Yesterday at work a coworker was asking about my recent trip (last week). She has never been to WDW. She was asking me how many roller coasters I went on and I was explaining to her that what SHE thought of as roller coasters (such as at Six flags, you know MAJOR thrill!!) was not what was at DW. She didn't get it. I tried explaining to her what was there for rides and she just looked at me like I was crazy. She didn't "get it"
FInally I just told her what I tell everyone, you either get it, or you don't with Disney.
She said..Ohhhh...like a cult then?
WHAT??
I said uh no, just a fascination. She said no, like a cult, it's kinda scary when you think about it, the way some people love that place.
I just stopped talking about it altogether. Someone else asked me how could I have gone without 2 of my 3 kids since it was for kids anyway, didnt I need to grow up?
a cult? Gimme a break.

Sure, we got it...we were just waiting for him. "Got it" comes at different times for each of us.

) I get the same questions about taking our DS to "other" places. I always say he is a kid (4) and will only enjoy vacationing with family for a limited amount of years (they become teenagers, did you know that
) I want to take him to lots of different places, but I cannot see spending the money now to take him to the grand canyon or Washington D.C. or Williamsburg or Gettysburg or many of the great attractions in this country until he is old enough to understand the signifigance of these places. At 4 he gets Disney, loves Mickey & the gang, and has a ball. I always use the I'll tell Mickey you said hi line
