How does this work? Do I have to hook up my Wii to the internet? I'm interested in getting Netflix so we can get all the Disney movies that my girls haven't seen before our upcoming Disney trip. :wizard:

TIA!

Yes, it will only work if your Wii is hooked up to the internet. We have wireless, and use that for our Wii to get Netflix.

You need to have wireless internet. Order the disc from Netflix and put it in your Wii. You install it on your game system the one time and then after you remove the disc, you still have the Netflix program as a choice on your Wii.

You no longer need the disk, you can go to the store on the WII and download it there.

Not sure what Disney movies you are looking to watch, but there isn't that many on Netflix Instant Viewing.

You also shouldn't need to get the disc anymore from Netflix. I think you go into the Wii store and download it to your Wii.

What is Netflix Instant Viewing? Is that for Wii, or your computer?

If you are going to be getting the actual dvds of the Disney movies, then there is no need to set up Netflix on your Wii. That is only for Netflix instant.

If you have a Wii and wireless, hook that bad boy up ASAP!!!! I watch instant streaming every night now.

Between the DVR and the Instant Viewing on Netflix, I am in movie/tv series heaven.;)

I was really dissapointed in what was available "instantly" with Netflix. There are no Disney movies, a few shows but no movies (that I could find). No newer movies. There would be a few TV shows but not worth it for me.

Toy Story 3 is on instant streaming right now. . .we watched it last night!! :goodvibes
There are also several of the Disney Parks videos streaming right now. (Animal Kingdom, Behind the Scenes, Walt Disney World, etc.) My kids love to watch them!

In general there aren't a lot of movies on Instant Viewing because of the contracts with movie studios and Netflix. They have gotten better, but are still really lacking.

Almost forgot. . . "Princess and the Frog" is streaming as well. Don't know how old your girls are, but my kids enjoyed "Prince of Persia". We are loving our Netflix on the Wii!

"Up" is also streaming right now.

We use streaming Netflix all the time. It's great, except on those days where the internet seemingly moves like a snail (which is infrequent, but...still!)

I don't think I saw any of these over Easter when I tried out the instant streaming. So maybe there is a growing list of things available.

I'm pretty sure Up and Princess and the Frog have been able to stream instantly since December, at least. I could be wrong though since I haven't watched anything instantly in quite a while. But I do agree that the Disney selection on instant streaming isn't the greatest.

UP has been in my instant queue for about a year now and Princess and the Frog was offered about 6 months after the movie came out on DVD. Prince of Persia and Sorcerers' Apprentice are also available; none of them show up if you click on the Disney category though.

I have noticed that browsing for movies under the categories doesn't always show everything available so I always make sure to do specific searches if there is a movie I want to stream. About once a week I will also click on the "New Arrivals" and "Starz Play" links and see if anything looks good.

They have been available for instant for months. Are you just looking at the main page for the instant movies--scrolling through the movies on the scroll bar? If so, you need to go to "all available" because there are a lot more choices there.
