We have eaten at the RFC before using our vouchers, but it appears things have recently changed..for the better!!

It was me, and 2 dds ages 3 & 6 I had 1 adult and 1 childs voucher. When we were approached by the server, I promptly told him we would be using the vouchers. He than proceeded to "help" me get the most bang out of them. He insisted that the kids did not have to order off the children's menu, so here goes.

Chimi Cha Cha (my favorite app!)
Calamari
Bacon ChesseBurger
Mojo Bones w/ side of (good ribs!)
coconut shrimp (tons of shrimp & very good)
2 Souvenier Icee cups (this was a BIG surprise & the girls loved them)

1 Diet Coke (LOL)
1 Volcano
1 Cappucino

The total was somehere around $120.00 including tax and tip so we did quite well.

Also the server tried to get my 6yo to order the steak & lobster!!
I did slip him an extra tip because he was so accomodating.

Thanks for the report. DH and I will be using a voucher there (AK)this month. We used one last time and had way too much food!

Bacon ChesseBurger,

You got three main meals with one adult and one child?? Everytime we go, it's different rules LOL..but they always do good by us. They told me it's confusing because there are several types of vouchers...and all but the connection ones, alow the frozen drinks..so they get mixed up.

We will be going to the RF in Sept and will be using vouchers. One question, what is Chimi Cha
Cha? Sounds like something I would like to try.
Thanks for posting about your trip to the RF and
using the vouchers.

The kids menu must be new as we were there in June and we didnt have the choice of a child's menu for our child voucher.

We are going in about 2 weeks... and have a trip to rc, with vouchers planned....

From what i have gathered... the kids really couldnt order from the kids menu... as their vouchers as well say appetizer/entree/drink/dessert...
there are no apps on the kid menu....

so... hopefully we will get same waiter as you!

Our family of 5 has 2 ad, vouch, and 2 kid... maybe we wont need all that... lol

This was our 4th time using the vouchers at RFC, and only the first time that the child was allowed to order the entree off the regualr menu. Normally, they do get an appetizer, a childs meal and child dessert and drink. I 'm not sure if this was a fluke or its the new way. Either way though, it still is a good bargain. I think one of the best uses of the voucher. We have used them at other places and have been refused a childs appetizer (le Cellier).

We were just there and had the same thing happen. We had 1 adult voucher and 2 child vouchers (2 adults and 3 children dining). The server insisted that we did not have to order off of the kids menu and we ended up with 3 surf and turfs, 3 appetizers, and 3 deserts. We couldn't finish all the food. We did end up paying $2 for an extra drink though. We gave the server an extra tip as well. I'm sure most people do which is why they are so friendly when they see the vouchers.

We enjoyed the Rain Forest Cafe vouchers so much we ate there twice.

The first time we used one adult and one child voucher. For the child she told us we could order the appetizer and dessert off the adult menu, but the entree had to be a childs entree. We had chicken wings (8.99), chicken strips (7.99), surf and turf (39.99), kids pizza with side of fries (5.99), 2 icee souvenier drinks (5.98) and the chocolate volcano (13.99) plus tax and tip. For the cost of $42 in vouchers.

The second time we used 1 adult and 2 childs vouchers and we were allowed to order off of the adult menu for everything. This time we had the chicken wings (8.99), caribe chicken (7.99), Mozzerella sticks (7.99), mojo bones (22), shrimp platter (22), buffalo chicken salad (13), 3 icee drinks (9), and a volcano (14). For our $54 in vouchers.

The servers were wonderful and friendly. These two meals ended up being a high point for our family! It was really a fun experience.

Will I have enough time to get these vouchers if I am leaving at the end of Sept.

Yes, they only take a few days to ship! Hopefully, this time we get a wait person like that. Ours have been less than helpful in the past.

Please be kind and tell me how I can acquire these same vouchers. I have plenty of time to get them because we don't go until December.

How do you know the rules for them. It sounds like unless you get a good waiter you may be out of luck. Is that true?

There is a post called IMPORTANT at the top of this board. It says something like restaurant vouchers or something like that. I t will give you details.. read that!

I apologize if this has already been answered, but has anyone used the lunch voucher at Rainforest Cafe during dinner hours? Thanks!

When I called to make our PS yesterday, she said they are open until 4:45 (I'm assuming that is the latest PS you can get).

I got a PS for Oct. 13 at AK RFC for 8:15.

Wow..I've never been able to get one that late. I'm sure you double checked and it's not for DTD's Rain Forest, right? We usually get one about 5:30, and when we leave, there is no line for people coming in.

Did you buy your voucher through connections? Again how much was the price for the vouchers you used? Thanks.

The voucher cost is $30.50 thru Connections. I would ck on that reservation for 8:15, maybe it is DTD. I asked how late they were open and she told me 4:45, I made a 3:00 for 10-3.

ceecee,
THANKS! I just called DIS Dining. When I made the ressie, I told the CM that I wanted the earliest dinner I could get for AK RFC. I guess he heard "earliest" only. When I just called they said I had an 8:30 A.M. ressie. YIKES! I changed and got a 5:15 P.M. Thanks for posting.
