MVMCP questions (+ FP questions of course!)

Hello - we plan on attending MVMCP in mid-November. We've never been, so I was hoping for some advice. I know DS6 will love the parade so that's a must do. Rides are a priority for us (especially the Mine Train since DS6 rode that during MNSSHP and he loved it). My son is super shy and he thinks character meets are torture so we can skip those completely. In your opinion, what are the must do's for the Christmas party?

Also wanted to ask how FP works when you only have party tickets and not regular entry. When we did the MNSSHP, I only had the option of getting one FP. We were having such crazy weather that I didn't purchase the tickets till the day before. Was it just that everything was full or do you only get one FP for a party ticket? Also Mine Train was completely grayed out - I think it said it was "unavailable." Are Mine Train FP's not available to those just with party tickets or was it just because they were full? Trying to figure out if I'm able to even try for it by stalking the website or if we just should wait until the party starts.

Thank you all by the way - I pop on here with random questions every once in a while and everyone is so great about helping me!

If you enter at 4pm, you can potentially get 3 FPP on Party nights. (4-5, 5-6, 6-7) 7DMT was probably just out of fpp. It is very popular and they often disappear at the 60 day mark. They did just 2 days ago release a whole bunch more for the month of Nov it seemed. I was able to get one for our party night (11/10) GL!!

That's what I thought too - that I could get 3. But when I went to get FP's for the Halloween party, it would only let me do one. It was my first experience with the Disney site, so it's entirely possible I was doing it wrong though.

You can get 3 FPs with just a party ticket. More info can be found in the green link in my signature.

Yes, you can get three. But, for our party day, I have not seen any FP times with later than a 530-630 return window (ie, there are no 545-645 passes). Since FP windows cannot overlap, if you happen to book a 445-545 window, then you aren't going to be able to get a 530-630 FP. This would effectively limit you to two FP+ reservations. The same thing would happen if you booked a 345-445 FP reservation (or really any reservation that starts after 330). You'd be able to get a 445-545 reservation, but not a third one for 545+.

You have to stagger them just right in order to make sure you get 3 between the 4-630 pre-party time when you have admission.

I booked ours for 330-430, 430-530, and 530-630. Alternatively, you could do something like a 315-415, 415-515, and 515-615.

A related question... I have my 3 FPs booked for party night at 330-430, 430-530 & 530-630. My issue is that we have BOG dinner at 530 :). Are there any FP times past 630 or am I wasting my time looking? I was hoping to get the last one 6-7 so we'll have lots of time at BOG.

I think Disney plans party day fast passes so that the queues are more or less empty of non-party people by 7pm. By not offering FP+ after 6:30, the fast pass queue empties about 15 minutes before 7. This allows for 15 minutes of only standby riding, helping to clear day guests from that queue.

The last available on MNSSHP days was 5:30-6:30. As pp mentioned, I'm sure that's to clear the queues by 7. You can get 3 on your party ticket if you schedule them to start at 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30, but may be limited on what's available by how close to the party you are scheduling. If you have an on-site reservation you can book on your party ticket 60 days in advance. If you are offsite or have just a party ticket, you can book 30 days in advance. Just make sure your ticket is linked in MDX.

We had a 6:00-7:00 pm FP+ for Haunted Mansion for our MNSSHP. I know people are saying latest one was 5:30-6:30 but we had a later one.
