New Disney Ships: News, Rumors, Speculation.....and Names!

I actually like most the Destiny, except I don't feel like the Frozen show really fits in. The Lion King dinner sounds great, and the Marvel stuff will really appeal to my tween kids. The biggest Marvel fan I know personally is a 38-year-old childless male so I think that could bring in both kids and millennial adults (I have no clue what the generations in between are into). We sail Disney for the IP and kid's clubs so this kind of stuff appeals to us.
Yes, I thought Frozen was the oddball one out. Like really? a repeat too. its a great show though, I saw it on the Wonder. but ya think you’d want to make each show on each ship unique to entice folks to go on that specific ship. oh well, i’ll still enjoy it when I get on the Destiny.

Frozen would have been better on Treasure, for me as that fits the ‘going on an adventure’ theme.

I think Tangled would have been a better fit for Destiny. I’m surprised the Magic has two shows that are on no other ships still.

I know I was really expecting
Seas/new show (Hercules)/tangled or Cinderella show from Magic on destiny

I agree, especially since the Destiny is all about classic heroes and villains. While Tangled is more modern, it does fit the classic structure of hero and villain better than Frozen.

German media is reporting that according to the authorities (who clear the way with ordinances) the Treasure conveyance is planned to start on 9/18 at 11 am German time (5 am EST). She is due to reach Eemshaven in the early hours of 9/19. At least this appears to be the current plan, but conveyance schedules have often changed for weather and such.

Disney Treasure Logo Collection

The Disney Treasure Logo Collection takes inspiration from the ship’s namesake, featuring gold hues and glitter. Dazzling new Loungefly accessories will add a touch of glamour to any outfit with a 3D gemstone print. Apparel pieces in this line also feature a shimmer effect that is sure to refract the Caribbean sunlight perfectly on your next cruise.

Melizza paired the Treasure Bling Headband with the Treasure Bling Loungefly and a flowy brown skirt. And Michelle opted for pinstriped trousers and a macramé belt to complement her Treasure Bling Fashion Top. Michelle finished her blue ensemble with the Adventures Ahoy Loungefly Backpack, showing how you can mix pieces from different collections!

Disney Treasure Inaugural Collection

The Disney Treasure Inaugural Collection will allow guests to commemorate the debut season of Disney Cruise Line’s stunning new ship. The items in this line boast a jewel-toned color scheme, reminiscent of the ship’s Agrabah-inspired Grand Hall and Princess Jasmine’s iconic royal garb. The collection includes a variety of apparel, accessories and keepsakes that families will treasure for years to come, alongside the magical memories they make onboard.

Meanwhile, Melizza grabbed her Inaugural Crew Neck to pose with her Adventure Mickey Mouse Plush and Adventure Minnie Mouse Plush from the Adventures Ahoy collection.

I think some people living in Singapore had mentioned seeing some local advertising regarding the Adventure. Wondering if there has been any indication yet of when she'll start sailing?

There's been a lot of advertising in their train stations and on public transport for the last month or two. It still just vaguely says 2025.

Sooo.. maybe my forum search skills are sub par, but I havent seen much discussion lately on the four new ships that were announced at D23. At the time there was a LOT of discussion (and arguments) about would these be a new class of ships, or just more Triton Class? And if a new class, would they follow general trends and be HUGE, or some were hoping more small ships to replace the Magic and Wonder. Or a mixture of all of the above.

Is Cruise Industry News considered an unreliable source, especially their section 'Cruise Ship Orders?'

Because they list the new Disney ships we know of, the treasure, the destiny, the adventure, but the ALSO LIST 4 NEW UNAMED SHIPS, coming in 2027, 2029, 2030, and 2031. These ships are listed as the same size (so one class), that is only slightly larger than the Triton class (so not mammoth, but different). 160,000 tonnage versus 140,000 and a capacity of 3,000 versus 2,500.

I would think people would be buzzing about this (if reliable).

I saw it, too. Makes me sad. We love the Magic and the Wonder. Someone posted about it a week or so ago and I posted that we will probably not continue sailing with DCL in the long term. Still enjoy the Dream and the Fantasy, but not happy with many changes to the Triton class. Don’t want to cruise with even more of my very best friends. Hope they take all of the feedback on the Wish and make some amazing changes.

Great link. 20,000 tons may not seem like a lot, but it added 500 passengers. I noticed that the OLC/Tokyo order is roughly the same as the Wish class (I'm a purist and refuse to call it the Triton class when none of the ships bear that name).

Some of the ideas released for the Adventure caught my eye as interesting. The neighborhood idea and the insertion of more diverse meal options. I was salivating over the idea of South Asian food while on cruise.

By extension of that thought, I do wonder what the Lion King restaurant will serve on the Destiny.

Do we know where that passenger count comes from? Is it based on 2 passengers per room? Because the Wish class has a passenger capacity of 4,000. If that's the case then it's actually adding more than 500 passengers.
