My HRH rate disappeared!

I am so mad at myself. I was online around midnight and found the rate I wanted at HRH for August (either 4 for free, or AAA). I wanted to add some information to my reservation (and I was tired) so I figured I would call a real person in the am. I called at 7am and poof the rates were both gone! I do not want to pay the higher rate now. Soooo. I can still get good rates at RPR. I was all set on HRH but am rethinking now. From the map, it appears RPR is not as convenient to the parks - is this correct? Also, it just does not look as fun for my 3 kids (6,9,12). I am torn between paying more for what I really want, or going to RPR. We have never been to Universal Studios, and will probably not return as it is a long trip for us from Washington State. I appreciate any help. I an SO MAD AT MYSELF for not making the res online last night!!!!!

Hi, What was your HRH rate ?? I come up with $259.per nite for 4 nites (with2 free adult tickets) for the beginning of August.This is on the Universal website. This is the same rate I have for the 19-23rd of July and I have not seen any cheaper (I keep checking!) I also have AAA, but can you get the free tickets if you use this discount?? Joan

RPR is more convenient to IOA. HRH is more convenient to USF. It doesn't really make much difference.

Your rate may still pop up.

My dates are Aug 3 - Aug 7. I will check again, but those dates stopped getting both the AAA and 4 free rates. I wanted the 259 with 4 free tickets because it was actually a better deal, but the AAA rate would have been acceptable. Aug 3 - Aug 8 works, as does Aug 4 - Aug 8. I even made a reservation for Aug 3 - Aug 8 then called to cancel the last day of it. They would not allow me to because the rate was not allowed for my days even though there were 4 days as required. Unfortunately, staying until the 8th is not going to work. I just checked again - no AAA or "4 Free" rates for my time period.

When I do a search for any rates for July 31-Aug 4, the only thing I see is the King Suite being available. I guess they are gonna be pretty busy. We are staying at the HRH instead.....lots of rooms and options available.

Wow, I too see that ALL the discounted rates are gone for HRH! They don't even have the military rate available anymore. I am glad we made seperate reservations so we can decide which rate we want to use later into the summer.

I wonder exactly what is going on. Not long ago I checked the RPR and the only thing they had available was a King Suite. There were no discounts of any kind (MIL, APH, AAA) available. Now, I look and while no discounts, they have all rooms types available.

PBH appears to still have the AAA available. I'm thinking the other hotels are filling?????? What do you think the chances of getting a lower rate for the other hotels late July/early Aug will be? I'm trying to get something cheaper than what I have with MIL discount.

Hmmm. I made a reservation yesterday and got the "Play for free" rate for two rooms in mid-June.

I never saw a military rate, though. Is that something USF has offered before?

I would just book it and then keep checking the rates. You can always call back and change your reservation up until like 5 days before your trip.

Not sure about previous years because it has been 5 years since our last visit (and we got ENT rates that were a steal compared to now), but yes, they do offer a military discount. The code is MIL. My dates are late July/early Aug. The rate disappeared a few days ago.

I did a quick search for mid June...entered June 12-16 MIL rates.....

Beware when changing your reservation. If you have a Thurs - Mon reservation, they will not allow you to change it to Fri - Mon., unless that exact rate is still available as a new booking. Strange, but true. Wouldn't it be nice if they warned us the rates were going to disappear instead of saying they are available if booked by April 2 (Play 4 Free package).??? I would think if rooms are available, and the package says book by April 2 for 4 nights, the package would be honored.
