Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Evening all!

1. Walking - my chosen form of exercise that I enjoy the most.

2. Watch - like Slo I've never not worn a watch and can't understand people that dont. Mines a Samsung fitness watch and helps me monitor my fitness and walking as above, I'd be lost without it.

3. Walt Disney World - couldn't go with W and not mention this! Already counting down the days till I go back next year, even though i haven't booked it yet...

I love all of your W answers, thank you for always sharing dear friends:)

Absolutely walking! God-willing, one day I will regain normal walking mobility. I sure won't ever take any movement for granted again.

Three more I thought of:

W, my friend who is visiting me tomorrow.

Weather that is sunny both outside and inside our hearts

Happy HUMP Day

For those that know me, they know how much I love working out.

#1 - MY GYM - I go to Planet Fitness, nothing special, but it is special to me - it’s large, it’s clean, the employees are friendly and the people I’ve met there are people I genuinely enjoy seeing when I go. A few are now Facebook friends with me.

#2 - CARDIO MACHINES - I use them all to mix things up and what I use depends on the day.

#3 - WEIGHTS - I love lifting weights and I love pushing myself to lift heavier and heavier all the time. I’m in no way anywhere near what some would call a power lifter, but I do feel I can lift heavier weight than many other women my age, which is almost 54.

I'm so behind!!

The 22nd was random stuff day. I'm grateful for the equinox. Twice a year, I get to watch DH delight in balancing eggs on their ends. DH might be 65 with a PhD in biophysics, but he's just a kid at heart!
States/capitals- We went to trivia on Monday night and this was a category. We got 8 of 10 correct! Would have been 10/10 if they listened to me, but the rest of the team are guys... you know how that can go!
Ice cream cones- I love ice cream served on a plain cone. The best part is when the ice cream packs into the cone; creamy deliciousness with a satisfying crunch!

The 23rd: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL, LOVELY DAUGHTER!
W-things... Wonderful daughter! DD turned 32 yesterday. She has grown in so many ways over the past 5 years, including healing from a long-term abusive relationship, getting together with the guy who's adored her for 13+ years and marrying him (and his son as part of the bargain, the LittleGuy), buying a house, earning her master's degree and licensing.
Woodchucks- We have the cutest guy who lives out under our shed. He's tunneled so he can come out under a wood pile, too. He's funny to watch, so rolly-poly as he meanders around the yard, eating all the dandelions! He's amusing and our yard always looks great: Win-win!
Windshield wiper blades- DH just "did the cars" this weekend. He does an annual interior deep cleaning, washes and waxes the outsides, tops up fluids and puts the winter kits (blanket, flash light, litter, shovel, scraper/brush) in the back. He also replaces the blades on my wipers, and it's just amazing, how much better I can see in the rain!

Today- I pretty much have nothing. I am a dedicated couch potato who needs to move and get stronger but can't get over my own inertia. I SHOULD go walking or to the gym when I get up each morning, but that's the time where I check in on my online friends, deal with attendance issues and other student email, etc., from the comfort of my bed, coffee in hand. I have a Disney trip coming up in November, including a Keys to the Kingdom tour, and I KNOW I need to be stronger for this. Fitness/sports were never part of my family when I was growing up. I know I need to do better... it's just doing it that's an issue. I guess I should be grateful that I live in small-town America so it's safe to go walking alone at pretty much any hour of the day or night; that I have a job with great benefits including free access to a pretty much state of the art gym (which I have used, sometimes regularly- like the exercise bike so I can read, and the upper body weight machines). I just have to get back to it all... but maybe I'll go for a walk right now!

Happy belated birthday to your daughter dear Lee! She is sure blessed you are her mom. I hope she had a great day :)

Exercise in general is a blessing. I pray today to finally get the longer term recovery care I truly need that will best enable me to get as back to normal as I can over the next few months.

God willing when I am back to normal, I will enjoy neighborhood walks.

Memories of enjoying swimming especially as a kid but also in my younger adult years.
