My first trip to WDW and DH's first time being arrested (Dec 2009)

Patiently waiting for the next update. I was enjoying this before, but now I'm riding the high from booking our trip for next fall and so I'm enjoying it all the more. I need all the Disney fixes I can get between now and next Sept!

Also, I just wanted to say that I too am a reformed city girl. I love living in my small town. I just miss the shopping...

wow, i just found this report and i must say i love it. i leave in 8 hours to go to disney world and i thank goodness my dh has an iphone so i can check for updates at night. seriously i want to buy the book your writing rocks
This time tomorrow you will be in disney World and I will be here talking about disney World. Wanna trade?:confused3 ;) didn't think you would.

I seriouly am hooked. My favorite song on my CD was playing when I pulled in, normally I'd finish the song before coming in, but I didn't. The I put away just the perishables before coming to catch up.

I love Test Track too, it's great. I have not been on Mission Space, hubby and the girls do it but they said it is one I wouldn't handle well and so I have taken their word for it. I am always curious about it but after our 3rd daughter was born I developed motion sickness so I have decided not getting sick is best. They thought I could handle EE, and I didn't so well, I didn't get sick but I felt kind of "teacuppy" for a couple hours after.
Mickeymomofthree, you are so loyal to me. thank you. I have a vision of your kitchen table covered with cans and boxes of cereal.

You felt "teacuppy" I love that word and I am going to use it now.

This is KILLING me! :scared1: I keep checking back every few minutes to see if you are back from your errand. Your writing is amazing. I love Nicholas Sparks, but I think you remind me more of Adrianna Trigiani. If you haven't read her "Big Stone Gap" series you really should.

Epcot is my favorite park. My family loves it too. When DD rode Mission: Space for the first time she was 7. When she got off she jumped up and down screaming, "I'm alive! I'm alive!" Yes, I felt a little guilty with all those people looking at me like "what has she done to her child?" But she loved it. :)

I can't wait to see what you and Rig thought of World Showcase- or maybe you didn't get that far. Still waiting to find out about the upcoming arrest. popcorn::
I am sorry my errand took so long, Rig was trying to fix the toilet at the bossmans house, Rig is not a plummer and this is what gripes my hinde, he was hired to work the ranch, there is alot of work that comes in a day for him, but every time something needs fixing at the boss mans house they call Rig, and he goes without complaining, he even once put a new alternator in the bossmans wifes car.
So tonight I had to go get a gasget for the toilet, then I had to go get a floater mechanism. 2 trips into town, not that it's far, but then I had to make dinner, so here I am finally.

I haven't heard of Adrianna Trigiani, is she some what like Nicholas Sparks?

I have to subscribe to this report. Just waiting to see how your husband gets locked up, I am certain it will be interesting.

By the way, very nice job writing this report. You certainly have a talent.
I guess you could say the arrest was interesting, I know it was scary.

thank you for the compliment.

I'm sure it must of been nice to go around with people who knew what to do and when.
I'm sure the girl must of been jealous since you and Rig have a better relationship then her and her DH who were just married!
Are they still happy together? Do you guys keep in tough?
I can NOT wait to hear about the arrest! Is that in tonight's update?
It was so nice having our own personal tour gguides at Epcot.
Jenny and I had a talk about the way our men treated us girls. She and Grant had been living together for 3 years before they got married, so I think they were just over the whole being deeply in love thing. We do keep in touch by phone, and according to Jenny things are better with them, I think it had alot to do with Rig taking Grant out for a beer one night. that's just my opinion.

Oh sure, he knows the Inn of the Mountain Gods -- but they never stayed anywhere that fancy growing up. He says they had a cabin in Robin Hood Park when he was small, if you know where that is. He and his little brother had to wear cow bells when they went running around the woods, so their parents could hear where they were.

Eagerly waiting for the next installment....
Inn of the mountain Gods was super fancy, they had jacuzzi tubs in the room and some had hot tubs on their balcony.

I don't know where Robin Hood Park is, I haven't even heard of it.
Putting cowbells on the kids to keep them safe, that is priceless.

seriously, quit your day job. just keep writing.
then I would be a starving artist.

