Moving Resorts Please Help!!!

My husband, myself and our kids have a ressie at the BC for Aug 3 to the 12th...My DH will be leaving on the 8th and I will be alone with DS, DD, and DD for the remaining few days.

As a child my family always stayed at the CR and I have been dying to go back ever since...I was thinking of moving to the CR after DH leaves...

I figure it will be easier b/c of smaller pool area and convenience to Mk.

My question is how easy is it to move rooms? Does the staff move all the stuff into new room while I am out? If it is easy I think I will move, I always see on the DIS how often people move but I don't want to waste my day doing so..

Any advice would be great!!!

Switching resorts is basically packing up and checking out of first resort. If you have a car, drive to the second resort and check-in. If you do not have a car, ask the front desk to call a cab.

Keep in mind, if you are purchasing a LOS pass you may want to discuss with the resorts that the ck-out ck-in day is not added to both resort invoices.

Disney resort bell services will move your luggage once you've packed up. That way you can check out of one resort, go off to a park for the day, then go to the new resort. Once you've checked into your new room, call bell services and they will deliver your bags. You won't need a car or cab to do this.

Personally I don't like to move. I always feel like I end up spending the day packing, waiting and unpacking. You have to check-out of the resort you are in - by the normal check-out time. If you use bell services don't forget you must tip when the bags are picked up and again when they're dropped off. At the new hotel you have to wait for a room to be ready, then when you call bell services, the luggage may arrive in 10 minutes or it may be an hour - then there's unpacking. We've never stayed for more than 6 days so to lose one day to a move - plus the added stress is not worth it for me. I do love both of those resorts so I feel for your dilemma. Good Luck!

We've switched resorts on several trips and have had bell services transfer our things for us. We've never had a problem. It takes time to pack and unpack, but that has never been a big deal for us.

YMMV, but on our last WDW trip we switched resorts midway through, and it made it seem as if we got two vacations for the price of one.

I agree
This August we will be splitting our 10 night stay between 3 resorts. This is our 10th anniversary and we wanted to relax at the GF. I couldn't give up the AKL or the Polynesian (it's been two yrs since we have been there).
We have even split stays on a five night trip. I always upack everything during our stay. One thing that I think makes it easier is we bring a mesh laundry bag for the dirty clothes. I also have a lot of down time scheduled. We only go to the parks either in the morning or at night. We like to hang out at the resorts

If the MK is the park where you will be spending most of your time then I would move. The monorail (or walking for that matter), a smaller pool and the convience of the Food and Fun Center will make it easier for you.
