More hypocracy.

He's your president too.

Only in name. I don't take responsibility for anything the imbecile does, and I'm sure I speak for others as well. You elected the fool, you can take the blame for his actions. I did everything I could to keep (and then remove) him from office. He may be the president of the country we live in, but I certainly don't want him associated with me in any other way.

He's your president too.

No, he's the President of my country. Last time I checked I didn't have a president, but I'll go look under the bed again just to be sure.

No matter, he's not either one for much longer...Thank God!!!

And, yeah, I felt like contributing too!!

He's your president too.

He's not my president because he never intended to be. He intended to be the president of the ones who could put him over the top with a .001% victory. And I'm not part of that group.

He's your president too.

Really?
Because when he got re-elected he insisted that those 50.7% of voters mandated him to continue in his ways, and HE IGNORED the 49.3% of us that voted against him.

Well, when my Democrat Rep and Senator ignores me, what am I to do...

Depends on what you mean by "ignore". If they just don't follow instructions, then you'll just have to deal with it. If you mean that they won't even respond to you...I dunno what to tell you. I can't get mine to shut up. :teeth:Particularly the idiot that represents my district.

Isn't that the truth! I just got a phone call with a taped msg from mine inviting me to join in on a town hall meeting by phone..just press 3 and I'm in!

He's an idiot as well, so I passed.

Last summer you posted something on one of the many political threads that were flying around at the time and it was about this very issue. You said something to the affect (forgive me if I butcher it) that Republicans in power at the time forget that the people they kicked in the head on the way up, are the same ones they're going to meet on the way down. In retrospect, no truer words were spoken.

I can't shed too many tears for what has happened, even though I don't agree with it. What has happened is a good lesson for all who enter into politics and are in the majority at the current or present time. Hell, it's good lesson for all us that can be used in real life.

So then what happens. Eventually the Republicans get back in power, then they start getting even, then the Dems and then it goes on and on. In the meanwhile nothing gets done! It is just a cycle of revenge.

Always has been. The difference between now and the past is that the selfishness level and the "us first at whatever cost" mentality has really blossomed into a monster recently. Both parties used to be able to work together for the sake of the common citizen, but even though we were the ones who elected them, our importance in the big scheme of things seems to have taken a back seat to their own self importance.

I realize there are a few gems out there that still have respect for the old fashioned definition of public service, but they are few and far between. Just mho, of course.

Whoa - first Alicenwonderland thinks he's in her bedroom, now he's under peachgirls bed! He gets around more than Clinton did!

You had 2 Republican Senators for how many years? You mean they didn't accomplish what you expected when the Republican controlled both Congress and the WH? Well, gee, if Republicans can't get anything done when they control everything, you ought to be looking for another party. Which is exactly what America did last November. Btw, you still have one Republican senator, but he's just not "Republican" enough.

What was the 2000 election mantra when a man, who lost the popular vote by 539,947 votes, was appointed to the WH by 1 vote in the Supreme Court: Get over it.

One vote over 50% is a mandate. ;) As if the Dems would have felt any differently IF they had won in 2000 or 2004. :rotfl:

"HE IGNORED" :charac2: Really?? All of you?? Still not "over it" I guess.

Oh no, someone's keeping score. ;)

Yup, the Republicans broke the golden rule part 2 about being nice to those you meet on your way up. But even with that, I don't think everything was lost.

I really think there was a moment, albeit a brief one, where there could've been bi-partisan cooperation. Unfortunately, it is not who the current Republicans are. They are so mired in ideology, they can't move past it. The had to embellish every story, from day 1, to make Nancy Pelosi look like Atila the Hun who was about to tear this country apart. Again, the Republicans blew a golden opportunity.

This crop of Republicans, including George Bush, took the party of Ronald Reagan and drove it right over the cliff.

The fact is, the country has left people like you. You are not in the mainstream. You aren't anywhere near the mainstream. The country has deserted you. Hell, your own party has deserted you.

There's nothing to get over for those on my side of the aisle. You lost with the country and your own party. Your ideology has been shot full of holes and has bled out. The conservatism you espoused is joke and the country got it in 2006.

Don't believe me: how well is Brownback doing among Republicans? Or Huckabee? Or Hunter? Or Tancredo? I'll save you the trouble of looking.

You people had everything and you still managed to lose it all.