I'm planning to go around the same time this year and we are even staying at POP Century! can't wait to hear the rest I love your story so far! I can definitely understand the family issues too! glad you guys were able to overcome it, :thumbsup2
Oh have a great time at Disney world this year. Enjoy the castle lights for me.

Wow, the more and more I read, the more and more Grant sounds like he needs to take some tips from Rig on how to be a better person to Jenny!

So proud of you for riding Test Track!
I couln't agree with you more, it was pretty bad, he loved Jenny, but he didn't show it with any gestures.

Ok, now that's just all I can take. LOL Tell about the ARREST!!!I promise I will read every last word, but I need to know what happened!

I was hoping that we would get anther installment befor I went to be but I guess not. oh well something to look forward to for tomorrow.

So this time around on soarin we had a foot view. After a few seconds into the ride I didn't really notice it hardly. I did notice more things this time around then I did the first time. jenny tried to point out a hidden mickey to me in the snowy mountain scene, but I just didn't see it.

I looked over to see what Rig was doing and he was watching the screen this time instead of me. I was happy to see that he was enjoying this ride, his feet were swinging.

when the ride was over Rig of course helped me out with my belt, he took his hat from under the seat and we left.

It was raining so hard outside, coming down in straight sheets. We stood outside under the protective roofing of the building and contemplated our next move.

Grant suggested we go to one of the inoventions or Spaceship earth. Rig pulled out his cell phone and checked the time. "Lee and I have lunch reservations at Coral Reef in an hour."

So Jenny said we could go check out the finding Nemo Ride since it was right next door to Coral Reef.
I just know that if Rig and I would have been on our own we might have missed alot, it was nice not having to open a map and figure out where in the park we were and where we needed to get to next. I did like how Rig and I went through Magic Kingdom at our own pace, but I think Epcot needs more thought put into touring it.

We tried to wait the rain out, we waited a good 10 minutes, that whole saying about not liking the florida weather? give it a minute it will change. That saying was debunked that day. It just kept raining. We decided to make a run for it.
by the time we got to finding nemo my feet were soaked. Grant had taken off his flip flops to run, I wish I would have thought to take off my shoes .

We found the entrance for Nemo and began our long journey. At one time I am sure this ride had to of been popular, the line area was so long and winding. the theming was fun, it would have been more fun if my shoes weren't squishy with every step. Right now there wasn't anybody in this line. we were all alone in it, alone, wet, tired and still walking.
"Are you sure there's a ride here?" asked Rig "we've been walking for some time now."

Jenny snorted, "there's a ride here, it just around the corner."

We went around the corner and I saw....more winding rows of empty line.

"where's the ride Jenny?" Rig kept repeating himself, "where's the ride Jenny?

Jenny snorted louder, "Around the corner Rig." We would go around the corner and..."where's the ride Jenny?"

We did get to the ride, I would like to say that my shoes and socks had dried out by the time we got there, but they didn't.

We boarded our clam mobiles and settled in for a fun under water adventure.
I love the movie finding Nemo, really there isn't a Disney movie I don't like, except for The princess and the Frog, it was a great concept and the story was cute, the moral was beautiful, but it just seemed too dark and too evil. Rig likes to say when it comes to ouija boards and black magic "Don't mess wit da voodoo."

This was a cute ride, I thought so anyway. Nothing magical, funny or embarassing happened on it. I didn't scream, or bite. I just sat and enjoyed.

We got off the ride and I heard for the umpteenth time today Grant say to Jenny, "hey don't forget the bag."

Jenny was carrying the bag and Rig offered to carry it for her."she can carry it, Grant barked, she's not helpless."

"Are you helpless Grant?, cause Jenny has been carrying that bag all day." I thought oh noooooo, we aren't that good of friends for Rig to be saying that to Grant.

"It's her turn to carry it, I'll carry it tomorrow, we already decided."

Rig sucked in a deep breath and let it out slowly, "You could carry it for her everyday."

Jenny spoke up, "It's ok, I don't mind carrying the bag."

So Rig let it go and we moved on to the picture opp area with all the sharks.
that was fun, I had to climb into that sharks mouth. I waited in line with all the other kids. It was my turn I climbed in and Rig was waiting by the mouth.

