I've never eaten at Mythos, but I've heard it's rated the best theme park restaurant. i'm going to USO/IOA in July and i was wondering if i should go eat there.

I really like it. It if a sit down restraunt and the best one in my opinion. If you plan on going plan on spending a hour - 1.5 hours there.

Best in IOA and USO.The vote gets split amongst more resturants in other parks. Also resturants in on-site hotels aren't compared.Get the bisque and risotto.

We eat there for a late lunch on every trip! The food and service is good, while the atmosphere is excellent. Plus, its the only place to get a Potion of the Gods! :drinking1

The architecture is enough to recommend going. Once Merlin :wizard: came to our table and joined us. He pronounced it Myth-Os but I’ve heard many say Meethos. Try the cowboy sandwich.

eating there but made reservations the morning right after we got to IOA. We REALLY enjoyed it! Neat atmosphere and really good food. I have to vote for the cowboy sandwich too!

Yes Mythos is as good as the ratings show. It's much better than any restaurant I've been at in a theme park. The desserts are especially awesome, and the atmosphere is very unique.

The atmosphere alone would be worth it, but the food is actually delicious as well, and I've always had terrific service. Well worth at least one visit.

My Mythos page is here

What makes the Mythos athmosphere so great, is the music they play. It's by the band Mythos, they have 3 CDs. The music is instrumental, new age, stuff you would hear in a movie. So as you look out the big window at Hulk and Dr. Doom, it seems like watching a movie.

For the food, the Cowboy Burger and the Wrap of the Day are good choices. If it's only two adults, you can share one meal, and leave room for desert, share that too if you want. If you each order an entree, you may be full, because they give you free soft bread to start.

When you walk out of the place, you'll feel like you just watched a movie.
Go at 11:30am to beat the crowd.

I don't know when you last ate at Mythos but they no longer have the large desserts. For me this is a great thing but others may be disappointed. They have followed the lead of Seasons 52, which is my favorite Orlando restaurant and now have dessert "shots". These are shot glasses of key lime pie, creme brulee, cheesecake, etc. for $1.75 each. They are scrumptious and just the right size for my taste, especially after a lunch/dinner of Mythos' wonderful risotto (my usual menu choice.)

Other than LeCellier @ Epcot, the best food I've eaten in FL, period!

Throw in the Professional wait staff along with the well-prepared food &you've got a winner - anywhere.

Well, that's interesting, thanks for the update. Went last July and had the Taste of Chocolate, so I guess they changed things after this.

Yeah, I'll throw my hand up in the air when people ask who likes Mythos.

The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is attentive without being pushy, and the food is tip-top-knotch.

I loved the lobster-corn bisque.

I was last at Mythos in September 05 and they were certainly doing large desserts then. DH and I shared a warm banana chocolate gooey cake.

We were there at Thanksgiving and were told the smaller desserts were brand new. They bring around a tray of the dessert shots to your table so you can choose. The old desserts are no longer available.

Whenever we've walked by that restaurant it never appears to be open! Is it only open for lunch? We always end up near it in the afternoon, after circling the park clockwise.

It depends on how late the park is open. We are usually there in July when the park is open until 10:00. Mythos is definitely open for wonderful dinners then.
