need advice on Alamo at MCO

Hi All,

We head to WDW on Sunday!

We have a ressie with Alamo. We used my DH's Qsilver number, and we also did the "Save Time" online and went ahead and added me as the second driver, confirmed the credit card, etc.

THe confirmation says that we should go to the "new Self-Service kiosk", then select car and drive to exit to show reservation and license.
Mousesaver says the QS members should go straight out to small booth outside in car lot.
Are both of those correct? In other words, can we go to either the self serve kiosk or just head out to the booth in the car lot? If so, is one generally better than the other?

As much as I respect and appreciate Mousesavers, in this case I would follow the (most current) instructions provided by the rental agency.

I think I will suggest to DH that he go to one of the self serve kiosks if there is no line. But if there seems to be wait at the kiosks, maybe go right out to the small booth in the parking lot to ask if he can check in there as a QS member.
He is useless with anything that resembles a computer, so he was hoping he could speak with a human in the parking lot booth! But at least DD14 will be with him so she can work the "computer" kiosk if need be!

I think your reservation confirmation will have a barcode on it. You just use this in the kiosk to essentially check you in (it prints out a receipt-looking slip). You need this slip to check out. I would not go straight out and pick a car and I do not remember seeing any kiosks for Alamo outside.

I will also say it's sometimes hard to understand the categories in the parking lot. We felt like we took too big of a car, but it was parked in the midsize area. Just another FYI.

Go to one of the Alamo kiosks in the rental car area inside the terminal, one level down from baggage claim. Check-in at the kiosk and get the printed documents that the machine spits out.

Then follow the screen directions to the Alamo section in the garage. You do NOT need to visit the Alamo booth in the garage. Find a car you want in your section. Load up and head out, stopping at the Alamo booth near the garage exit. You'll show your papers and ID and then you can leave.

Very easy.

I just picked up car with Alamo quick silver on Mon. I asked attendant (who helped me take luggage to car) when I retrieved my bags what to do and went straight to garage and showed them my papers and checked out. I didn't need to check in at Kiosk. I even added extra driver (spouse for free) at garage.

Last time I was there, you could do either. However, I found the Self-Service kiosk to be faster than stopping at the booth. (Based on previous experiences of using the booth.)

Since Alamo has added the kiosks, I always use the kiosks. Extremely simple, clear and fast, especially if you have all your defaults in, which you do as you are QS. It works great.

I was the one who posted on Mousesavers about using the kiosk in the parking garage. We still do this because the lines inside the airport can get very long. We did this in May with no problem and will do it again in November.
