I'm also sure it had more to do with people complaining that the wait staff wasn't fulfilling their job to get an 18% tip and that the consumer should be able to adjust that amount to fit the service. Not that the tip shouldn't be included but that waitstaff was not always up to par and may deserve less of a tip. So they took it off the plan instead. I think Disney waitstaff is going to be upset when they realize that now they are getting little or no tip when people get
free dining but do not want to pay any more OOP. JMHO
I totally agree. Not having done the
DDP before, I was concerned about the service after reading that many Disser's had less than stellar service because they were on the dining plan. Do you think it has somthing to do with people from other cultures not being accustomed to tipping? Either way, I don't think it will be beneficial to the servers. Lots of lost income because people don't know tip is not inc. or who are ticked off with the changes and don't tip at all.
I think I am just bummed that I finally get to do the dining plan and then they go and change it on me- and for the worse. I was planning on sharing meals with my Hubby and the appetizers would be perfect for me. I don't need to eat that many desserts. I wish we had the option of one or the other. I am just going to try to remember that the convenience of pre-paying will be better and I will get to eat at restuarants I wouldn't normally eat at.
