MYW Package + Dining in 2 Resorts?

I'm spending 7 nights in WDW resorts and I want the MYW package plus dining. I would like to split my stay between two resorts, though. Does anyone know if that is allowed?

Yes you can. I am doing a split stay between the WL and Poly. I have a 9 day MYW with dining at the WL and a 1 day base ticket with dining plan at the poly. It worked out less to do it this way as the more days on ticket the less you pay/day.

you'll need to qualify that response.

you can only have the DDP if you book a package. to book a package requires tickets for everyone, although they could be 1 day as they can be any length.

if you want the DDP the entire stay, that's what you'll need to do. for example, if 4 nights at one resort and 3 at another, you'll buy 7 day tickets (or whatever length) for the first package, 1 day base for the other resort and you'll save them for future use.

otherwise you can do a mix. you can do a package for one and a room only at the other. then you can only have the DDP for the package stay. any unused credits from the package will expire at 11:59:59 pm on the day of check-out for the package, so that could conceivably serve as dinner even after checking into the other resort.

Thanks for all the info! What I'm actually considering is 6 nights in one resort and 1 night in another, just because the first resort doesn't have that last night available. We only need 7 day, at the most, passes so what I was thinking was doing a 6 day hopper and a 1 day base ticket, and getting the DDP for all seven nights. I'm not even sure I'd need to activate the one day ticket, so we could always use it later (does an un-activated ticket ever expire?). And if we did use it, it would only increase our costs by about $65 per person, which I could live with and would probably save on the DDP anyway.

The problem is, I had contacted a travel agency initially but, they can't book a package less than 3 days. Which means, they can't give me what I want, and could get from Disney at the same price (I'll just have to watch for my own discount codes). I hate to back out after they've already done a bit of legwork but, I may. After all, I want what I want and I could have gotten the quotes she's gotten me online at the Disney site in about 20 minutes, including the crappy Disney website slowness time. I'll still feel guilty about it, though.

EACH free dining reservation has a minimum stay of 3 days. I know you're just extending your one reservation by one night.. but technically that second hotel is a separate reservation, a separate stay, and subject to the same three night rule as the first one.

So you can't do a 1 night package at all I don't think. Call Disney Reservations to be absolutely sure, but I'm quite confident they will tell you no also.

This is in December.....there is no free dining in December, that I'm aware of. We're paying for the dining package.

However you work out the dining portion of it, if the first reservation will have a 6 day ticket and you want to use a 7th day, it's like 1-2 dollars per person to upgrade that 6 day ticket to a 7 day ticket. I'd still say book your ticket with the first stay for your entire length - for the extra $2/person even if you dont go, it's much less waste than if you end up activating the one day tickets. And you can book it with 6 days and upgrade after you get there. I just went ahead and booked my extra day so we could ride TOT and RNR one last time before heading home.

My suggestion would be if the second ressie is just one night don't worry about the ddp for that night-for each adult you are paying about $110 for the dining for that one night (dining plan + extra ticket) - granted you will still then have the one day ticket left.

Since you are paying for Dining.. you can do this.. but you should remember sometimes resort availability IS based on a minimum number of nights.

Not a big concern most of the time, but sometimes this comes into play in December.

That said, I'd ask your travel agent to make a special call and say to her "Hey, I need a ONE night package.. can you please make a call to Disney especially to confirm you cannot do this? Because I can do it directly with Disney."

Keep in mind, since they are considered separate reservations no matter who books them or how, your TA can book your 6 night package and you can book your one night package on your own too.. that's another choice. Regardless how you book them, each package reservation will require a 200$ deposit.

Thanks again for all the info! Looking at it again, I think you're all probably right about forgoing the DDP for that last night.

I also have new information. According to the Disney site, the last night we needed just came available but, in a different view level. Does anyone know if changing view levels, therefore changing rooms, in the same resort would constitute a separate package? So, could I book 6 nights in garden view and 1 night in lagoon view all in the same 7 night MYW+dining package?

you would have to book all 7 nights in one room to be one continuous package. Otherwise it is two packages.
