Moving to Orlando!

Well, my last day at work was today. It was bittersweet my co-workers and managers are very supportive. Next week, I make the move!

Kungaloosh!

Well the welcome mat has been rolled out, just beware, we have fires right now. It's hit or miss, but some days are real bad. If your moving a lot of stuff into your new home and there is a lot of smoke outside take it slow, this stuff is very unhealthy!

Once again welcome and congratulations! :cool1:

Shoot a line once you get into town!! Once you start at Disney, don't forget you get 50% off of all food and drinks (including alcohol) at the All-Star Cafe :thumbsup2

For now........till they turn it into a Food Court.

Will do boys. Thanks for the welcome! We're definitely wanting to make new friends down there. I start Traditions on the 23rd, will be working at my attraction as soon as the 26th.

We just moved into our apartment today, it's an awesome apartment. Built-in entertainment center, and a patio as big as my old bedroom! It's on the second floor (less bugs) and it's a direct view to a sub-tropical/coniferous forest, absolutely no buildings or other evidence of civilization. So thusly it lends the effect of escaping from the busy hub we live near. I am actually walking distance to downtown disney, and it's a brisk bike ride too. This means it'll be amazingly easy for me to visit the parks, it's a simple bike ride away, then I can bus to wherever I want to go... convenient!

Well, thanks for the good words folks! And see you soon.

Good for you!!! Have a magical transition.

Congrats! The patio sounds great!

Dont worry, the Love Bugs should be gone soon. Just be sure to wash your car often, if you leave the love bugs on there the oil from the dead bodies will eat the paint right off of it!

Hey! I think I know where you are! Be careful along that main road, ok? The cars move pretty fast and there isn't always a handy place to head the bike!

Welcome to Florida! Hope it's all you hoped for!

Take care now and be sure to tell us how you like things as time goes on!

Hey, considering a move for dh and I to orlando ourselves and working at wdw - a couple of questions if you don't mind (and a congrats for doing this!)

1. How was the interview with WDW?
2. Was it hard getting a job you wanted at WDW?
3. Did WDW help with housing?

In general:

1. The interview process is very easy with Disney. No matter who you are, they can fit you in somewhere.
2. It always depends on what type of job you're after. Park and resort jobs are easier than technical.
3. They don't really help much, but CMs do get discounts at a lot of local apartment complexes.

thanks! how did you know which complexes had cm discounts? can you recommend some? a pm would be okay too.

There is a book, used to be called donalds deals, not sure what it is called now. It's filled with CM discounts. Also there are ads in the back of eyes and ears, the company newsletter.

thanks orlando mike - how could I get them before moving? dh and I are thinking of scheduling interviews next week and would also want to look at apartments.

Unless you were taking a more technical or salaried position, the relocation staff won't have much to offer in the way of help. You'll need to look around for apartments, but again almost all offer CM discounts.

Disney is constantly hiring, they've had two job fairs since I first interviewed... Well good luck with the interview!

I can report that someone is working 6 days a week in 100% polyester.

It has been raining all night, so tomorrow when the sun comes out it will be a sauna outside!

Still Having fun Zac?

LOL You know I had to rub it in! :rotfl2:
