Hello everybody. I read disboards all of the time but I have never posted. I just booked a room with Travelocity and I have a few questions. I did a search and found many posts about Orbitz but not Travelocity.
1. When I booked I got a 10 digit alpha numeric confirmation number that I tried to use to link to MDE account. It did not work.:sad1: Do I need to call Travelocity to get a 12 digit Disney number?

2. I just booked this morning. Do I need to wait a few days before I try to link it?

3. Once I link the reservation and purchase my tickets and link them to MDE will I receive a free magic band like I do when I book through the Disney site?

Thank you in advance for any answers.

Did you book an onsite resort? I'm assuming so. You'll need to find out what Disney's reservation number is, not the Travelocity reservation number. Once you get Disney's reservation number, you should be fine for linking to MDE and getting mb and fp+.

Thank You for the response. I did book onsite, the Wilderness Lodge. I noticed in another thread somebody mentioned that they got a confirmation from WDW a few days after booking with Orbitz. I obviously got an immediate confirmation email from Travelocity, should I expect a confirmation from Disney as well?
Thanks again for the help. I've been to WDW many times, but I've never booked through Travelocity.

I booked a one night add on room through Travelocity last year, as Disney's inventory was sold out. I was never sent the Disney confirmation number, only the Travelocity number, which wouldn't link to MDE. I called Disney and gave them my info and the CM was able to find the correct number for me within a few minutes. I was able to link that with no problems and got MagicBands just like for any other onsite stay.

Was there more than one confirmation code in the email Travelocity sent? Our initial email from Orbits had an Orbitz confirmation number and then a "hotel confirmation number" which was the Disney number that linked to MDE.

Confirmation email had an itinerary number and a 10 digit alpha numeric "confirmation" number. I tried to link with this confirmation number and my last name but it did not work. I just booked the room today. Do you happen to know if I have to wait a day or two for the reservation to appear in Disney's system?

Good information. Thank you.

I called Travelocity and was told that I need to call Disney to get the WDW confirmation number. Called Disney and was told that I need to call Travelocity. Called Travelocity back and the guy speaks very broken English. His sources have told him that I can get my Disney confirmation on MDE website. I told him I need my WDW confirmation number to link. I've been on hold for about 45 minutes now awaiting "further assistance". Not having fun.:sad2:

Since Orbitz was acquired by Expedia, they no longer provide that hotel confirmation number.

If Travelocity does not provide the 12 digit number starting with a 4, or know what you are talking about, call Disney back and speak to someone else. Tell them Travelocity was unable to give you the number you needed.

Success!!:yay:

It took an hour or more total, but I finally was able to get my Disney confirmation number from Travelocity and link it to MDE. I saved about $600, so I guess it's worth it, but I'm not sure I would recommend booking through Travelocity.

Thanks again for all the help.

Glad it worked out! I never was able to get my number from Travelocity but, as I said, got it with ease from Disney. Would be nice to have some consistency!

Who got it to you?

Is there anything you can recommend to help others do it?

I would have urged you to wait another day or two. I have to with hotels.com.

The representative from Travelocity finally got it for me. The two of us were not communicating very well. After getting nowhere I asked him if I cancelled the reservation right then if they would still charge me a $25 fee seeing as the reservation wouldn't help me get my 60 day fastpass window and I had just booked it a few hours earlier. He kept telling me that I would not be charged a fee because the cancellation clause indicated that if I cancelled before June 21st I would be charged a hotel cancellation fee of $25 and it was well before that date. I kept trying to explain that it was before that date so in my mind I would probably be assessed the cancellation fee, but he didn't quite get it. Finally I asked to speak with a supervisor. He put me on hold for almost 40 minutes and finally came back and apologized for the wait, but said that he had good news and he was able to get the WDW reservation number. He didn't tell me where he got it, but the WDW representative that I spoke with earlier said to tell the Travelocity agent to call into their group sales desk and they could provide it to Travelocity, so maybe in that 40 minute wait that is what he finally did. It probably won't do any good but I did fill out a feedback form on the Travelocity website indicating that it would be nice with WDW reservations for them to provide the Disney confirmation or at least brief their employees about why it is needed.