Grant said "let me get a picture of you looking like you are trying to pull her out of the sharks mouth."

So Rig gave him the camera and we did the funny pose, then Rig said, "Now get one of me looking like I'm trying to stuff her in the sharks mouth."

We took pictures with other sharks too. I like funny pictures like that.

We went over to see the manatees. "Rig, I want a manatee."

"Let's start small with a gold fish or something."

It was time to say goodbye to our friends and go to Coral Reef. Grant wanted to exchange numbers and meet up again that night, "Maybe we could grab a beer at the bar?"

We had dinner plans that night and didn't know what time we would get done, we did take their numbers and said we would call them some time during the trip. Jenny asked me about our park plans. we discovered that we both had Animal Kingdom planned for the 10th, so if anything else we would do that park together.
Rig and I had plans to go to Animal Kingdom the next day by ourselves, Jenny and Grant were going to Sea World. they asked us if we wanted to go with them but Rig and I without even talking to eachother knew that we wanted alone time.

the guys shook hands, and us girls gave hugs. We parted ways at the gift shop.

Rig and I went to coral Reef literally out the door and to the left.
the place was packed. We gave our last name and they handed us a buzzer.
there wasn't any place to sit, so we sat on the floor.

We were trying to figure out if the lights were supposed to be coral or sea creatures when our buzzer went off. we stood up and took it to the podium. Jenny and Grant were there. "what are you doing here?"

Jenny said that they were hoping to get a table but it was all booked. as much as I didn't want to do this, I did. "Can you maybe sit at our table?"

"Oh no, that's fine, we just wanted to get out of the rain, but you have fun, this is a great place." and they left, just like that.

We followed the CM to the end of the hall and into the restaurant, I fell in love with it right away.

"Rig this is so fancy, and look, I pointed to the wall, "they have live fish in the walls."

the CM said "it's an Aquarium"

"and it's in the wall", I repeated

I was growing more and more excited as we followed the CM, he was leading us down to the first level, and then he gave us a table right next to the aquarium, in the wall.

"Omagosh, Rig this is like being under water."

Rig took his coat off and laid it on the chair next to him. "I literally feel like I'm under water, my boots are filled with water, my jeans are dripping, I feel miserable."

"You should have bought a poncho for yourself."

"If this rain keeps up I will."

Our Pop was brought out to us and we started looking at the menu. Emily our trip agent, said this place had great seafood, I was looking forward to shrimp, or fish, crab legs, but they didn't have anything like that. "Babylee, what is cous cous?"

"I don't, what is Mahi Mahi?"

we looked over that thing for so long, like if we kept staring at it something edible sounding would appear for us to order. "Rig , what if we were to just get up and leave?"

"Should we?"

"It would be better to leave now then to order food and it taste like feet or something."

We took too long to make a decision about leaving. Our waitress came to take our order. "Are we ready to order?"

Rig put his hand to his chin and rubbed it, he looked at the menu. "I'm not sure what to get, it all looks so good."

I'm laughing out loud while yelling liar in my head.

"Can I make a few suggestions?" she asked

"That would be great."

she went on and on about this with that sauce and that with a hint of this, it all sounded greek to me.

"Could we maybe just get a steak, and a plain baked potato, maybe some kind of green vegetable."

She smiled like she was trying to hide the fact that she hated her job. "I will see what they can do for you in the kitchen."

"We'd appreciate that."

Rig and I sat back and watched the fish. "Omagoah Rig, that's a shark. Do you think he see us sitting here and it makes him hungry?"

We were watching the fish and trying to identify them with the cards when the CM who had seated us came over carrying a gift store bag. "this was dropped off for you." He handed me the bag.

I opened it and it had a picture frame in it. It was wooden with mickey heads all around it. There was a note that said "Dear Lee and Rig, Happy Belated wedding, or early anniversary. Love Jenny and Grant.

I got so full of tears, they started to fall. "Rig we made good friends at Disney world."

Awwwwwwwwww Lee that was so sweet of them.
Made me tear up a little too.
I really like the coral Reef restaurant, but it is a little hoity toity. ;)

Enjoying the trip report. :thumbsup2

KIM

I texted Jenny, thank you for the frame, we love it. Actually it was thank u 4 frame we luv it.

