The girls turned 5 in Feb. School cut off is Sept 1 here so they will be 5 and half when they start K which is perfect in my opinion. In NC school cut off is Oct 15 and it sure is interesting how here kids born in July or Aug are considered on the edge for readiness but in NC lots of ladies are induced early Oct to make that cut off and July is considered an "old" K-er.

Anyway- Golden child will be my youngest at the start of K as his birthday is in May. I'll wait and see how he turns out- my non-professional opinion is that most children would benefit by another year of true child hood before school.

However our new town has half day kindergarten so that will be nice transition for the girls- only 3.5 hrs each day.

Twinkie - Half day Kindergarten is perfect. 5 year olds shouldn't be in school longer than that. It isn't good for them. I'm amazed at how much my boys learn just from living. Things they would never be learning if they sat in a classroom for 8 hours each day. All schools should only be half day Kindergarten. The kids here don't even get recess or music, or anything other than lunch to break up the day. It's horrible!

Uma - 99cent Mac and Cheese? Can't you buy it at walmart for 33 cents a box? Is it special?
I guess it's Swedish and it comes unassembled in a box with detailed multi-lingual instructions?
No, I guess they have an eatery there. The Mac n Cheese is not very Kraft looking. It's more the elbow macaroni (Kraft Deluxe??) and really cheesey. And, if I don't have to dirty dishes...it's worth the .99 cents to this mama. Which is my life credo, unfortunately.

That same plate of Mac n cheese in Disney would cost $8.99 on the kids menu. Ha!!!

Why? Cause I feel I should collect cash whenever Peyton Manning is mentioned.

You would be sooooo rich now!
I'll give you a dollar when you come to the meet. Ha!

Hi WT! We are anxiously waiting your posts! Hmm. What song should I sing?
"Days go by and still I think of you."
"The land of race car ya-yas. The land where you can't change lanes."
"couldn't stand to be apart. Something bout you caught my eye, something moved me deep inside."
Alright, That's it for now.

Hi Dre! Hi spongemommie! Hi Betsy Wetsy! Hi Kay! Hi lil blue!

MommyP - Yes, Syd is coming - you will both be there for one day at the same time, but it's her arrival and your departure date.

Yes, ben has played on the newsboys album (the most recent one - not out yet) - which around here doesn't mean he even knows them, but he has been hanging out with them lately.
he also sang/played on the dc talk tribute album that came out sometime in the past year.
he also has three songs that he wrote being considered by rascall flatts.

No offense taken about the lesbian thing. I wouldn't want anyone (male or female) touching me like that either! At least without asking first. ;)

Moo - Offense taken about the woo hooty! Just kidding. ;)

Utah - I would make a lesbian comment here, but I don't know which you'd rather hear and since it's coming from me and not her, it'd be different.
Awww what the hey. I'll say it anyway.
I had lots of sleepovers and stuff and was never attracted to my friends. Except for the gay ones. And then only one of them. (And the boys. I'm a freak. I liked almost all the boys.)
So you MIGHT be safe.
But then my gay friend liked all her straight friends.
So you might NOT be safe.
Hmm.
Ask her! Ha! Just say "My lesbian imaginiary friend wants to know if you had a crush on me when we were younger. She's doing a study."

And yes, I went to the same dirty place on lil g's comment.

and talking about me is a perfectly good 4500 post. Everyone should talk about me more.

Marita -
Sounds like you had a craptabulous day yesterday. hope today is better.

Haley - I would say to take it easy since summer is almost here, but I have a feeling you'll be busy in the summer too!

twinks - wow! LOVE the solarium!!!  The backyard looks great too.

pumba - you're going to have rough days, but you are strong and we are here to help when we can.

lil g - Oh good! I was taking the entree thing to a not so nice level. :) (Dirty, not mean)

Ok . No time to read the rest. I'll do it later.
I'll try to send out an email about the trip plans later on tonight.
Also, HI NAB!!!! I didn't have anything specifically to say to you.
Oh! and BabyN and I will be 30 minutes apart this weekend. SSo I need to send her a pm.

Last edited by TwinkieMama : Today at 04:31 PM. Reason: I am more worried about Bible class subtitlted "Proof that South Dakoka is the Garden of Eden."

That COULD be a problem. Why would ANYONE like South Dakota so much?

No offense WT. ;)

Thanks Moo for the Chat link. I was just too lazy to PM back. A bad friend, I know.

Well, I had sweet and sour, deep fried, heartattack and IBS waiting to happen chicken. Before that I had a salad with a piece of turkey for a snack. Does that counteract the bad dinner?

Celery - How famous of you. I have not heard a Newsboys album for years(no offense Newsboys), I also didn't know their was a DC Talk tribute album. I did enjoy them coming together and doing a song on Toby Macs album a couple years ago. I like him. He's goog in concert. I saw him in concert when I was like 7 months pregnant with Kaleb and again soon after he was born. I also THINK I saw him sitting outside BTMR with his children during the day(he was performing at NOJ that night) a couple years ago. By the time we got off the ride he was gone.

I guess I won't be seeing SID/SYD unless she is getting in early and going to MK that day. Or unless we get rich and I can talk another night out of Chad. ;)

The boys learned about Martin Luther(not king) and why we go to church for a fellowship chili dinner and reformation celebration instead of trick or treating on Halloween, today. And they even remembered it when I asked them to tell Chad about it. lol! We've also been reading the book, Squanto, together.

Now they're watching a western with Chad. Turning their little brains into mush.

