Multiple Ar Rant!

I just read up to your post and thought that I would add this, I know someone probably has said it already but... When you call for an AR, they don't pull up your information and see what you're already doing. At least the worldphiles don't. Simply, unless the CM searches for you specificaly before they do their booking of your AR, they have No clue that you have multiple ressies for dining.
I made p.s./ar for the the last week in June. Then we changed our dates to the second week in June. I called and cancelled all my ars for the last week and made one new p.s. for the 2nd week not quite sure if and when I wanted the rest. When I called back the next day I asked for LTT dinner on the 8th. He said nothing available so I asked him to check the 9th. While he was checking he said, "I see here you already have a p.s. for LTT on the 27th." I said, "I did but I called and cancelled that since we changed our travel dates." He then said all others were cancelled but that one and the one I had gotten the day before for 1900 PF. So he DID know all about what ars I had because he had our resort reservation number.

How about issueing everyone a collar with a shocker in it like used with the invisible fence? If you don't show up for your ADR it goes off until you show up! Sure there are some logistical issues but I bet it would discourage no shows. :rotfl2:

This is hilarious! And part of what makes it so funny is that some friends and I were joking that people who are always late should be required to wear a special watch. They could not remove the watch - it would be like the electronic bracelets they put on criminals. At 10 minutes before an appointment the watch would give a LOUD verbal warning. At 5 minutes if the person is not where they are supposed to be the watch will shock them every 30 seconds, with increasing voltage, until they get to their destination. I know LOTS of chronically late people.

I do think the system needs to kick out ADR's for the same people at the same time on the same day. I am also not opposed to "holding" my dining ressies with a CC#. If people aren't willing to make a commitment then maybe they should wait to try to get their ADR's. Maybe that would motivate them to make decisions in a more timely fashion.

How about if you already have an ADR within 2 hours either way, the system automatically blocks it?

The person then would say, I'm sorry, I can't put that in for you unless you are cancelling your ADR at XXXX for XXX.

There would have to be an addition to this rule that you can have more than one ADR within that window, if and only if, the total number of members in your party is not exceeded in the combined total of people at both ADR's.

Example: Mom and Dad want to eat at V and A's while Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie take the kids to Ohana, both at similar times. There would have to be a way to accommodate this type of legit behavior, too.

One way to resolve some of this would be if Disney would decide on EMH days and a minimum guide for park hours at the 90 day mark as well. People want to get their ADRs at the 90 mark, but don't know park hours yet. They probably make a few reservations so that they can eat at whatever park they decide to be at on that date. I would certainly hope they would decide and release some of their ADRs at the 60 day mark when park hours/ EMH days are released.

My thoughts exactly! If WDW has a 90 day window for ADRs, then they need a 90 day window for park hour publication as well for scheduling purposes. Then they might not have so many people creating multiple ADRs. While I have never made multiple reservations, I am always calling around trying to change everything once the park hours are published. It is a hassle. GRRR...
