I have a question for anyone who has been to MVMCP. We will be going on December 15th (Thursday). This will be the first full day of our trip. We check in the night before (Wednesday). This is a suprise trip for our daughters. I can't believe we hve held onto this secret this long. Ok, my question. We plan on attending the MK on the same day as our MVMCP party. Is the park crowded or light during the day before the party. I'm inclined to think it would be light since the park closes early for the party. Has anyone been to the MK during the day of a MVMCP? I realize most will say not to go but my daughters will be begging to go to their favorite park our first day.

It's only my personal opinion but I don't think the crowd level has much to do with MVMCP being on the same night. The closer you get to Christmas, the more crowded parks will be regardless. According to www.touringplans.com, MK is one of the parks to avoid that day. :earsgirl:

Dec 15 is my Birthday :Pinkbounc [I think I'll be in MGM though!] - Have fun!

Our twin 8 year olds will be celebrating their 9th birthday at Disney (MGM) on the 18th. We are having dinner at 50's Prime Time. Have fun and :bday:

Anyone else been to MK on a MVMCP day?

I have last year. Granted it was a Tuesday but it was delightfully quiet.

We were there this past Sunday 11/27. They start letting people in for MVMCP at 4:00 in the afternoon so we didn't go to MK until 4:00. Between 4 and 6:00 (closing time), it really wasn't that crowded. We walked on a lot of rides with no waits at all. In fact it was that way all evening. There was a lot of people on Main Street because it seemed like everybody was leaving around that time but the rest of the park was fairly light. We're used to going in the summer so it was light to us.

I hope it's the same this year! We plan on spending the day at MK the same night we're going to MCMCP on Dec 13th (Tuesday).

:bday: Send my birthday wishes to your twins!

We were just there (29th) and I found the crowds to be exteremely light. I do not know if it was because people were avoiding the MK because they knew they would have to leave early or what but we had no wait longer than 10 minutes even on rides like BTMR and SM. It was awesome. In fact my MIL and 5 yr old did Buzz ride in less time than it took my older kids to do Stitch great escape.

At 4:00 we went to the rose garden to get the wristbands and never had to leave the park. The new fireworks display is great and the parade is still a favorite. How exciting for you and your daughters.

We'll be there the same time. Boo-Hoo, Accu-Weather's calling for rain that evening (hope they're wrong!).

Not sure about the rest of you, even though we tour "commando-style"; after a long day @ Epcot for EMH, CP & Illum - no way could we do MVMCP until midnight if we didn't take most of the day off of the party.

IMO the reason most kids & Adults become cranky @ WDW is that they're drop-dead tired as a result of trying to see everything in one trip - impossible dream.

Relax, enjoy the magic.

Good point we are trying to build in some breaks. Hopefully we will get them in.

My wife was there last night (Friday) after spending the afternoon at the MK. She called me to tell me how light the crowds were and that they walked onto several favorites (including Haunted Mansion and POTC).

Thanks for the update Where in NJ are you from?

We'll be at MVMCP on the 13th, too. I've been checking accuweather for several days, and they have been changing the forecast for our vacation week every day! One day it says 70's and sunny, the next day I check it and it says 60's and rainy. Who knows!

I'm done packing and I've packed everything from light summer wear, to thick sweatshirts, jeans, and mittens.

Our first full day is also the 15th! That is also the day we are planning to go to MK AND MVMCP!!! We only have three days at the park, so I thought that would at least guarantee we see all of MK and then some! Hope you have a wonderful time! We'll probably see you there!!! And all of you going on the 13th - according to weather.com, it looks like it's finally going to clear up on the 13th! Have great trips everyone!

I will be there on the 13th as well. My first party. I guess with all the confusion I will have to pack shorts and long pants and jackets. Have fun everyone.
