Disbug-I can't wait to get my new mug!!!!:Pinkbounc

I hate to ask a dumb question here but what are the meal vouchers that people keep referring to? Are they something that you can purchase in advance or are they part of a package?

Thanks,

Joanne
:earsgirl:

Only one day back at school and I am OFF today! There was a water main break at my school so school was called off. Fun for now but it won't be fun in June when we have to make up the day in my sweltering classroom!

Happy Tuesday!

Disbug....I hope that your DD improves so she can avoid another hospital stay {{hugs}} prayers and pixie dust are headed your way!

I forget to ask when the sorority meet is planned for?? :)

I hate to be a pain but I have yet another question:

My DH wants info on the Internet connection at the Swan. What does he need to bring? Is is included in the room charges or is there a separate fee? Do you have to pay for a phone call each time you connect?

Thanks to all for your help in advance!

Unfortunately - my team won't be playing there until next season!!!

Deserve answers!

The vouchers that are being discussed are the Quick and Casual and the Vacation Kingdom Lunch and Dinner vouchers. The Q/C cost about $11.25 to $12 each and are good at various counter service locations throughout the parks and resorts and have the best value at Beaches N Cream (YC/BC), Mara's (AKL), Tangerine Cafe (Epcot: Morrocco)....

How do you go about purchasing the vouchers?

Also, any idea on my Internet questions posted earlier? Anyone?

Thanks,

Joanne

Jmcross ~ You can find plenty of information on the vouchers on the budget board. There is a thread towards the top, it explains the vouchers. Here is a link to a place where you can purchase the vouchers ... http://www.hotwiresavingsclub.com/hsc/index.asp
I can't help you on the internet at the Dolphin, I am sure DF will check in later and be able to help you.

Muffy ~ I am so glad to read your reports "live" from the Dolphin. Did you use any Kid lunch vouchers at Le Cellier? I am hoping for no problems with our vouchers. We have ressies at Rainforest Cafe, San Angel Inn, Mama Melrose and plan to use the vouches at these restaurants. Keep the post coming :)

Welcome Home ZW give us details when you can...:)

Disbug ~ How is DD today?

:teeth: so cute ::yes::

Waving to the room...

Mom Poppins~Thanks for the voucher info! I'll check it out.:teeth:

I'm sure someone knows the answer to the Internet question.

Thanks,

Joanne

JMCross: The internet question....

You just have to hook up your computer to the cable. It just has to be an ethernet connection (a bit bigger than a phone cable connector). It is included in your resort fee. There are directions on the desk to tell you how to set it up. It is VERY easy! I loved every minute of it.

Mom Poppins, My DD is 13 so she used an adult voucher. I have heard mixed comments about LeCellier letting kids order appetizers and dessert off the reg menu. It seems to be hit or miss. They clearly include appetizers and desert on the vouchers so I would point that out. We used 2 more vouchers today at the Brown Derby. We did not have one problem with them. We sometimes use 2 vouchers for the 3 of us. It depends how hungry we are! The kingdom lunch vouchers are great. Club level this evening served mini rubens, cape cod chips, cheese crackers, fruit platter, vegi.'s/dip, huge oatmeal and cho chip cookies, soda, water, tea and coffee. I know your vacation is around the corner! I'm sure your Platinum SPG will get you a nice suite with CL! All is well at the Dolphin!

Waving to everyone!

Muffy

Today marks the 12th day of Christmas...the visit of the THREE KINGS/WISE MEN! May you all enjoy a blessed and joyous day. ::yes::

I'm so flattered by all the offers for young "suitors" for my DD. :p I'm sure anyone of these fine young men would be a "catch", especially with such wonderful women as their "moms" (The BEST!). It is a nice dream....as we would all be related. Maybe we should set up "dates", etc., for the times we are in the "WORLD" together! LOL...I'm sure are kids would LOVE us for that. (HeHe). Other countries and cultures do this...and it doesn't seem to be so bad. I LOVE "Fiddler on the Roof"....(matchmaker matchmaker make me a match....etc....LOL), even own the DVD set. :teeth:

**PLEASE...Sign me up for the Tom Petty Musical adventure! He's a master on the guitar!!

#1hockeymom~LOL...thought so! But, who am I to say anything? Perhaps you really DID have your DD @ 13. It happens. :teeth: Glad to hear you enjoyed the day, no matter the age!

Disbug~Sorry to read things are not progressing as rapidly as anticipated for DD. :( You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Muffy~So happy to read your posts from INSIDE the MAGIC!! I have to agree with you about the vouchers, as we have used them in the past. The BEST place was Beaches and Cream at the BC! Incredible, as the "Kitchen sink" was included as the DESSERT! The Prime Rib sandwich is so tender and tasty. They are FAB if the majority of your meals are of the "lunch" type. We, prefer to dine in the late eve, so we usually skip lunch, or grab something light. How was the Le Cellier fare/service? I ADORE the B.D. in MGM, especially the COBB and the Grapefruit cake! Mmmmm. ::yes::

Have you tried this option?