"Rig, we need to get them something now, but if we get them something they will think we only got them something because they got us something."

"Babylee, just rest your mind for a while."

"My mind is rested."

He leaned back in his chair, "then let my mind rest for a while."

I tried to let his mind rest, but I couldn't. I talked to him about everything, Soarin, Mission space, test track, "We still have those fast passes for test track, we have to use them"

Our waitress came back with steaks and potatos for us, the potatos were cut open and green stuff was poured on them, but the steak looked good. It taste good too. I was stuffed but Rig could have eaten more.

Dessert, I want to talk about dessert now.
Our waitress said that the chocolate wave was a favorite there, so that is what we ordered. Rig also ordered coffee, "Please don't put any fancy stuff in it, just plain black coffee."

Our dessert came out quickly, omagosh it looked so good, I picked up my fork and cut into it, gooey goodness poured out of it in a ....:idea:wave. OK the chocolate wave.

I ate all of mine, I would have licked the plate and Rigs plate and any other plate of a person who ordered the chocolate wave. I have never before and probably will never again (unless I go back to Coral Reef) taste something that was so devine.

We settled up the bill, figured out the tip and then left. It was still raining. We were told by Grant that if it's raining they won't run test track, so we decided to skip test track and go to space ship earth.

I asked Rig if he wanted to stop and by a poncho. "What's the point now Lee?" :confused3

Space ship earth was nice, it was comfortable, relaxing and a great place to take a nap. Rig and I both dozed off, our little picture thing at the end was empty. "Should we get in line and go again?" Rig asked

His cell phone beeped right then, he was getting a text.

"It's my brother Truck, he and Tonya just got in and want to know if we are still meeting for dinner tonight?"

"Are we?"

"I think so."

So Rig texted back and we decided to go back to the resort at that time to warm up and maybe get a nap.

Now I know you are all thinking right now that Rig was kicked out and disowned by his family when he was 19, this is true, he was. but his older brother Truck (his real name is Trucker but it sounds funny to say brother trucker) Had called Rig after Rig moved to El Paso, Truck and Rig talked maybe a few times a year.

Truck had called Rig right around thanksgiving, maybe a week or so before our trip. Rig had told him about our trip to Disney and Truck said he would be doing a trip to Kissimee that week and would have a night there before heading out again. Truck wanted to meet up.
I remember that night, Rig came into the kitchen, I was trying to make candy apples.

"Babylee, is it too late to change a few things around on our trip?"

I was scared, I thought maybe work was going to interfere. "Like what?

"Some dinner reservations."
he told me about Truck wanting to meet up. We ended up not having to change anything, but just add a reservation, We made a call to Disney and asked if they had anything available for downtown Disney, we didn't know what restaurants were there, Emily had helped me make all of our reservations. the CM on the phone said she had an 8:05pm opening at Planet Hollywood, and we took it.

Lee, I've been so hooked reading your TR.. love, love it!!!! Rig so reminds of the two "cowboys" on amazing race and they were just the best guys!!!

I've got a bad feeling though about Downtown Disney, being the place of the title topic......:confused3

Oh Lee, that is so nice how Grant and Jenny left the frame for you. At first I thought, "these are Disney people, they know there isn't going to be a table at Coral Reef" and of course!, they weren't there for a table but your gift. That was so nice.
Oh and last night the groceries were still in the bags. I am a very organized grocery shopper, I put all the non perishabes on the converbelt and leave a big space and then all the perishables. That some from year of having to hurry up and grocery shop and get everything put away before rushing off to pick up a kid (or kids) somewhere. This way the perishables get put away and whenever there is time I put away the rest. When I didn't do it that way no doubt something would get left in the bottom of a bag. :headache: My non-perishables are waiting for me this morning, I got hooked on Dis and Facebook once I sat down last night. :rotfl:
Now I am thinking "what did his brother do...?" It must be him who got sweet Rig in trouble! :headache: Can't wait for more...

all right, his family disowned him, he hasn't seen his brother in years. I am assuming there are some hard feelings there so I'm going to guess this is where the arrest happens? can't wait to read more...

okay so i am just trying coral reef on this trip and heard great things about it! So u got me more excited:) Also I am eating at Planet Hollywood on a night we dont have the meal plan! So how was it???

