My first trip to WDW and DH's first time being arrested (Dec 2009)

Hi, on Backstage Gal's advice, I came over to check you out, and Wow!, I think I'm in love..........with RIG!.

Ok, ok, but yes he does sound like a heck of a guy. You do an outstandiing job with descriptions and phrasing, and yes, this does read like a romance novel. Really impressed and I'm trying to guess what happened. :woohoo:

So do you read this story and picture the southern accent? I always give voices to the characters when I am reading a book.
Do you have an idea of what we look like? I would love to hear it.

Yes, I do picture the southern accent. I have been watching "Say yes to the Dress Atlanta" lately, so I use this as a frame of reference for the accent.

What you physically look like, I'm picturing Rig kinda of a mix between the cute cowboy from The Amazing Race (Jet), and the cowboy from Big Brother (Steven). As for you, I was picturing you cute and blonde, but you said you're not blonde so I'm confused. :rotfl:

My fiance is a very sweet and caring man too. He used to be quite the gentleman, opening doors for me, but had mostly stopped because I didn't respond so well to it. Part of it was not being used to it, so I felt like "I can take care of myself". After reading your part about it, it made me see it in a different way and tonight I told him I would appreciate it if he started doing it again. He said he'd try, but it's hard for him to do because I just walk too darn fast so he is always behind me once we reach the door. :rotfl2:
Hope our relationship continues to grow with us being so close and caring for each other, and I hope the same for you too. :lovestruc

Can't wait to read more!!

yay.. Im glad i checked in before i went to bed to see if there were any updates today and there were a couple... since my 15 month old wont let me touch the computer when he is awake i have to wait until he goes to bed... ill check tomorrow..

Im a little nervous about mission space, Im guessing the orange side is the one that is more intense. Im sure thats the one we will ride.. but im still nervous..

When I read:

Grant started bawking like a chicken at me. Rig turned to face him and put 1 finger on his chest and pushed him back. "Don't make fun of her, she's scared and that's not something to make fun of."

I stopped breathing for a moment... Rig does not play!

I have enjoyed reading your story so much!! You have such a knack for drawing the reader in, to be able to capture your emotions and convey them in such a way that we, the audience, feels it for ourselves! That's an awesome talent!

I, too, married young. I was 19, DH was 20. We met 15 years ago (we were 17 at the time), and got married after dating for 2.5 years. NO ONE in our family thought it would last. Now 12 wonderful years of marriage later, we have a 4 year old daughter, and 6 month old daughter and we are taking them to Disney World for the very first time later this year!! I can't wait! DH doesn't get the hoopla, but I do. I am so excited I can't stand myself!

I have to say that when I read your story, I totally picture the movie Coal Miners Daughter! Have you ever heard of it? It's a little before your time, but a classic! You as Loretta Lynn (played by Sissy Spacek) and Rig as Doolittle "Doo" (played by Tommy Lee Jones). They are not your story (completely), but that's who I imagine. Not sure why either, since I'm from Texas too!!

Nebo,. yay, so glad you made it over. Isn't this a great story?
Not to take anything away from yours, still love yours too!:worship:

I'm feeling a little bit like a match maker, LOL.

All, please go read Nebo's reports, very funny and great people.

NO, NO, NO, PLEASE DON'T CUT YOUR REPORT SHORT JUST TO GET TO THAT. IT WOULD TOTALLY DISTRACT FROM THE EXPERIENCE.

Please just keep going as you are and dont rush anything, nobody will die having to wait a bit longer. It's all part of the journey.
BTW, I would NEVER try the Orange ride, I'm suprised you did it after being so scared on BTM which is fairly tame.

