My first ever DLR trip!!!! June 13-18 *Completed!*

I'm having a freak-out moment this morning about budget. I can't shake the feeling that I've forgotten to include money for something. Here's what I have already considered so far:

hotel in Anaheim and during the drive down and back home
parkhoppers
groceries at hotel
gas
housekeeping tips/hotel incidental deposit
food for the trip, including GK brunch and CC breakfast
souvenirs/food treats to take home for family

I have triple checked my packing lists and have bought everything I needed to buy to finish my packing also. I'm probably just being overly paranoid, like when I leave my house sometimes thinking "What did I forget?"

But feel free to let me know if you see that I'm missing something. Please!

Your list looks good.

Make sure you have suntan lotion, batteries, chargers, pain relievers. Those are things that people tend to forget. And a second pair of shoes, that is a huge one.

Ooh, I somehow skipped right over batteries. I'm good on the rest, and I might even have 3 pairs of shoes just to be safe. I have room in the car, so I might as well, right?

Glad you put this out there, I forgot about batteries!!

Somewhere I found a Disneyland packing list. Had some good ideas I had not thought of. I just typed it in google, I think it was the DIS list that I ended up printing off to go over.

Don't forget a water bottle! They will let you take it into the parks. At least I've never had a problem and then you can fill it up at the water fountains.

Don't forget perfume or body spray to freshen up. Wet wipes for your hands and your kiddo. Wipes for your face to to clean up the sweat.

Good ones. I am big on the anti bacterial hand wipes. I especially use it on the remote in the room, I once read that the largest germs in a hotel room are on the remote.

Hrm oh yeah sunglasses for both of you!! I'm sure you've got that packed. Make sure you have the camera and you actually see it when you put it in you bag. I've done that a few times. Don't forget to write down your confirmation numbers and bring them with you. Sometimes when I've made an ADR the CM didn't hear my first name right so they've had to look me up.

Snacks??? For the parks? I think you said that already.

And wow you've got 3 days left!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only have 43...

Thanks guys! I do have everything you all mentioned on my list.

I meant to come back and post last night, and was going to make my first attempt at posting a pic. But then I couldn't get my freaking new laptop to read my memory stick. Grrrr. I spent last night and this morning looking for the software that came with my camera, finally found it and installed it. Then I discovered that it's just the slot on the laptop is apparently finicky and I had to actually wiggle the memory stick until it registered.

Okay, now that I've calmed down, here is my first pic attempt. Fingers crossed.

It worked! I don't know that I'll get around to getting a LGMH made to identify myself in the parks, but for those of you that will be there with me, now that you know what I look like, feel free to come talk to me if you see us. It would be great to meet some of you DISers!

I will also be on the lookout for you. I'm a stalker like that.

Thanks. The camera did come with the USB cable, but I couldn't find it if my life depended on it. I have a bad habit of tossing cords into a drawer or closet without labeling them, and later I have no idea what they're for. I'm afraid I may have tossed it at one point.

The picture of you and your daughter is so neat. While my kids are getting excited they are not bouncing off the walls either. I think seeing pictures is one thing but when you actually get there it will be another story. I think a bit of apprehension is mixed in with the excitement of the "unknown".

Yes, I have to admit I am a bit nervous. I just don't know if meeting characters is going to feel awkward, especially the ones that don't talk. It's hard to imagine things I have never experienced before. I have my video camera packed, but hadn't planned on using it too much if at all. But now I kind of want to videotape our first walk down Main St. to catch the whole experience. Idk yet if I will though.

Once your there the adrenalin/excitement will kick in. For me I know I am a crier so that is kind of what I expect to happen seeing my children experiencing Disney for the first time. If you can video tape it I say go for it, it will be a precious collection of memories that you can experience for years to come. As far as the characters go... I think experiencing through the eyes of the children makes it real .