The Animal Kingdom "Meal Plus" Program allows you to purchase a special certificate at any Animal Kingdom counter service restaurant (Restaurantosaurus, Flame Tree Barbecue, Pizzafari, or Tusker House) that entitles you to the following:

1. Counter service meal with small drink (non-alcoholic) -*some people consistently get a LARGE drink w/no problem!
2. Coupon for a box of popcorn or an ice cream
3. Coupon for a bottle of water (I believe Lauren's sister was able to obtain an ice cream bar at a cart for the bottled water coupon!)

The cost is $11.99 for adults and $5.99 for kids, which is quite a good deal considering that the higher-priced counter service meals alone can set you back that much, once you add the drink. You must use the coupons on the day you purchase them.

Enjoy your time there...and thanks again, for taking the time to post. (*I LOVE Ruben sands...CL sounds like it's really coming around! Give my love to Denise, Thabo and MAMA T...if you happen to see them).

mouseteacher~Yep...I've noticed the "trend" too (complaints about the S/D), and even saw a reference to "you know who" (LOL). It's all fine and dandy with moi, as it's "ALL the MORE FOR US!!" :goodvibes

Hope the kiddies are back to their "normal" rambunctious selves today. ^_^ The holiday season passed too quickly. It's just taking a day/two to SET~IN...before their BACK TO SCHOOL mode kicks-in. DD has been fine, but misses the wonderful break and traveling, etc. Me too. ;)

jmcross ...vouchers may also be purchased through www.connections123.com (although you may have to join to purchase the vouchers). Mary has a lot of indepth information regarding these vouchers on her internet site as well: www.mousesavers.com. I hope this helps.

The internet connection at the Swan/Dolphin resorts is as simple as EpcotKilterFan posted. However, if you use dial-up, you may still use the internet by bringing a phone cord to connect to the phone. Very simple. Let us know if you have any more questions about this stuff. :)

*Thought for the day...remember to SCAN the PARKING LOTS for LOOSE LOTTERY TICKETS! :hyper:

Huh? Why am I looking for lottery tickets? Did someone not claim the Powerball? What did I miss here?

Connections offers an intro period, but then you are paying by the year. Hotwire I believe is by the month. Don't buy them too far ahead as they will expire. Another monthly service I believe is thru Lillian Vernon.

DF - Unless I missed it in my PM's still need your mailing address to send you your postcard.

LOL DF!!!

Jgates click here: Ticket Lost

Then click here: Winner comes forward

It is about the Mega Millions winner. That is all happening here where I live. The store is about 10 miles from me. My mom actually works for the Ohio Lottery and it was all abuzz today with the winner.

If I had won that (which I can't because my mother works there) my attorney would be claiming it while I was in the Presidential Suite at the Dolphin!!

I'm now in the thick of my planning stage for our trip in March. I have a few questions regarding transportation. I'm hoping you experts can help me:)

We have reservations at Boma at 6:30 on one of the evenings we are there, what is the best way to get there from the Dolphin? I'm guessing boating over to MGM and then taking a bus? Also, approximately how long will it take? I wouldn't mind getting there early so I can check out AKL.

Since we will be there in March ( I know it will be busy) can I make multiple PS's for the same time at different restaurants and then cancel the ones I don't want or need that day when I have a better idea what we will be up for? This is our first trip, and with a DD6 and DD3 I'm just not sure how long this will last.

You guys are a ton of help!!

kctinkerbell

OK - that explains it!!! Appears the winner was valid since she had a receipt from the right time frame.

I will probably end up giving wrong answers here, but my welcome letter from the Swan (does everyone get those or just club?) states bus service to Animal Kingdom. I would think you might have to then take bus from AK to AKL.

I also believe you can make multiple PS's but you have to cancel cause I believe there is now a fee for a no-show. Post that on the Restaurants board here and I know you will get an accurate answer.

Thanks for the info EpcotKilterFan and DF!!

Dreamflight --

Such a good memory on my sister's use of voucher to get icecream. I am impressed. On the subject of those vouchers, the kids vouchers are the real deal - each of us had a kids meal which I think was a cheese pizza -- which was more than enough for lunch.

Muffy

I am loving the reports. You go girl!

Disbug

Thinking of you and your little one and hoping for a post from you with good news soon.

Bump up from page 2!

DF~ I wondered if that poster was referring to you - my oh my - he/she certainly doesn't know you and that your comment was not made in a negative tone. You would NEVER admonish another poster - it's not your style. The magic must live in all of us no matter where we stay - it is what makes us Disneyphiles. I do whatever I can to afford a trip to Disney - sometimes that means staying at a value or a mod or a deluxe.

joshua4~ I, too, will order a child's meal for lunch at a counter service restaurant in WDW since I like eating a smaller portion lunch - saving my appetite for a wonderful dinner at one of WDW wonderful restaurants.

 Can you believe that lottery ticket claim??? Bizarre to say the least!

Zurg has a trip report up and it's terrific - giving delswife a little competition! Go on over to the Community Board and you'll find the post.

*waving to show off my improved trip counter!* (ok, its the same counter.... but it keeps getting lower, and lower, and lower!

I am so glad that I stopped in, otherwise I wouldn't have seen the zurg family trip report! I will have to pop over there. I am sure it will be a fabulous read!

I have some vouchers that I will be "testing" in a weeks time. I also figured that through saving money, we'd also be touring some new resorts and eating at some different places. I only have three of the VKL vouchers and ten of the counter service. If it works out, I'll purchase more for our Easter trip!

*doing the almost one week dance!*
