I have been looking into buying a resale DVC membership. If I a 100 point membership to OKW and a 50 point membership to BCV does that mean I have an 11 month window to both OKW and BCV totaling 150 points or 11 month window to OKW for up to 100 points and 11 month window to BCV for 50 points? I am confused on this one?

You can book OKW 100 pts there at the 11 month window. You can book BCV 50 pts there at the 11 month window. If you want to combine for instance 150 pts at OKW you must book 100 pts at OKW and wait until the 7 month mark to book OKW the additional 50 pts (from BCV). Does this make sense?

Using banking and borrowing, though, you can make your points work for an 11-month reservation each year for 150 points.

Year 1:

Bank your 50 BCV points and borrow 50 OKW points from the next year. Book a 150 point vacation at OKW. Book at the 11-month point.

Year 2:

Bank your remaining 50 OKW points to the next year. Borrow 50 BCV points from the next year. Book a 150 point vacation at BCV. Book at the 11-month point.

Year 3:

Book a 150 point vacation at OKW. Book at the 11-month point.

Year 4: Start over again with year 1.

This works out without any stray points because your smaller contract is exactly half as many points as your larger one. You'll get to visit BCV every 3rd year, and always be able to book at the 11-month point.

Thanks - great advice - We were thinking of adding 50 points at BLT.

At 11 months out it's not really ownership that matters, it's having the right kind of points for the resort you want to book. I don't own at BCV but I could book there 11 months out if I got a BCV owner to transfer BCV points into my account. I could then use those BCV points (and only BCV points) to book a stay at BCV 11 months out.

The same applies to the points I own. I own at BWV, VWL and AKV. If I want to book at VWL 11 months out, MS only accepts VWL points to pay for that reservation. Being an owner at VWL doesn't allow me to use my BWV or AKV points to book a stay at VWL 11 months out because they are the wrong kind of points.
