Btw, WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!
We were at that party as well, and they cancelled the parade, the fireworks, and a few shows, but not the whole party. For those willing to put in the time and effort they did issue refunds, which I thought was nice.kilee said:It would be extremely rare for them to cancel MVMCP due to rain/storms. A friend of mine from the boards went to that Thurs. party and they were issued a refund since they were leaving the next day. That week alone in Dec., it rained 4 out of our 6 days for a total of 10" of rain!! Fort Wilderness flooded and I have pictures of ducks swimming across the area in front of the Settlement Depot!!
NOT THIS YEAR!!
DS and I had a wonderfully deserted rainy MK EMH night back in February - we had a total blast. That night there was a looooong line at Guest Relations at the front of the MK for refunds. After a while they started telling people they didn't have to wait on line. They gave us a card that has the WDW Customer Relations information. When we got home I sent Disney a letter requesting a refund, which I did receive. I had to provide our wrist bands from the party as well.LiteBrite said:I wasn't there, but I remember reading about that night and people getting refunds. If I'm remembering right, the ones who asked for a refund that night while they were still there got them, but people who went back the next day to ask were denied. So, if this should happen to you, make sure to stop by Guest Relations on your way out that night to ask for your refund (no guarantee you'll get it, but your chances will be better than if you wait till later).
WE toughed it out as long as we could and finally gave up. I did write a letter to Disney about being disappointed by the party considering the price of tickets - if I remember correctly both parades were cancelled but the fireworks went on....but a lot of the performances were cancelled.....Jump 5 was supposed to perform (which I was excited about - don't ask - I don't know why) and their show got cancelled. I did receive a refund and really appreciated it since they didn't have to because they are clearly sold as nonrefundable. However....this wasn't a little bit of rain. It was almost to the top of the curbs on Main Street. We wore rain gear (went to I think Academy and bought rain suits because ponchos were clearly not going to cut it) all night and were still soaked to the bone.
