More negativity

Disney fans are not the only one who get flack from their friends and family about their vacation travel. I post on a Virgin Islands travel board and occasionally see people who get greif from thier co-workers and family about their obsession with St John. I have been there 9 times and will make my 10th trip in April 08. While Disney is probably the best made made vacation destination (I dont know I've never been there but I'll let you know what I think when I return from my trip there in September), St John is one of the most natural vacation destinations. There is no airport so you must ferry over fron St Thomas, and 2/3 of it is US Natioal Park. Similar to Disney fans, people go there several times a year to soak up some of the world best beach, snorkling, fishing, shopping, and of course rum! Check it out.

Yeah, see, I've never been to any of the various island destinations, but these are places I can easily understand as favorites and yearly repeaters. What could be better than spending time relaxing in a beautiful, peaceful place with warm, transparent water and clean air? Only spending time in such a place with a spa, a bar, and some good restaurants nearby, that's what!

Besides the islands, I've also always wanted to try places like the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, etc. I like places with beautiful scenery; maybe one of these days I'll be able to afford more than one vacation a year so I can try these places while still getting my WDW fix.

It's true, you either get or you don't. There is just so much about WDW that many will just never understand and unless they go, it can't be explained.

I just don't let the negative folks get to me. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I love WDW, my DW loves WDW and that's all that matters and no-one can take that away.

There is one thing that I know for sure. When my life comes to an end, I am sure I will regret many things, e.g., staying “off property” a few times, however, my trips to WDW will not be one of them. In fact, I’ll probably wish I had gone more often.

The only time the negative folks really and truly bother me is when they are traveling to WDW with us. I've had family members go with us just so they can be with the kids, but they really don't enjoy it and it brings everyone down to hear the constant griping. It's the happiest place on earth, dumb@$$, slap on a smile and have a good time!
