My head is swimming! I've been on the computer for days it seems trying to get a nice hotel in Honolulu for 4 days next March! :surfweb:

Here's the problem......we don't have $250.00 and up a night kind of money. So I figured I'd look at Hawaii boards, trip reviews, etc. Plenty of places for $150.00 and less if you don't mind bed bugs, mice running across the floor and stained rugs! Problem is I do! :rotfl2:

Can anybody help me with a recommendation? Thanks much, you guys are the greatest!

google vacation condos in honolulu and see what comes up.
The Imerial of Waikaki is very nice.
The Sheraton Waikaiki is also nice as is the Royal Hawaiian. I don't know what the nightly rate will be though.

I notice you're from Arlington ? Any military or DOD connection ? If so you can't go wrong w/ the Hale Koa.

We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and liked it a lot. You can get it for around $199/night on some websites.

My best advice is to go to tripadvisor.com and look for hotels in Honolulu. They have tons of reviews for every hotel and the people there have not steered me wrong yet! It is a great website.

Thank you for the replys. I'll check into those hotels.

Hubby is a civilian contractor - but does have a DOD badge, I wonder if that qualifies us? I'll look into it.

Any other hotel ideas out there?

Thanks again,
Denna

I can't remember what our price per night was, but I know we got a much better deal combining hotel and airfare and the car rental. We stayed at The Pacific Beach Hotel, had a beautiful ocean view!! I remember the reviews on it were mixed- slow elevators, a bit old looking and such. But really it was pretty good. Our room was clean and it had parking, which can be tough to find so if you rent a car think about it, and close to the beach.

I stayed in an Ohana hotel, think it was the Ohana Island Waikiki, a few years ago (also on a budget). It was pretty basic, but clean and without wildlife, and a partial ocean view (if I leaned right over....). It didn't have a restaurant, but there were plenty in the area, and an easy walk to the shore. It's rates are showing to be around the $150 mark for March, but I got a better deal when I phoned directly.

Have a fantastic trip!

I got a great deal on the Outrigger Reef on the Beach when combining air and hotel. Without a package it appears to be about $199 a night. It's a decent hotel in a great location. I'm not sure I feel it's work $199 a night, but you're paying for the location. You are literally right on the beach.

Another hotel I've considered but have not stayed at is the Queen Kapilolani Hotel. It has gotten really good reviews on trip advisor. I've considered it for my last 2 trips to Hawaii, but then something always comes up, usualy more people decide to go, and by splitting costs, it allowed me to get a nicer hotel.

Definitely check into the Hale Koa, I've visited friends there and it's great. I think you might be able to get a room with a DOD ID. Just thought I'd check real quick, look what I found http://halekoa.com/elig.htm DOD is eligible in certain circumstances.

Call the Hale Koa. If you qualify you won't be sorry. We love it there. If you don't, then I guess you will have to keep looking. I would consider the Hilton Hawaiian Village and look for a good deal. How about Outrigger hotels. I have stayed in Outrigger Condos and have been happy.
