Need help with reservation questions

Well, I have a question that I cannot seem to find the answer to. I can call MS, but I thought I would ask the boards first!

When making a reservation at the 11month window, can the points be borrowed ahead or do they have to be from that use year??

HELP!!! Need to know asap!

If I understood your question correctly, the answer is yes. As long as the points will be available at your check in date, you can make the reservation. And you may borrow from a subsequent year if you need additional points.

For example, let's say my use year is August and I am out of 2000 points. I don't "get" any more points until August, 2001, but I want to make a reservation for April, 2002, which is 11 months from now. Since my points from 2001 will be available then, I can do this. If I need some points from my 2002 use year (which I don't "get" until August, 2002) to complete the reservation, I can borrow them into the 2001 use year.

I think I have a handle on this now.
What if you have 0 points for that current year and need to borrow all for that ressie, can you still use the 11 month window???

The 11 month and 7 month windows apply to when you can make the reservation. Banking & borrowing are things you may need to do in order to "pay" for the reservation. They don't affect when you can make the reservation.

Just remember, once points are banked or borrowed they can't be returned to their original use years and/or banked or borrowed again. If you borrow points to make a reservation and then have to cancel the reservation, you must use those points before the end of the Use Year.

As long as you aren't borrowing more than 1 use year head of the "use year that the reservation is in" , the answer is yes.

So now the example is:

My use year is August.

2000 use year goes from Aug 1, 2000 - July 31, 2001
2001 use year goes form Aug 1, 2001 - July 31, 2002
2002 use year goes form Aug 1, 2002 - July 31, 2003
2003 use year goes form Aug 1, 2003 - July 31, 2004
etc.


It's May 29, 2001 and I want to make a reservation for April 29, 2002. April 2002 falls within my 2001 use year


I have no points left for my 2000 use year and all of my 2001 use year points are either commited or used.

So the points that I am due to receive in August 2002 are the only points available to me for this ressie. I can borrow those 2002 use year points into my 2001 use year to make the April, 2002 ressie. (Of course, eventually, I am going to have to either skip a year, purchase more points or pay cash! LOL).

I can NOT borrow any of the points that I have coming in August 2003 for the April 2002 resssie, though, as that would be borrowing more than 1 use year ahead of the use year the ressie is in. So I hope the ressie doesn't cost more than one year's worth of points. (Well, I guess I could try to rent some. LOL!)
