I have tickets for tonight's MVMCP that I printed out at home. Do I need to change these for a hard ticket to get into the park today at 4pm? They are linked to my MDE account/magic band, but I'm worried that I'll go to Epcot tomorrow morning and find that "the system" will have taken my last park day to use for tonight's party. Do I need to exchange my paper print-out tickets, or take them with me to the gate, or what? I can't seem to find the answer anywhere (but I am not a very efficient searcher, either...)

Hopefully I can help. We just brought our paper tickets last year. We also had them linked to our MDE account just in case. Hope someone with more info can help you as well! :)

the party entrance tapstyles will only read party tix, so your regular park ones won't be impacted. Me being me though, I would have the paper print out in my bag "just in case".

That's the plan, to bring the paper tickets with me "just in case." Given the infamy of Disney IT, I have brought hard copies or screen shots of EVERYTHING, just in case. So far, so good... but I know my luck!

Make sure you go thru the party turnstiles and you will be fine. We just used our magic bands for to enter the MNSSHP

I would have the paper ones with you just in case. I had ours linked to our MBs last year, and out of our group of 7, it could only read the party ticket from 1. Fortunately, we had the hard plastic party tickets as well so the rest of us used those. The CM at the tapstile said it was a common problem. I'm sure you could get it sorted out at the ticket window either way, but it might be faster if you at least have the paper tickets or confirmation with you.

If you are already in the park having arrived earlier in the day where do you go to get your wristbands and schedule?

To answer my own question... We used our paper emailed tickets (printed at home) to get into the party. If you have a paper ticket they have you go through a separate line where the CM scans the bar code on the ticket. We then used our magic bands for our fast passes.

I don't remember exactly where guests who were already in the park before the party got their wristbands, but I remember seeing spots in both FantasyLand and near Liberty Square where CMs were putting wristbands on people. Party maps/schedules were available at the front of the park when we entered a bit before 4pm. I don't know how long they'd been out there, and I don't remember seeing any other place in the park to get them.

Are the party tapstyles obvious? So if you have a paper ticket and no magicband can you still get FP?

I did willcall for my tickets and bound them to my band but I'll also go in earlier in the day and have an extra ticket for that so I'm planning on just picking up the wristbands inside.

That said, is there anything special about getting a "hard" ticket for the MVMCP? (I'm assuming it's an RFID card - is it decorated in anyway/useable as a memento?)

The turnstiles are VERY obvious, so no worries there. There will be cast members dressed in very christmasy colors waving Christmas signs and dancing. As for FP+, a print at home ticket will not work. However if you do not have a MB and have a "credit card" type party ticket, that will work for FP.

A 2016 question on a 2015 MVMCP thread.

I ordered 2016 MVMCP tickets in May and only have the "Print-at-Home" PDF. Can I still request "credit card" party tickets?

(and yes this related to the other thread I started.)

Johnnee - you won't need the hard, plastic tickets if you can't book FPs with the Party entitlements. Best to just leave the entitlements linked to the original people and enter the Party with the paper ticket or your MB.
