Finally! Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day even if there was no racing. Yesterday was the last "off" day until mid July! We will have 8 races in a row between now and July 11th (then they get a week off July 18th) then it's full out for the rest of the season. Can you tell I hate off weekends?
So, this week our first Night race of the season and it's at a short track
and it's time to pick your top 5.
Last year's winner of this race was Joe Nemecheck (driving the Hendrick #25). The fall winner was Ryan Newman. Rusty Wallace is the active driver with the most wins (6). Vegas odds have Newman and Earnhardt Jr as favs at 7-1.
Qualifying will be Friday at 3:10PM ET. Picks must be submitted before the start of qualifying.
Here are my picks:
1. #24 J. Gordon (his last two wins have come at tracks where he has won 2 times before - guess what other track he has 2 wins at
)
2. #20 T. Stewart (hopefully the off week has given him a chance to reevaluate how his season is going)
3. #01 J. Nemecheck (was it him or the car? last year)
4. #25 B. Vickers (if it was the car, well Brian drives it now)
5. #5 T. Labonte (had the pole last year, has won here before)
Spare - #48 J. Johnson (Only Hendrick driver I haven't picked
)
Good luck everyone. I missed you guys last week.
