I don't know if you are just plain uninformed or rude? Apparently Disney should only market to white folks???
And I find your assumption on income just rude! I know LOTS of poor white folks LOL! Disney mails them things all the time.
Whoa, I never said Disney shouldn't market to the African American community, I said that they need to do a better job of marketing the overall Disney brand specifically to them and attracting them to Disney before marketing DVC to that community will be effective. With Disney's historic lack of diversity when it comes to African Americans in their movies, TV shows, etc. they haven't been giving the community much to relate too. Things are changing of course, but it has taken them a long time, and I can't believe it's taken them this long to introduce a black princess (if that movie ever does come out).
And how did I make an "assumption" on income. I reported hard statistical data on income levels of whites and blacks as generated by the Census and Labor Bureaus

. Of course there are many African Americans who make significantly more than the average, and plenty of whites who make less, but on average blacks make 35% less than whites. This, when coupled by the fact that blacks make up only 12% of the wage earning population, is significant when deciding who to market to from a business perspective, politically correct or not. Of course a business is going to try to get as much as it can from every demographic, but believe me, those kind of demographic statistics play a part in where a company decides to put its marketing dollars.
Personally, I don't think you even read my posts closely or objectively, because I think I have been pretty clear that Disney should market specifically to the African American community more. Its a smaller piece of the pie, but still one worth targeting. But I do believe that they 1) haven't done a good job at it to date, 2) could potetnially have difficultly if they used the hip hop culture to do that marketing, and 3) don't yet have a strong enough marketing effort in the overall Disney brand to make marketing DVC effective. I know there are MANY African Americans who love Disney, go to WDW world all the time, and/or own DVC. But I suspect (and yes, here I am assuming based on anecdotal evidence) that Disney is not as popular overall with the black community as it is with whites due to the lack of effective marketing to that community.
