Okay, we are less than 4 weeks away from vacation :hyper:

I just printed out the Mousekeeping envelopes for our trip and have been gathering $5.00 bills (we are a family of 4 staying in one room - 3 adults and a 10 year old who thinks she is an Adult Princess princess: ).

Where do you all leave the Mousekeeping Envelopes for the staff? I would assume most of them will recognize the Disney Characters on the outside of the envelope -- but would like to know where you leave them so the maids know it is meant for them. Thanks!:cutie:

I usually scotch tape mine to the bathroom mirror (you have to bring scotch tape though!).

:earsboy:

Scotch tape - one more thing to add to the packing list! Thanks so much::yes::

We usually leave our housekeeping tip on a pillow which we put in the middle of the bed.

But we've never made envelopes - what a cute idea!!!

This last week I just left my envelopes on the small table in the room. They were gone every day.:p

On my last trip, I put them in envelopes and left the envelope on the bed each day. I wrote "Thank you, Mousekeeping!" on the envelope. On our last day, the mousekeepers left us a note saying "Thank you for the tips!!". They left us towel animals and arranged our souvineers just about everyday. Every time I've stayed at CBR, the mousekeepers have doen this. :teeth: -Stephanie

When I placed the Mousekeeping envelopes on my pillow - the mousekeepers moved them to the nightstand.

Rather than pack tape, I placed them in the sink or propped up on the faucet. I clearly labeled them : "To Our Boardwalk Mousekeeper with our thanks!" I also put the date - that way I just pulled the proper day out of the safe and left it.

I got a little more creative than the "typical" mousekeeping envelope. To make it more personal, I copied digital pictures of the Hotel or the park and printed them on the envelopes.

YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc the VERY NICE things mousekeeping did for me!! And my niece, also thinks she is the Adult Princess, and not the neatest of the Royal realm either.

Just a suggestion....

:earsgirl: This is the first I have heard of Mousekeeping Envelopes. What is the acceptable amount and if I had my DD make them for each day is that OK. We are staying at the ASM in October. There will be myself, DH, DD-8 and DD-2.

It depends on how messy you and your family are. The standard for those hwo wish to tip this often underappreciated task, is $1 per person per day (and if you have turndown service you may use the same standard). The $1 is for very neat people - who pick up their towels and basically pick up after themselves. The amount per person can vary if the adults are neat and the kids, well, aren't. Your choice - but they DO appreciate it!

What do you all recommend: Tipping a little bit each day; the entire sum at the start; 1/2 at the start and 1/2 at the end? We usually do it all at the end, but some days are awesome and some days aren't...but if you're tipping the day after Mousekeeping leaves towel animals or whatever - a different person might be getting the tip! Anyone know (CM?) if tips are shared throughout the staff or kept individually? By the way, personalizing the envelopes are a GREAT idea!

Tips are usually not shared. I tip each day, because you can have a different mousekeeper each day. I would not want to give a large tip to someone who just happened to clean the room that day, and have the person who worked most of the week get nothing.

I also don't count on my tip to be the reason a mousekeeper will make towel animals or arrange the toys in a special way. Some just do it, others don't.

If I see mousekeepers on the floor, I do make an attempt to say hi, and be courteous to them. Being friendly may not guarantee special treatment, but it won't hurt.

we tipped $5 per day for a family of 4 last year at the WL. I made up my own envelopes.....(anyone else here a scrapper?? I just used some of my stickers/letters/etc!!). I specifically put "Mousekeeping" on the envelopes and I left them on the bathroom sink. I also filled the envelopes early, just as part of saving money.... Can't wait to make them again this year!