"I am sorry my errand took so long, Rig was trying to fix the toilet at the bossmans house, Rig is not a plummer and this is what gripes my hinde, he was hired to work the ranch, there is alot of work that comes in a day for him, but every time something needs fixing at the boss mans house they call Rig, and he goes without complaining, he even once put a new alternator in the bossmans wifes car.
So tonight I had to go get a gasget for the toilet, then I had to go get a floater mechanism. 2 trips into town, not that it's far, but then I had to make dinner, so here I am finally.

I haven't heard of Adrianna Trigiani, is she some what like Nicholas Sparks?
"

Please don't apologize. You still have to live your life. :) I just need to learn to patience. I'm working on it.
Adriana Trigiani writes wonderful books. They aren't the kind of love stories that Sparks writes, but they are still love stories in their own way. In her Big Stone Gap series she writes about a girl living in a small town in Virginia. Her mother is Italian and she has a poor relationship with her dad. Then she discovers that her dad isn't really her dad. Later she falls in love. It's a great series. The first one is called Big Stone Gap. The next books are Big Cherry Holler, Milk Glass Moon, and Home to Big Stone Gap. They really are great books. I think you'd like them.

OK, I seriously thought it was a joke when you asked Rig about his name and why his parents didn't just name him "Truck" Then he said because his brother's name is Truck! So it really is Truck! Wow...his parents really did like their job! I do think Trucker sounds cool though...but Rig is a Really Cool name!

I really hope you get to the part about the arrest soon!!! We leave for Disney on Friday, and I am no so lucky as to have internet on my phone (yet!) so I will be without my RigLee fix for a week! Whatever will I do? I will just have to park my booty in front of the computer when we get back and let the kids do the unpacking!:rotfl2: or maybe :scared1: is more appropriate! Anyway...keep it coming!

I have to come out of lurkdom to say you are an awesome writer Lee popcorn:: and I have to tell you that my DH will not let me carry our bag through the park either. :littleangel: He has been my knight in shining armor and the love of my life, for the last eleven years. We went to Disney World for our Honeymoon too. And have been going back every year since. :woohoo:

I am leaving for dinsey world in 3 days, and instead of packing for my family of 6, I've been in a dream like state, reading your TR. I have to say, I love reading your report.

Thank you!!!!!

I guess I'll be packing like a crazy lady today! I finally caught up. I too don't want you to rush ANYTHING. Now I have to make sure I pack my laptop! Between you and Nebo, I'll have some late at night reading.

This is a great spin on TR writing and I hope to be able to read more reports from you. I'd be happy to read ANYTHING from you. Have you thought of blog writing?

Patiently waiting for the next update. I was enjoying this before, but now I'm riding the high from booking our trip for next fall and so I'm enjoying it all the more. I need all the Disney fixes I can get between now and next Sept!

Also, I just wanted to say that I too am a reformed city girl. I love living in my small town. I just miss the shopping...
I can't wait to book another trip. Rig needs a new (newer) truck in the worst way so we are saving for that. I do try and put as much of my tip money away as I can but I always end up dipping into it. So like you I read alot of trip reports to keep my mind full of Disney.

:banana:woohoo, a reformed city girl.

Lee, I was listening to my Tim Mcgraw CD, I thinks it's a greatest hits, or a favorites or something, but every song he sang I could just picture you and Rig.

I love the movie armagedon too, I laughed so hard when you said Rig started singing. I could just picture it.

Oh and today at work, (Bed Bath and Beyond) A lady went paid for her purchases with a Disney credit card, I like when that happens because it's my excuse to talk Disney. Well it turns out this lady is a diser and she said she was reading this great trip report and started telling me about it...it was your trip report. I was like, I love RigLees story and we stood and discussed it until another customer came to my register. It was kind of like we had our own little book club going on though.
Rig and my's song is "It's your Love" the duet with Tim and Faith. I can't listen to that song without falling apart. I can't sing along with it because my voice cracks and shakes (probably an improvement though) from trying to hold my emotions back.

Bed Bath and Beyond, do you get paid to plug your work place?:lmao:
That is so funny, the RigLee book club. Can I join?

