MyMagic+ executive gone, now Disney needs to remove certain fast passes

60m visitors in 2012, probably a lot more now. 480,000 members here. Hmm, I say put fastpass on everything, only a few will know what's worth it, those in the know might get to ride more of what they want. :cool1:

But seriously, I'd say FP+ is here to stay, and the people here will adapt and become the experts that they were on FP-. As long as you discuss, research and take your own view on others opinions, your ahead of the game.

I hear executives are often shown the door immediately following a fabulously successful rollout of a new headline program.

Maybe I am missing the point of this, but putting FP on almost everything IS fpp. The same way tiers are Fpp. If anything, they will be adding fpp capacity. You would be better off asking them to scrap Fpp.

While I think that the original post might have been a bit strongly worded,
I fully agree that this IS something worth discussing.

Disney arbitrarily made some significantly negative new "rules" regarding FP.

After all, without the many, many Disney fans who voiced their dissatisfaction with
that new FP+ system, we might still be stuck with only 3 FP+, total, per day.

Well said Robo.:thumbsup2

I don't think you're going to get much traction from Disney on completely removing certain rides from FP+. When people looked at the numbers earlier, those extra attractions were going to be needed during the busy times of the year to help ensure everyone get's "some" FP's. That being said, at the MK, several of the attractions you mentioned could be included as "seasonal" FP+.

What would be interesting to know is what FP+ has done to the average wait time of all guests on these rides not just the standby lines. In general, FP is going to make the standby line longer for every ride in exchange for giving the people with a FP a shorter line. On May 23rd, 7DMT seemed to have an average wait time of 45minutes all day without FP+. Yesterday, May26rd, Average wait times were closer to an hour with the soft opening of FP+. Indications are that the standby lines are even longer today. It will be interesting to see what Standby times are like tomorrow with a "full" prebooking of FP+'s.

I'd like to know also.

I speak for the common folk and the hardcore fans. We will not negotiate with Disney. We fully expect fast pass plus to be removed from certain rides or the we will not attend. Inside numbers show a drop in attendance comparing this spring to 2013.

Disney did not listen to you!!!! The negative FastPass+ folk said they were cancelling their trip-but more folk kept on coming and Disney did not miss them one bit. The only thing negative FastPass+ folk did around here was complain and say LEAVE FASTPASS THE HECK ALONE!! Disney didn't answer to your demands because FastPass+ is here to stay, baby. Negative FastPass+ people--- you LOST! Y'all said FastPass+ was the New Coke and JC Penny and that FastPass+ was going to fail. Well it didn't-----you lost. The people who did not cancel and went on ahead to Disney and tested the system and then filled out the Disney survey are the ONLY ones that get credit here!!!!! The positive FastPass+ folk said this was happening BEFORE it even happened!! That's why I believe them too!! :thumbsup2

Uncle Mike?

Disney doesn't care what rides you choose to ride. What is the purpose of this thread anyways?:confused3

Can someone please direct me to where I can be issued my pitchfork and torch? I want in on the ground floor of this.

You do not speak for me. I do not and would not expect them to remove FP+ from any ride. If you do not wish to attend good for you. One less person ahead of me in line.

I haven't gotten to enjoy the Pirates queue in a longgggg time. It's usually a walk on when I'm there. With that being said, I look forward to enjoying standing in line this June.

These attractions that you're demanding be taken off FP+ are just the ones we're planning to book our FP+ for. Haunted Mansion & Spaceship Earth are two of our favorites (I'd say Pirates as well, but truth be told, we have the better version here at home :rolleyes1 ), and if we want to waste (as some would consider it) our FP choices on that, then so be it. The whole point of the system is that you can book whatever you want for the times that work for you. Taking attractions off the FP+ grid would negate the entire system.

Congrats to Disney for hearing us. As many know, Disney continues to shake up management after such a terrible rollout of my MyMagic+. Now with more than 3 fast passes and adjustments for multiple parks, Disney has gone ahead and parted ways with Nick Franklin, the executive vice president for next generation experience at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Disney needs to push forward. Disney needs to continue to weed out the bullish executives that have mishandled the rollout.

But this can wait.

First, we demand that Disney remove fast passes from attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Spaceship Earth. There is absolutely zero good reasons to have fast passes for these rides. The employee(s) that suggested fast passes for these rides and the employee(s) that accepted this suggestion should be let go. Primitive research has found that fast passes for these rides has caused great fallout. We will no longer accept the fallout of these bad decisions. Within three months I fully expect fast pass removal from these types of rides.

Listening to insiders, I also expect a continued shakeup within Disney going as high as the CEO (retiring soon anyways). With the enormous backlash from a poorly managed mymagic+ to Universal attempting to be a true rival for marketshare, Disney executives are awake and highly concerned. They can continue the repair by removing fast passes from attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Spaceship Earth.

1. Press releases state he left on his own terms.. Yes, there is a good chance he could have been asked to leave too. but no one knows for sure.

2. I highly doubt that if he was "fired" is was not because you are upset that you cannot get more than 3 FPs at the beginninig and rides that in the past did not need one, now have have one and now have lines.

3. IF he was fired , most likely it would be because this project took too long and was overbudget ( which is also not 100% confirmed).

and who says this project is a failure??? Disboarders and other commando fanatics that really used the old FP to their benefit. Nothing wrong with that, but keep in mind the millions and millions of more guest who are clueless and for the first time even realize before their trip there are FPs??

AND FPs are only a small part of MY Magic Plus project, doesnt this entail also Magic bands, online linking/booking, apps etc.... Yes these things have their issues/kinks, but in the end Disney does have something to show for themselves.

And who knows maybe it wasnt even his department that decided on the fast pass rules.. I am assuming, but the way our company works IT develps and enables.. Other department make up the guidelines for their product specifics.. Sooooo maybe the guy in charge of the themparks made up the FP, line rules.... I will admit have no idea how Diseny is set up , but I highly doubt this guy sat for hours and discussed how many FPss one gets. for us its a big deal and maybe the one feature we notice AT times the most, but for the BIG PICTURE , I would think internally his focus was justifying cost by showing increased revenue via increased online package bookings, linking reservations, ease of in park purchasing. and collecting customer data/trends.

UMM No you don't. Well at least not for me. I have been going to WDW since 1986... Did i stop attending when they did away with the Gold Key Card, or when they closed the Top of The World Buffet and Dinner Show, or WHEN THEY CLOSED RIVER COUNTRY???????????? NO

I can see the conversation now with my DW and DD sorry girls we aren't going to WDW anymore because POTC still has FP...........I THINK NOT,

On these boards its fine to voice your opinion, after all thats what the boards are here for but dont speak for all of us.

FP+ has its benefits as a PP mentioned being able to ride Soarin after arriving at Epcot at 4PM, It has its weaknesses as well, but its here to stay

or then we will not attend

I'm sure they'll be all broken up about it.

Seriously, I am all for writing letters to businesses to get what you want, but you have to word it correctly. The way that is worded, it will get a good laugh, maybe go up on a bulletin board even with a "Hey check this one out..." heading, and then get tossed in the trash.
