The Polynesian, the AKL, and the BWI are all great picks for a romantic getaway.

If you're thinking about a moderate, I'd recommend Port Orleans Riverside for romance, Magnolia Bend (Mansion) section. It's currently undergoing a building-by-building rehab so you should be able to get a renovated room by January. The theming and landscaping are both condusive to romance and the more spread out nature gives you a sense of privacy. Pool, food court and on-site restaurant are all good and there's nightly entertainment in the lounge. We didn't use the marina, but it looked like it had various activities. Also enjoyed the boat to Downtown Disney.

I like Riverside better than French Quarter as I personally like the theming better, Riverside has a larger pool and sit down restaurant and I actually like how it's more spread out whereas the FQ buildings are clustered more closely together. Rooms are very similar between the two though and you can use the amenities of either property (pretty walk between or you can take the boat every 20 mins.) so if you're more into the New Orleans theme I think you'd also be happy at FQ.

Many of the Disney Hotels are romantic, so it's tough to just pick one...it all depends on what you are looking for, what location you want to be in, and how much you want to spend...

If you want to be in the MK area, then the Poly, The WL and the GF are all very romantic resorts...(esp the Poly)...there's nothing more romantic then walking around on the beach at night at the Poly...that may be the single most romantic location in all of disneyworld...you feel as if you're in Hawaii with the lush tropical surroundings, there is soft music playing, and in the distance you can see Cindy's Castle...

If you want to be close to Epcot, you can try the BWI, the BC or the YC...all of those are also romantic...there's nothing like eating a late dinner in Epcot, walking around all of the countries after the park is closed on your way out, and then going out the rear exit onto the Boardwalk...

Now these are also the most expensive hotels, so if money is a factor, you may want to consider the Port Orleans...I have never stayed there, but have walked around a bit...the french quarter is a romantic location...

You really can't go wrong with any disney resort for romance, except for maybe the budget hotels...(all stars etc)...

well hope this helps a bit...

good luck!!

I have heard the GF is very romantic and has some wonderful restaurants and lounges.

We much prefer the BWI to the GF (where we stayed for years). The service is better and the location can't be beat, especially for a couple without children (like us).

I'd advise going on allearsnet.com and looking at the photo section of each resort (under accomodations)...what is beautiful to one person is frumpy to another...what is stimulating to one is gawdy to another. The pictures will give you a pretty good idea of the mood of each place.
