This isn’t about this one incident. If you listen to what the players and teams are saying this one incident was sort of the catalyst. They were discussing this before even going to the bubble.
We are all here “worried” about how Disney will fare and not the issues at hand... or we are all here discussing the why of it and discussing what the implications will be for Disney, players, Bubble employees, etc.Really confounding that there are people in this thread more worried about how a corporation will fare in the wake of these events than the actual issue at hand. The Disney Kool-Aid needs a break.
Atlanta Hawks said in June that they are opening up the State Farm Arena as a massive voting center to allow social distancing and reduce wait times at the polls. Parking fees at the arena have been waived. I have to assume the players are interested in innovative ideas like this that only the owners can really implement. I just think the players don't necessarily know what those innovative ideas are right now and they are struggling with that.
We are ATL UTD fans and they decided not to play last night. My husband asked me what missing one game really does. Then I read him some of the previous posts on this thread. One poster that said the canceled NBA games made her son ask questions- my 10 yr old daughter also asked the same questions about the MLS. It opened more conversation in our house.
Still completely missing the point. He misspelled "resume being paid millions"
Still completely missing the point.
The NBA, MLB, MLS, WNBA, and NFL did not cancel practices and games just because. I don’t know why I bother with people who refuse to understand why.

Yes and no. The NBA is having further meetings later today and essentially presenting demands or aspects they believe are important to league executives and owners. They don’t want this to continue to just be talk. They want owners to be more vocal and use their powers too. A big reason they are continuing is because they want to keep showcasing their voice.Everyone understands why - emotion.
Whether it was misplaced or warranted in the current circumstances was probably the discussions that occurred this morning...
There have now been 48 hours to review both events that caused the initial boycott of the games. And time helps lead to uncovered facts and cooler heads...
As we used to say in the military, "is this the hill you want to make your stand on?" It seems like the Wisconsin events will not be for the NBA. How one feels about that and the NBA is probably too political for the board...
7 NFL teams so far canceled practice today and there will be no NBA games today so...It's just really odd the movement was bigger than basketball yesterday, but today it is not.