Hey everyone!

Twinkie, I LOVE the new house  Lot's of space for the Twinkie family!!

So DH who sprained his ankle day before last couldn't even walk on it yesterday, and went to the doctor this morning (DD took him). Turns out it has 2 fractures in his foot:scared1: He can't walk on it at all for 10 days, and then they will give him a "soft boot", whatever that is. It's his right foot too, so he can't drive at all, not sure after the soft boot thing. And his job involves LOTS of walking, since he is a Landscaping manager.

Don't know yet if it falls under worker's comp since it happened at work, or sicktime, or he has to take vaction time. I don't know the circumstances (some wife I am, huh?)

Sorry about your DH, Marita!

That's my biggest fear that Chad would get hurt at work and not be able to work for a while!!! I'd have to put on the ol' tool belt and go learn to wire houses. ;)

Utah - I would make a lesbian comment here, but I don't know which you'd rather hear and since it's coming from me and not her, it'd be different.

Great, I guess I'm a lesbian then! ;) (actually, is it catchy?)

And I will talk about you a lot more since we play for the same team now. :thumbsup2 See ya on the rainbow thread!!!!

(I DID have an interesting dream the other night. I MUST be gay)

I'm NOT cutting my hair and wearing a sports bra!!! I'm ALL girl. I like my women girlie. princess:

LOL!!!! Hope you don't mind my very bad humo(u)r, Celery!!!!

BIG BIG BIG news today in Draper Utah! A shooting? NO! An apartment fire trapping the elderly? NO! Gas $3.49 a gallon? NO!!!!!!
Uma, we might win the highest gas price prize (U.S. - I know it is higher in Nab-land) here in Michigan. It went up to like $3.65/gallon here this week :scared1:

We got an IKEA in the Detroit area this past year or so. We waited a while before going. It's not quite as nice as the one in Chicago that I've been to. But we always have a meal while we're at IKEA. My daughter went there while she was home and bought a few things.

No MP- actually it is almost 30 years old! But it has new siding, new roof, new carpet, new ac, new furnance, new water heater and new appliances! Passed the inspection with only minor stuff except for radon in the basement which is pretty much endemic here. And fixable. The driveway needs some work but we got money back for that. the lot is 16,500 sq feet- what is that? 1/4 an acre? I don't know. And most of it is in the back yard which is even bigger than the two pictures show. I need to take out the wallpaper and repaint- not because it looks bad, just to make it ours.. and wallpaper is so out right now.
Twink, the house and yard look FANTASTIC!!! There are 43560 square feet in an acre.

My living room/dining room are wallpapered. They are all one big room. I think about how much work it would be to remove it and decide I can still live with it. But I know what you mean. At least I picked it out. Many moons ago.

Sure sounds like workers comp to me, Marita. Unless he did on the way to or from work while walking to his car. At least, where I work, if you injure yourself under those circumstances, I don't think it is covered.

Sounds pretty painful. You or your DD might have to do a little extra cooking for him for a while ;)

Phewwww, Celery - I was a little worried there when I first read your reply on the woo hooty  I will send you the chat address tonight.

Does anyone want to talk about the meet at chat? We might need to readjust meal plans since you and Tammy are having more people in your party.

CHAT - If you schedule a chat to talk about the meet, PLEASE let me know beforehand so I can plan on being there!!!

Woooo Hoooty!!!

Twinkie I love the house and yard! Looks perfect.

So did I miss anything? I have only read back a bite. I am a little afraid. Just sayin' What have you guys been up too?

Haley - We've decided to start up our own military school for our kids. WT may or may NOT be a teacher.

Since we are telling lesbian stories tonight . . .

When we went to one of my class reunions (10-year, I think), a classmate of mine who my husband had dated briefly while in high school brought her girlfriend with her. Let's just say that it was not a surprise to many of us, but DH did not react all that well when he first learned about it.

I have always thought it would be interesting to find out those statistics on my high school class.

Twinkie, congratulations on the very pretty new house with .378 acre lot. :thumbsup2 I bet you're glad the search is over. It really does look like a new house. The current owners did a great job with it.

MommyP, I think it was almost as warm her today as where you live. We actually dragged out the yard furniture. I can't believe that Memorial Day weekend is around the corner!

Sis, so how is your DH doing with his "soft boot?" I can still picture him navigating his way through the kitchen with the mop as a crutch. :rotfl: Poor thing. Well, maybe you can find some nice easy indoor chores for him to do during the next few weeks.

Hi celery, Haley, Utah, Moo, NAB, Pumba, Lil' G and everyone!

moo - is hubby going to have a problem meeting me and tammy? or was it just cuz it was his ex?
Just so everyone knows for their husbands and kids sakes -
we don't do public displays of affection. most people have no clue I swing that way. Tammy looks a bit more like your stereotypical lesbian, but she's not gonna do anything that will offend you guys -
other than be a dork.
and utah should be ok since she's gay now too.
:lmao:

Can we do chat no later than 10 pm est?
or 9 pm cst
or 8 pm mountain?
any of those times will be ok with me. :rotfl2:

SIS, he wont have his "Soft boot" for another 10 days, and not sure what is going to happen after that!
Right now he hobbles around on crutches, his foot cant touch the floor. It's really scary seeing him hobble around with one crutch trying to get some tea (when he doesn't ask), hope he doesn't break his neck! So no indoor chores for a while (and no shopping, no cooking, no mowing, no taking out the trash, no getting cash so I can just get some from his pocket)