My DD's boyfriend at the time walked out of it looking green for almost an hour, and they put in the tamer orange side later because so many people go sick on it. Personally I have no desire to go on either side. I hate tight spaces. Soarin' on the other hand is my favorite, and I have a fear of falling myself, so go figure, but I am so glad I did it (multiple times now)

I won't cut it short, I'm really nervous about telling the arrest story though, the closer it gets the more nervous I feel. I have relived that night so many times in my head, and Rig and I have talked about it but not in depth for a long time now. I guess maybe the Dis will be my therapy couch and I might get some things worked out.

I am glad that I went on soarin and Mission Space was fun, I can ride spinning rides all day, it's Rig who gets to feeling pukey.

Long time lurker but this trip report has got me hooked so I am subscribing! :)
Thank you for subscribing and for coming out of hiding.

I agree with you Lee, the details are what makes it interesting. He's enjoying too so don't let him fool ya!
He very much enjoyed the FANG part and the details are what made that so funny!!!

I agree, don't skip anything, we are all grown ups, we can be patient! (Course I am thinking Grant and Jenny must be involved in this arrest somehow, but you said you are friends which sounds like you still are....HMMM..yeah, I am enjoying the suspense a lot!)

Rig called me all sorts of names after I bit him, Fang, Jaws, vampira, he even one time referred to me as Hannibal lecter, that part is coming up soon.

We are still friends with Grant and Jenny, and they didn't have anyting to do with the arrest. You are going to be so floored, I was even floored.

Just found your trip report today, and I'm totally hooked. You have a great writing voice.

BTW, My husband's from El Paso and his family used to spend summers in Cloudcroft.
Thank you so much, "a great writing voice," I like that, it sounds poetic.

Another person now from El Paso? Where in Cloudcroft did his family vacation. has he ever heard of Inn of the Mountain Gods? Rig and I snuck off one weekend and stayed there for a night.

You are such a talented writer! I'm enjoying your report very much!
thank you, I know I say this to practically every poster, but I really do mean it, thank you.

Wow, just found this TR and I am loving it! You are such a great writer! You write in such great detail that I don't even need pictures. I have been picturing everything in my head. Can't wait for more!

:lmao: In love with Rig. You know...there's a guy in town who is "precious" if you know what I mean? He's a little sweet on Rig, he once came into the diner and asked me if I could get him a picture of Rig. I told him I am too much of a jealous woman to share any pictures of Rig.

Thank you so much for the compliment, it means alot coming from you, you are my favorite trip report writer and I feel honored that you would stop over here and take a look.

I don't watch say yes to the dress, I might have to tune in so Ican hear what you are imagining.

Rig doesn't look like Jet or Steven, but it's funny you mention the amazing race, I love Reality TV and Rig doesn't but he'll watch a few of them with me. He was all about the amazing race when the cowboys were on it. I would joke with him that we could never do the amzing race together, we would come in dead last because he would be too busy openin gdoors for the other woman on the show and carrying their bags for them

I'm not blonde, but sometimes I have blonde highlights.

Oh, I really hope your husband starts opening doors for you again. Slow down and let him lead, or better yet, walk by his side.

I am sure you cherish those moments with your son though, this trip report will always be here, enjoy that baby now.

Each time I rode mission space, even though I had already ridden the orange side, I still got nervous, just until after it launches, then I eould be fine. You will like it.

No, Rig doesn't play. He speaks up when it comes to me.

luckylady131;37832214 I have enjoyed reading your story so much!! You have such a knack for drawing the reader in said:

Thank you for the compliments. All of the compliments I have been getting is really boosting my confidance to try and write a novel. I just need to get through this disney story first.

I think if I had a 4 year old daughter, the perfect age for castles and princesses, I would be going crazy waitin gto take her to Disney, do you ever get so excited that you have to scream into a pillow or something to keep from exploding?

I just saw the coal minors daughter, it was on TV maybe a week ago, I watched it with Rig and he said I reminded him of Loretta Lynn. I couldn't see how that was, I'm not even remotely close to being a good singer.

Rig said it was more the way she was innocent, but mostly because she was annoying and talked too much.

