New cruise contract

Hmmm.... just got an email saying our cruise documents aren't completed...

Uh, yeah, over a month ago. Got our booklet with luggage tags and all information printed in it a couple of weeks ago.

Went and checked out my reservation, and, apparently there's been some changes to the contract. It seems that they've changed how/if a guest can take legal action against DCL for a myriad of causes (including "emotional distress").

Maybe a reaction to disgruntled guests on the the 2 recent Fantasy cruises?

Been thinking about that, and something I was thinking, is that it could oriniginated from the parks or resorts also, since DCL, and Disney World wide share a lot of the same lawyers. It could be a blanket that was added after something that happened in 1 of the parks, that we never heard about. Id guess and say for every 1 lawyer event (DCL or Disney in general being sued) that we hear about, theres several that we don't.

Yeah, just speculation on my part.

Mine too. Unfortunately in todays litigious society, well probably never know the reason behind it. Theres no such thing anymore as taking responsibility for your own actions.

Back in 08 or 09 on the Wonder, my wife and I were walking around the pool deck. At 1 point I had to walk in front of her because the path had narrowed. I got the feeling something wasn't right and turned around and my wife was sitting in a puddle of water. She had slipped and fell. (OK root cause was someones kid holding there finger over 1 of the kids spray nozzles in the deck and sending the water out on to the deck). Security and the CD were next to us in about 5 seconds. Took her to med facility and the nurse told her the same thing I did she strained her ankle, no big deal. (She has pins in both ankles, from precious breaks, and as a FF/EMT I threw a sever wrinkle into the chain of command)Sent us on our way. Never gave it a second thought. Even when we got the tray of strawberries and the please don't sue us apology letter.(As I jokingly called it) After that, there was someone with a squeegee near the pool at all times.

Never crossed my mind to call a lawyer. Sometimes things happen and you have to accept that you as the individual have some part of the blame. Its not always all someone elses fault.

Funny, I was recently re-reading an old Reader's Digest article about how we've turned into a "It's not my fault" society. And how we need to start taking back responsibility for what happens to us.

I agree, sometimes things just happen.
