"Mothers don't stop Getting angry with stupid bigots who (mess) with their children!"

I think this has already been pointed out, but the truth is that gender isn't black and white. . .it's a lot more gray.

I really don't care what Chaz has done. It affects me in NO way. On a personal level, I don't understand why someone would want to go through that kind of surgery, almost seems like mutilation, but I'm not transgender. I feel pretty much the same way about plastic surgery, but if Michael Jackson wanted to look like a young white girl, how does that affect me? :confused3

I thought Chaz looked really uncomfortable when they were introducing the new cast. It is probably just because he is so overweight and the lights are hot, but I had this weird thought. What if growing up you didn't feel comfortable in your gender, like Chastity. So, you assume you want to be the other gender, because we really only give two options as a society. You go through all the counseling and surgery, etc and find out you're not really comfortable in your new gender either. :scared1: Woops! That would suck! :headache:

I'm sorry. this is driving me crazy
Weather

Weather is usually a noun:

How's the weather?

The weather is always great this time of year

What's the weather like in Spain?

Weather is also a verb that means "to be affected by the weather":

That house is really weathered

Figuratively, weather means "to get/live through":

I know we can weather this crisis

Whether

Whether is a conjunction that introduces possibilities or alternatives:

Do you know whether he is coming?

You'll do it whether you like it or not

Whether you win or lose, you'll have done your best

The Bottom Line

The words weather and whether are pronounced identically, hence the confusion in spelling. Just remember that whether is more or less interchangeable with "if," while weather indicates the temperature and atmospheric conditions.

This is why you lose me. Your posts tend to be very condescending when you respond to those who do not agree with your POV.

Thanks for the spelling lesson, not a word I use very often. Sorry if you think I am condescending. I have an opinion, and I will state it strongly. I think you only find me condescending because you disagree. We will never be able to prove why Chaz is on the show. Only the executives at ABC really know why.

and then i'm done with this pointless topic

If a black woman and a white male walk into a room:
which is gay?
which is white?
Which is female?

Now obviously with the melting pot of today it is becoming harder to identify race and culture. I mean or president is really a mixed race child but every one goes along with calling him black, different topic. Anyway, my point is that you can't point a gay person out typically so the discrimination issues that black rights movement had don't apply unless that person says "hey i'm gay". Similar doesn't mean the same. They may have parallel issues or similar ones but it is not the SAME fight.

Goodnight.

It's happened on rare occasion, which is why the surgery (which, again, he has not had), requires repeated psychological screenings and a full year of living as the opposite gender before anyone will do it.

As for the looking uncomfortable I didn't see it, but he was on Letterman a couple months ago and they discussed it in depth and he didn't seem uncomfortable at all. I'm sure the clip is around youtube or something, the episode reran the other week.

It is amazing that you can't see the parallel between these issues. Maybe the conversation that happened with GolfGal hould have been held with you. :sad2:

That's why you have to live for some time as a person of your target gender before you can have surgery.

So what did Jackie Robinson mean when he said:

The right of every American to first-class citizenship is the most important issue of our time.

Which is Jewish?

Which is Catholic?

Can we say that Catholics and Jews shouldn't have the same rights as other people, because you can't typically point them out? I mean, really, how would you know unless they say, "Hey, I'm Catholic!" (Or Jewish.)

I'm not alone in disagreeing. There are many medical and Psychological professional that don't agree at all with gender changing
It's been real kiddies. Good to see that unless you become a robot to the propaganda you are wrong and stupid. Chasity was born Xx and still is a female in my book, so she is gay in my book.
Your poor, poor woman. You don't deserve to be attacked. No, not at all. Anger is not the correct response to your writings.

What you deserve is pity.

Which one is Jewish?

Which one is Catholic?

Don't be silly. Why would Jewish or Catholic people have a problem? All they have to do is say "No, I'm not Jewish/Catholic." And as long as they keep their icky religion in the bedroom or otherwise hidden, what's the problem? You can be Jewish. Just don't make me see you being Jewish. You can be Catholic. Just don't get in my face about it. I have rights, you know.

Don't forget to include the right to not be called a bigot, which is apparently in the Constitution now.

Of course! Silly me. It's their own fault for shoving their lifestyles down everyone's throat by building churches and synagogs everywhere. Why, sometimes I hear CHURCH BELLS right in my own home! My right to never EVER think of their existence is being violated! :lmao:

So, if they just keep their mouths shut no one will know they are a minority and they won't be discriminated against? Really?

If that's acceptable, then I guess we women should have just cut our hair and worn men's clothing so we wouldn't be discriminated against, either. And people of color could bleach their skin or wear light make-up.

"Sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought an idiot than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

A slightly paraphrased quote attributed to several different sources, but somehow significant on this thread.

Oh, I know they go through lots of counseling etc. It was just a goofy thought I had. Seeing as gender is a scale, what if you were actually right in the middle of that scale and not really more male or more female.

I didn't necessarily think he looked uncomfortable because of his gender. . .just in general and that triggered my goofy thought.

I didn't realize he didn't have surgery. I don't know exactly how that works. But I do know female bodybuilders sometimes going unchecked with the steroids they are taking can make their female parts grow into more male type parts. . .without getting too graphic. :lmao:

I have an unexpurgated copy of Dr. Doolittle, the one in which Prince Bumpo asks the good Doctor to turn him into a white prince, so he can win a white woman's heart.

The Doctor did his best, but to quote one of the animals...

"The Sleeping Beauty would never have him, even if he did (stay white)," said Dab-Dab. "He looked better the way he was, I thought. But he'd never be anything but ugly, no matter what color he was made."

Even as a young child I found that comment incredibly depressing. What a hopeless way to see the world!

First I was just perplexed, now I'm TOTALLY confused.

So if I have this right; gay people can't be identified solely by skin color or man/woman so the issue of civil rights doesn't apply?!

Now my head hurts. UncleRemus, pass another drink. Or 3.

You can not compare the topics of: Black rights/women rights and the gay rights. breast enlargements and a sex change

They aren't the same to compare them is idiotic. It's like comparing oranges and plums.

Why not? How is it different?
