MVMCP - My Very Merry Chistmas Pre-Trip Report

Well look at you!!! The calender turned out Awesome!!! See this is the only problem about surprising Devon the week before the trip!!! I can't do fun things like that!!! Shoot!!! Guess we can do all that for our Aug/Sept trip next year!

Love the calendar idea... Probably will be ripping that one off as well! :rotfl:

Maybe my PTR should actually be totled "Will I ever have an original Disney idea?"

i love you calendar! i went to home depot and managed to make it out with abotu 88 mickey shaped paint chips... i was feeling like people were watching me so i got self concious about my free paint chip thieving and left... i figured i could just do something different every few rows for the ones that are missing... and i tried a tshirt project of my own... that did NOT turn out! for the full story, you will have to see my PTR :lmao:

You miss out on it this trip, but you just got back, and are going again next year. We won't be going again for 3-4 years.

Feel free to rip it off. I tossed around a bunch of ideas before settling on this.

I never got to Home Depot. I was going to borrow some samples from them for my calendar, but then I thought about the calendar thing, so just bought a bunch of stickers for the kids to decorate with.

Your calendar looks AWESOME! I really need to get a countdown calendar going for the kids. I was going to wait because they are so young but I get tired of hearing "is today the day we go to Disney?" :rotfl:

What a great calendar countdown! I have a bunch of Disney fonts on my laptop, I'll have to try that out for another trip. :thumbsup2

I still haven't done my tie-dye shirts yet either. I'm such a chicken.

that calander is awesome. Where did you find the mickey head buttons and the bottle caps.
Those are really neat

I found them at Michael's craft store. Not sure if you have one near you, but do a google search for Disney Adhesive Bottle Caps, and you should be able to find them. Found some Tinkerbell ones when I did my search.

For the Mickey Head buttons, just search for Disney adhesive buttons.

I need to get more since I only bought enough for forty days. Originally they were just going to be part of the decorations for the kids, but then I realized they would make perfect markers for each day.

No, not chicken. You have just been too busy and haven't gotten to them yet.:lmao:

Perhaps those tie-dye shirts are just a figment of your imagination. :figment: Or you are just teasing us? Get us to keep reading with the promise of really cool tie dye shirts? :lmao:

Is that why you read my PTR, to see a Tie-Dye shirt?:confused3

I thought it was brilliant writing and outstanding story telling talent. :lmao:

Well, it is sort of a teaser when you tell us about all these great crafty projects....but of course you are right...it's your brilliant and hysterical writing that REALLY keeps us coming back! :rotfl:

I will admit I probably hooked some people with the shirts. I will make them at some point before the trip. In my defense, I have made shirts for everyone to ooh and ahh over, plus made this great Countdown calendar, so they should hold you over until I get to the shirts.

I've spent today looking at park maps and planning out my days. Got HS and AK figured out I think. Need to see what Tourguide Mike has to say.

Next month is October, so I am starting to think about pumpkins. Does anyone else carve Disney related pumpkins?

We took a trip out to Longwood Gardens yesterday. Thought about renting their stroller for $6 but decided against it.

Big mistake. The 4 year old kept wanting to be carried. Oddly enough she would be running around, and the next minute I see my DW carrying her. Ally did well, so she should be ok in Disney, but we will be renting a stroller that will allow her to just stand and ride, or sit if needed. Olivia will definitely be using the stroller.

I don't blame you one bit!!! We used the stroller for Devon up till he was 5 1/2! That is alot of walking for little legs. Not to mention it is so much less of a hassle in the parks to have them in the stroller for the parents!

I used a stroller last trip mainly for Emma who was 5 and Eryka used it a bit and she was 7. If Emma complains too much this trip I will get a single one, it is easier than listening to her complain after all it is my vacation too

Well you know my take on strollers. Claire will be riding one till she's 20! LOL! :thumbsup2 Honestly, it makes for a more enjoyable trip for all. O knopw not all agree with that theory, but for my family it holds true.
We've been to our country fair al lweek, with ALOT of walking. I did not take our stroller for any of the days, and we did fine, but Claire was exhausted each night. And she did get a little cranky at times. And those days were only about 1/3 of what we would do at Disney.
