situations where you just keep checking back and eventually the GMR one will eventually show up? I need to be able to change the time, because I don't want to have a GMR FP for during Fantasmic.

Logout and back in sometimes that helps and yes I have seen it update later.. Check on web page and not the MDX also..

I'm glad I can't do much of anything right now. Assuming FP+ is rolled out completely or testing at our resort in late January, I'm hoping more of the bugs will be worked out. I linked tickets to my MDE account with no trouble. The only issue is I won't be using those tickets now. The classes for the Disney YES program were released and I signed my kids up for a class. I can't pick up the YEP tickets until we arrive and I hate the idea of waiting until then to make any FP+ reservations.

At this point, my plan is to keep the other passes linked to make FP+ reservations (I assume I'd have to call IT to get them unlinked), but use the YES passes to get in the parks. Even if I'm able to link the YES tickets with the registration code I'm supposed to receive 30 days before we arrive, I'm leery of calling IT to do anything with the reports I've read of things reservations appearing and disappearing. As far as I can tell, the YES tickets can't be linked to the magic bands (even if you have them linked to an MDE account). I just don't want to risk burning any of my park passes that I won't be using because they're linked to my MDE account. As long as I don't use the magic band for park entry, I should be okay, right? Or would I not be able to use the FP+ reservations I've made because I didn't use those passes for park entry?

So, what is the current roll-out/ testing like? I thought most resorts were being invited to test but a friend going on Nov 8 staying at Contemporary received a message in MDE that I have never seen or heard of before:

I searched the thread and didn't find anything about whether the first- or second-generation Kindle Fires work with DME. Are there any downsides to using such an old device or one that is married to Amazon.com like these?

Last I heard, MDX still could not be installed on Android tablets via normal channels. Plus, they lack a GPS, which the application makes use of while you are in the park (although that feature isn't strictly needed).

not sure if I have the second gen Kindle Fire or not; I have the 7" Kindle Fire HD purchased last December? I made all my FP+ reservations at home on my computer but brought the Kindle Fire to WDW and was able to MDE to make changes at the resort, I did not take it into the parks; used the kiosks if I wanted to makes changes during the day. I didn't have any more trouble on the Kindle than the computer.

I found the app in the Kindle app store

I have rec'd our MB's for our upcoming Nov trip -- I was able to book FP+'s for the time we have the pkg but we were hoping to pick our tickets up a day early when we have a room only reservation. Can we still do that w/ having the MB's? Is it possible to make FP+s for that earlier day?

Cool...glad to know it's working on at least some tablets then. Just ran into this whole "second generation" thing ourselves as we got a Kindle Fire HD for my daughter, and I still don't know what a "second generation" unit is exactly.

I believe you should still be able to get your tickets a day early (see the ticket sticky on what needs to be done), but you may have to use the physical ticket that day, not entirely sure. But you can't make FP+ selections unless your room-only stay qualifies. If it is at a Disney resort, however, it should.

I don't either :confused3. but had installed the app before we left and was using it. Was thrilled that it did work as we changed around a couple of our days and it was very convenient to be able to change FP+ the night before. No smartphone so the Kindle was my only option.

Thank you -- I was able to get in briefly to FP+ selections a little while ago and today is the first time I've seen the ability to select days earlier than our pkg. but when I went to make a selection an error message came up that they were having problems and to try again later. We are staying at AOA on Day 1 just to experience it and see if it might be an option for our family in the future.

Added: Ok - I finally got into the system and after clicking "Try Again" several times received the message that "We're Sorry!
You are not eligible to make FastPass+ plans for your Friends and Family members on this date." And by our names it says that we would need valid park admission.

So, guess if we decide to see about a day earlier admission we'll go it without FP+

I am doing this as well for a Dec trip. Right off make sure Disney has your reservations linked Do not try to link a res to your profile unless you are on it! A CM said that it was fine but it was not!! Messed all kinda things up! After an hr+ call to IT getting that straight we just made her an acct and she allowed me access to set it all up. She wants nothing to do with computers. Had to do this for another in our party too!
Make sure each going have MDE accts and have invited each other to "friends and family". each person in the party needs profile set for everyone to "see and change all" I am not sure how to set up kids managed by an adult acct. I suspect even if it is managed by an adult it can be set for you to "see and change all" this setting under each profile is necessary for one person to do FP for everyone. It was not that hard to do once I got finished signing in out in out of 3 accts to invite and accept all to "friends and family" was a breeze to set up FP+. If I've just made this clear as mud PM me.

I'm going to bump this in hope that more people will bring their discussion of FP+ here rather than starting the three hundredth thread about it. I'm sure it won't work but it's worth a shot.

LOL actually I have a MB question (and I'm struggling with disliking myself for having to ask it!)

Have MB, have made FP+ selections all is well.

We have APs (which yes, I will bring as well) and an onsite resort reservation (will be down there in 10 days). This is our first trip with MB (in September our resort was not part of the test group)

Main plan was to arrive, check into the resort then go to Epcot.

QUESTIONS:

IF we're running late (planning on arriving in the area around 10 am) can we go directly to Epcot and have someone activate the bands there?

Or are they basically ready to go for the parks and just need activating in terms of resort room number?

I'm assuming if we enter with our regular APs we won't be able to use our FP+ selections later that day.... correct?

Thanks!

I believe that they must be activated at your resort though I'm not 100% sure so hopefully someone else has better information.

Well, your AP is tied to your band so regardless of if you enter with your AP or your band, you'll still be able to use your FP+s. That said, I believe you need your band to gain entry into the FP+ line.

thanks! Hopefully someone else knows but it's so early on in the whole thing. I could try calling and sit on hold for forever ....somehow that doesn't sound appealing!

We're going to Epcot in the morning/ early afternoon and then DHS to catch Osborne Lights and use our FP+ selections. If I don't have any solid info by the time we arrive - I'll try to activate them at Epcot and if that doesn't work we'll hop over to the resort before going to DHS (assuming we don't go there first thing in the morning).

MB do not require "activation". The are working when they arrive at your house. If your AP is linked, it should work at the park. You will need to check in for room key and charging access.

I was there last week - and this information was absolutely correct for me!!