Doolittle didn't remind me of Rig at all though.

Nebo,. yay, so glad you made it over. Isn't this a great story?
Not to take anything away from yours, still love yours too!:worship:

I'm feeling a little bit like a match maker, LOL.

All, please go read Nebo's reports, very funny and great people.

Maybe Nebo and I could write a romantic comedy?:confused3 Of course we would have to include smidgy, her commentary on their trip report is just as funny.

yes people, go read Nebo's trip report, NOW!:cutie:

thank you, I'm glad I am able to create a picture with words. I am still hoping Rig will let me post pictures, even 1 little tiny picture. I have to pace myself though. I can't hound all at once, he's pretty good at picking ;)up little hints.

I am still loving it and can not wait to read more. I think that when you get to go again I would like to be there at the same time as you guys just so i could experience a man opening the doors for me and may be try your relaxing go where the day takes you kind of way.

Off topic I love reality TV, my husband not to much but will watch some of it with me too. What was up with the nominations on big brother tonight? how does either of those to leaving help Brendon out. I do not think they were that good.

I think this is by far the best trip report I have read on here to date. I am loving every minutes of it. I have laughed, I've gasped, I've clapped. It's awesome. I've spent 2 hours reading each and every post. Not going to be pretty in the morning when I have to get up super early to take my son to a cardiology appointment, but so worth it!

BTW, I love the innoncence in your writing style, if that makes sense. It reminds me of an author, whose name escapes me at the present. If I remember, I will let you know.

Can't wait for the next installment!

Just wanted to add:

While pictures are usually the reason I look at trip reports, I am loving this one without them. I personally think you should not include a picture until the end, if Rig agrees. It just keep the mystery and suspense going. :)

Oh man. Like everyone else here, I'm totally hooked! Your headline intrigued me but your writing is what made me read this in one setting. Even though I was supposed to be in bed over an hour ago! :)

At this point all I have to say is that you two are adorable! I'm a little jealous you snagged a cowboy (I always wanted to be a cowgirl) but of course I wouldn't give up my real life knight in shining armor. :lovestruc

Thanks for sharing your trip! I can't wait to read about the rest of it.

I totally agree WeLoveToyStory, I am enjoying picturing them in my head.

Lee, with your fear of heights, how did you do with flying?? I, too, have a huge HUGE fear of heights so Im a little nervous. I have flown many other times and it was only until the past couple times did it really bother me. The last time we went to Fl there were 5 adults and only my DD who was 14 mo's so I was able to take some Zanax and pass out before the plane took off. This time I won't have that luxury so I think I will just have to plan on hyperventilating the entire time.

just curious because as each day gets closer to the flight the more I just want to get in my car and meet my family there.

I found your trip report the other day and I have been hooked. I love it so much it is hard for me to leave it and come back. I have been very busy with my own little family and our love story (lol) we have an 8 week old, a 19 month old and a 3 yr old. Seriously though, you are a fantastic writer, you write a stroy just like I tell one and if you blog or write a novel, I will be first in line to read it!! I am loving your story so much, that I had to call my sister this morning and I read her the first four pages (lol, that is how crazy I am over it, she is hooked and probably reading it on her own now).

We have a big group of us going to WDW in Sept, this is our second family trip, we went last year and have been saving ever since to be able to go again. I cried (only a few tears) when watching our little ones see the Train full of characters arrive at the station and the opening ceremonies before entering Magic Kingdom, it was definitely a dream come true to be there especially as a family!! I am so happy you and Rig had an amazing time, I will for sure be thinking of you when we are there!!

I can't wait to read more!! Btw, my hubby is the same with the saying I talk too much and have way too many details, he is forever saying to me "Coles notes Lindsay", but when I give him the "coles notes" he asks a hundred questions, so, I just tell it my way lol!! Keep up the great work!!

This is the best TR ever! I've neglected my real life for hours now, reading this! Can't wait for more! :surfweb:
