Hello: I've read about DVC instituting the Dining Disney plans bwcoming availible to DVC mambers. Would someone answer a couple of questions for me?

Disney dining plan: what's included and what's the price?

Disney Premium dining plan: Is this one available, what's included and what about the cost? Thanks

No information has been released yet from DVC about the program. It was announced at the annual meetings that it would be available for trips after April 1, 2006 thru MS beginning on January 3, 2006. No prices or other information has been released by DVC at this time, but there have been a few reports from MS phone calls that it may be priced the same as the DDP already in existence.

Stay Tuned!

In addition to Doc's info, there is a FAQ on the Disney Dining Plan on the Disney Restaurant board. Tons of info on it, I'm sure.

I haven't seen anything about the premium plan being offered other than one other inquiry about it. Perhaps if some DISser is calling MS today, they could ask for us all. But having done that plan quite a few times years ago, I will say you have to be organized, energetic and willing to dine out three times a day to make it cost effective. My guys golf so that helped make it work for us but there are some pretty decent discounts between DVC and AP these days for golf. We had neither when we used to "do the plan."

Read in one of the meeting reports that Disney plans to allow DVC folks to addon the dining plan. Any new info on this yet?

I just called MS this morning - it's $37.99 ($10.99 3-9), you must buy for all members of party, and for length of stay. You can began booking on 1/3/2006 for travel after 4/1/2006.

Nice!!

We are staying in BWV starting April 2nd!

Guess I will be calling after New Years to book the meal plan. Already have all my ADR's set!

Is that the price per day/per person? I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have a dining plan! We spend ALOT of money on food and my DD will be 10 when we go so bascially and adult and my youngest will turn 3 the day we get there..so the food budget really went up. Is it like the Dining Plan that non-DVCers have been using? Can someone give me an example? Thank you soo much!!

Question though..we are going to Kennedy Space Center one day..can we skip that day or use it on another day?

My Understanding is that you get X amount of credits based on your length of stay. Ex: 2 adults x 5 nights = 10 TS credits, 10 CS credits and 10 snack credits. These could technically be used the first day but do expire upon checkout.

I also spoke with MS this week. The plan will work exactly the same as the existing plan for cash resort guests, and I believe it is the same as the 2006 price for non-DVC. We arrive March 30 and check out April 7, and no one was able to tell me whether we would be eligible to add the dining plan on for the April portion of our trip. After being so annoyed that DVC didn't have a dining plan available, though, I am now having second thoughts about whether we should buy if it is available. We would be paying adult rates for our dd10 but it sounds like she will still be offered a kids' menu at most restaurants, and my guess is she will choose those over the adult menu. Beyond buffets/all you can eat, the plan may not make sense. I have posted on the restaurant forum to get opinions. I am glad to see that DVC responded to member comments, though (assuming that that is part of the reason the plan is being added).

I'm curious to see how it would work for DVCers. I just read a good portion, but not all, of the Dining Plan thread (Phew..that thing is looong!) so I get the jist of it, but all those people had packages..hotel, tickets, and the dining plan. Our accomodations are taken care of already via DVC, and we purchased 10 day MYW Premium tickets that we will spread out over a few years. ( We only go once per year so an AP wouldn't work for us) I wonder if they are just offering the dining plan alone and not connected to ticket purchases? Whenever anyone finds anything out..please share. Thanks! :flower:

Based on my discussion with member services, it sounds like for DVC the dining plan will be linked to the length of your reservation, not to your tickets. Unfortunately at this point they were pretty much reading off the general information sheet they had and claiming that more info wouldn't be available until January 3. It sounded like they hadn't been "trained" or whatever would happen to allow them to implement the plan.

I'd also be interested in hearing if "length of stay" means you have credits on check in day AND check out day (like the old length of stay passes). Or if it's based on the number of nights you are staying. That would be helpful to know as well from a planning standpoint.

It's per night of your stay not per day. So if you're there Sun-Fri., you'll get 5 TS, 5 CS and 5 snacks per person.

You can use those credits any day you want from checkin until midnight after checkout.

Even with CRO, it's not linked to the number of days on your tickets, it's linked to the number of nights for your room. You can buy a MYW package plus dining and only buy a 1 day ticket. People who have AP's have been doing this to get the dining plan.

Yes, length of stay, in this case means you have credits for check in day too because that would be considered your first night. ALL your credits expire the day you checkout at midnight even though you DO NOT get credits for that day (check out day). Its like your getting an extra day for any credits left over.

Given that the Dining Plan is for length of stay. How would they treat multiple reservations where for instance the first two nights we are staying in a 1BR suite w/two people, and the next two nights in a 2BR w/four people?
Could we just get the dining plan for the first 2 nights?

My question is: When can we make dining reservations? We're going to be there for spring break - 4/9 - 4/16 and I want to make the adrs, but given I can't buy the dining plan until 1/3, do I have to wait until then the adrs? If I can make them know, how would a reservation for a dinner show work, where they want payment upfront? Any ideas or info?

You can make your ARs at 180 days even if you don't have a room reservation. When you're asked if you are on a plan, just tell them that you intend to add it after 1/3.

Not sure about the dinner show. I know when we used to do the Gold Key Plan, they would take a credit card # as a deposit in case of no show. But now I think you pay up front for the shows, don't you? I'll bet this is covered in the Disney Dining Plan FAQ on the restaurant forum though.

Also I wouldn't say you don't get any credits for the last day. It is per night not day. So if someone checks in at 4pm, they might use a TS credit that night and a CS on the last day after checking out. You can play around with the credits however you want.

I've only got to page 11 of the 77 (yes..a whopping 77) pages on the DIning Plan thread on the restaurant forum, but someone else wanted to know about the dinner show thing and paying up front. Let them know..you'll be adding the dinng plan and then I think when you get there..inform them of the dining plan and they will credit it back to your account.
