And in the same park you are using FP+. One thing has nothing to do with the other. If you have MB then you have on the same day, same park, same time access to FP+ on the bands, FP standard on your room key and AP. Hence the term double dipping.

Sounds more like triple dipping to me. :)

FP+ and FPstandard are 2 separate and non connected systems. Period. One you will use with your magic bands and the other with your room key (as usual). That's it. Business as usual with FP standard. As in, ignore the fact you have magic bands and go about your day. The FP+ will be used with your MB and yes only 3 per day in total and they are only in one park.

This is exactly what I have been wondering. Thank you. I just have another question.
Is the MB not your room key? Do you get KTTW card also? Sorry if I am being thick! haha

My understanding is that the KTTW card is acting as a backup during these MB tests. It is expected to be either/or when the system is fully implemented.

It's day 28 before arrival & our Magicbands arrived. We received fastpass+ right after we paid our balance. The option appeared on My Disney Experience. The option for Magicbands appeared once we did online check-in. We had to customize it by day 30 prior to arrival(within 2 days of check-in). Can't wait to get to Disney ! I will let you know how things go. We were chosen to do Fastpass+ last year. It was very good! It was great to have the planned options. No racing for fast passes open arrival to the parks( unless you want to ride it twice

Yes, we received a KTTW card. The absolutely only thing we needed our KTTW card for was the Perry Adventure in World Showcase at Epcot. They could not use the MagicBand to activate the phone. They needed either a KTTW card or park ticket.

I have a question. I'm staying at AoA for one night and then staying with my family at BWV for five days. I've customized my MagicBand for AoA but will it be useless for the remainder of my trip after i check of AoA? Also i have an AP.

Thank you for the info!:thumbsup2

This is the case for us as well, except we are at AoA and then at BLT. While the Contemporary is part of the test, I don't know if BLT is. But, as I go in to play with everything (I still need to add my fiancé's MDE account to his name on the reservation), we can still choose FP+ selections (i think, even though i haven't tried).

A few questions -

Rcvd my customized magic bands today! Yay! :)

Didn't have our ticket #'s until this evening to do fast passes. Will the fast passes be linked ok since we did them after we rcvd mb?

What if you have 2 trips planned soon ... Keep same mb's???? OR get new ones???? (Not even sure if 2nd trip resort...bay lake towers... is doing mb in October?)

Thanks!

why can i not add stuff for me but may select my husband and daughter? i am so confused:confused3 off to read all 110 pages!

I can pick Magic Bands for my fiancé for the hotel stay. But I can't pick FP+ for him, just myself. I have him listed on the reservations, but his My Disney Experience Account is not linked to the reservation. I have it linked as a friend, but I can't pick either one for a FP+ ....

CAN ANYONE TELL US WHAT NUMBER YOU CALLED FOR IT????? I have gone back too many pages and no one has ever posted a number.

We are staying at Coronado late October and from previous posts realize that is one resort not participating in the Magic Bands test....but, I am trying to add my park passes to MDE and to save time it said you scan the ticket barcode by using the MDE app...can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know how to scan tickets into the MDE using the app? thanks.

MJ

Well, we used FP+ today for the first time. If the systems were working right it would be great. But we have not had a great experience. Showed up to find only two of our five had the customized bands. The other three of us are stuck with grey. There really was no explanation as to why. We had a name mix up at one point and that is where I think it went wrong. Disney travel says I forgot to bring them from home, ummm, nope I am from Canada and you don't ship there. Then they thought about it and said I only customized two. Ummm, nope and you can see all the colors assigned to us in the app. Whatever.

The bigger problem for us though is that I have no control over booking or making changes to our FP+'s. Both the app and the MDE lock me out, saying I have invalid tickets. Concierge can book for us, but then there are no changes on the fly available to us. IT is still looking to fix it but I am thinking since its the weekend now we won't see anything fixed until at least Monday. We check out and fly home Wednesday so good chance it will not be fixed for our stay.

When you are making the MagicBand customization and ordering, does it ask you what address you want to ship them to and can modify it? I am from Canada but I have a mailbox in Niagara Falls, New York. Would the screens allow me to change the shipping address to U.S.A. even though I am in Canada?

It does ask you to verify your shipping address. There was even a number to call in case of issues.