Ok, now that's just all I can take. LOL Tell about the ARREST!!!I promise I will read every last word, but I need to know what happened!
Can you possibley hold out for a little bit longer?:flower3: It is coming real soon, I promise.

I was hoping that we would get anther installment befor I went to be but I guess not. oh well something to look forward to for tomorrow.
I am sorry I didn't get this up before you went to bed, I hope to be able to post earlier in the day today.

YAY! Lee's up! I was reading my BF some of your story and I would stop one section and he would go, do you want to read me the next section? We were talking later and I guess I talked too much too because he said I was always asking him questions and talking.

My mom is headed to the library to read your story. She has dial up too, and it takes forever! Hope you enjoy it Mom!

This is fantastic! Cant' wait to read more. It makes me think of a Lifetime movie. You have me hooked to read the rest.

PLEASE write more soon!

Lee, I've been so hooked reading your TR.. love, love it!!!! Rig so reminds of the two "cowboys" on amazing race and they were just the best guys!!!

I've got a bad feeling though about Downtown Disney, being the place of the title topic......:confused3
Those cowboys were the best, I would have loved to see them win, at least they made it to the end, I loved the amazing race because of those two.

You are on the right path to have a bad feeling about downtown Disney.

Oh Lee, that is so nice how Grant and Jenny left the frame for you. At first I thought, "these are Disney people, they know there isn't going to be a table at Coral Reef" and of course!, they weren't there for a table but your gift. That was so nice.

Now I am thinking "what did his brother do...?" It must be him who got sweet Rig in trouble! :headache: Can't wait for more...

I love that frame they gave us, I put a picture of the 4 of us in it, it only seemed right. when I first saw them at coral Reef I thought maybe they were going to start stalking us:lmao: but they really are a sweet couple. We made life long friends with them.

I want to try your way of grocery shopping. I never even thought to be organized. I make a list and that' about it, and half the time I leave the list laying on the kitchen table, then when I get home I realize everything I forgot and usually have to go back tot he store.

all right, his family disowned him, he hasn't seen his brother in years. I am assuming there are some hard feelings there so I'm going to guess this is where the arrest happens? can't wait to read more...
You would be safe in assuming this.

okay so i am just trying coral reef on this trip and heard great things about it! So u got me more excited:) Also I am eating at Planet Hollywood on a night we dont have the meal plan! So how was it???
I liked Planet Hollywood better than Coral Reef. Coral Reef was nice but the food was too fancy. they had great theming, both of them on the opposit sides of the spectrum. You want to sing and Dance at Hollywood, but at Coral Reef you feel like you have to keep your elbows off the table.

I shouldn't have complained about Bossman always needing Rigs help, He is a good boss, and he does let us live in the house out back for dirt cheap. I was mad that I had to take time out to go get things for Bossmans toilet, but really I was doing Rig the favor.

I have got to read Big Stone Gap, that just sounds so close to Rig and I. Wow! Thank you for telling me about them.

Anyway...keep it coming!
when Rig first told me his brothers name was Truck I thought he was making a joke about it too, it was months before I found out he was serious. His family has their own truck company, very small, just 2 trucks now I heard they used to have 3 but sold one. Trucker is a cool name, I had heard of the names, Fisher, Hunter and Trapper, but Trucker I have only come across once.

You will have alot of reading to catch up on when you get back. I didn't unpack from our trip for a few days, the act of unpacking would mean the trip was really over. Let your kids do the unpacking, it won't kill them.

I have to come out of lurkdom to say you are an awesome writer Lee popcorn:: and I have to tell you that my DH will not let me carry our bag through the park either. :littleangel: He has been my knight in shining armor and the love of my life, for the last eleven years. Thank you for coming out of lurkdom to post on my report, that makes me feel good, like maybe I am inviting enough.
God Bless your good man for always carrying your bag. I love to hear about couples so in love after so many years. I will be honest and say I think the world is in a bad place right now, we need strong love in the home to make it through.

I envy the people who get to go back to disney world. My time will come again though.

I alway leave packing to the last minute. Packing stresses me out, I suppose if I were to get started on it earlier it wouldn't be as strssful, but I put it of because...well packing stresses me out. It is a vicious cycle.
