morning or wait is it almost pm now right? I sort of felt down in the dumps today.....I think I am missing my MIL and all of a sudden it hits....last night hubby and I went for an ice cream at the Dairy Joy.....coming home the same route we would when we visited Mil .....and the same time too.....we were the same every day coming and going.....but the dairy joy treat was good......even if the BS said NOPE......
Rug rat and I were going to walk to the Chinese Restaurant but rug rat said his legs were not up to that walk......so we went to corner store and got an italian....cheaper for sure.....rofl.....this kid is an eater......I have taken him before to the buffet one and he would eat 5 pieces of chicken.....some rice and a few sprigs of brocolli.....I tell him that he has to eat some veggies.....He will try things that other kids wont.....he now loves the onions on our sandwiches too....he was little when we would go to the corner store and the owner would first give him some cheese pieces, and then he would graduate to a pickle slice, and then a piece of ham and then he finally tried some green pepper slices....so he basically eats the whole thing with tomatoes and onions and loves it all....
SO whats new with you guys.....

Hey WT.....how goes it....:goodvibes

Ikea in Utah?

Mercy buckets!!! What is the world coming to?

And I can make mac-n-cheese for 59 cents so I guess I'll stay home too. I have some Ikea furniture. All hand-me-downs from my trendy and oh so single little sister.

I am trying to post some pics of the new house. Here are the deets:

4 bdrms upstairs
Living room, dining room, kitchen, den and "four season room" on main level
finished basement- just one big room- will be a play room
2 car garage, cul-de-sac location
Mack-daddy yard

this is half of the front- I don't know why I didn't back up and take the whole house

I LOVE the whole thing!!!! Especially the hidden Virgin Mary. She's to protect the kids from nails.

GREAT house Twinkie!!!! Plenty of room for visiting Utah girls?

Did anyone else "go there" ????

Sorry Lil'G, I think I have a naughty, naughty-girl mind. :rolleyes1

Celery, I DO think of you when we watch Veggie Tales! And I feel all guilty if I'm slicing celery for a salad or whatever. :scared: Like it's a voodoo doll.

I don't know about Mary. There was a real nice one of St. Francis inside.....

also one bedroom had Minnesota Twins curtains... but the seller specifically said they wouldn't stay...

No Nab- it is true 2 story, the garage is in the front just outside of the picture. The shed (out of picture) and the play set stay!!!!

a goog WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOTY

I like to think that ST. Anthony helps me to find stuff that is lost and we wonder if it will turn up.....st. anthony was the person that my grandma in law prayed to to find the camera that was lost in Disney.....and lo and behold there it was and returned too......then my daughter in law lost her diamond and pearl earring and wow the day mil died .....it all of a sudden showed up....MIL helped find it I am sure..
weird huh?

It is Mary. Duh. Francis was INSIDE. I am telling the nuns on you.

Wooohooty UMA and Twinkie!!!!!!!!!

Glad the you get to keep the playset.

When do you move? You get to give orders since you should not be lifting!!

Moo - I need that PM also!! I hate to go the the old chat and be talking to myself.

Uma - 99cent Mac and Cheese? Can't you buy it at walmart for 33 cents a box? Is it special?

Nab - Thanks for worrying about me. I was/am tired today and didnt feel like coming on the computer this morning. I sat on the couch and did school that way.

Twinkie - That house is amazing! Is it new? It looks new, the outside anyway, at least it's a new roof. ;) What a yard! There is nothing like that here, plus that's really cool northern grass tha we don't have here. Please tell me where you live, so I can get us moved ASAP! What a nice place to live! How big is the yard? 1/2 acre? 3/4? So nice!! We had neighbors once who made alittle box like thing out of concrete on the front of their house for a Mary statue. It was quite comical because it was totaly crooked. lol!

Hi WT. What's up?

Mommy P glad you are not sick today.

I think the Mac n Cheese is on there lunch menu. They also have like 99 cent breakfast too sometimes.

My mom has statues outside too but she can't keep up with the peeling paint on them.

Oh, I didn't know Ikea served food also. We don't have one here.

Last edited by NAB : Today at 02:17 PM. Reason: Do you stop school in the summer?

Nope, I just school year round taking off when we want. Like last week we took off. Plus it would be silly not to do school here in the summer since the kids will be cooped up all day inside. We take more days off in winter when we can actually be outside. So as we finish books from this year we'll just start right into next year. If I can ever have the money to buy them.

No MP- actually it is almost 30 years old! But it has new siding, new roof, new carpet, new ac, new furnance, new water heater and new appliances! Passed the inspection with only minor stuff except for radon in the basement which is pretty much endemic here. And fixable. The driveway needs some work but we got money back for that. the lot is 16,500 sq feet- what is that? 1/4 an acre? I don't know. And most of it is in the back yard which is even bigger than the two pictures show. I need to take out the wallpaper and repaint- not because it looks bad, just to make it ours.. and wallpaper is so out right now.

We are moving east (just a little bit) so it won't be the prairie but we do get nice trees! I am a Carolina girl and I love trees. However we will still be MANY miles from the nearest beach so I don't know how well you would transplant. ;)

We only go to the beach because it's the ONLY thing to do here. Are their lakes or springs or rivers to swim in? We thought about relocated to NC a few years ago, but didn't. Obviously. No beaches there either. The Ocala area is quite far from the beach, but we just LOVE the springs up there. Very neat! Last resort(If Chad is totally out of work and we can't pay for our house anymore, we move to Ga, so he can work for his Dad and we can live in his extra house for a time, no beaches their either.(Augusta area), but there is a lake, which is okay. )

How the new construction business there? We need to move to where it's booming since I think it's reached it's peak and is going downhill here now.

What is radon?

It looks new to me too. If all those things are new you should be good for awhile with out having to fix anything.

That makes sense to teach year round.

I didn't even volunteer for Scientist in the class because they really make the parent teach little groups a subject. This year was bugs. Last year I did and I had to teach the kids about levelers. They gave us little people and a ruler to use as a leveler. I had little people flying across the room. Had no idea if I was teaching them the right thing.....:rotfl: Just read it off a paper and hoped for the best.

lol Nab!

I've just started the book How to Teach your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lesson's with Ethan(he's 4). He's done 3 lessons so far and he is remembering his sounds from one day to the next. And really understand the different things it's teaching him(like saying a work fast after I say it slow and saying a word slow, like dragging out each of the sounds) I was impressed. If he continues to enjoy it and I can get him to know his basics I can skip him right into 1st grade phonics when he starts next year. That will be really nice!

Miltary school :scared1: Poor Kaleb....

But I know what you mean. Nicholas gives me a run for my money. We are both stuborn too. He always has to have the last word. Which gets him into trouble....because that is what gets his games taken away.

Last edited by MommyPoppins : Today at 01:38 PM. Reason: I can already tell that I should skip grade school with Kaleb and put him right into Military school.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Radon is a natural gas from the ground. In high levels it is toxic but normally it just dissapates unless you have a basement without a lot of natural circulaton. They fix it by putting a pipe from the basement to the outside or attic- this lets the gas float away instead of congregating in your playroom.

Yes DH wanted an older home for character but I am pleased that this one shouldn't need any major work for a while. The present owners obviously took good care of it.

Hmm- here in Kansas we have rivers but no one gets in them. Some manmade lakes for swimming, boating etc. Nice weather a lot of the year so lots of parks, public tennis courts, private pools etc.

As for construction- it was booming and then suddenly kind of stopped- lots of room to build and lots of builders but I don't know how much work is out there right now. However construction folks out here have lots of work repairing after floods, tornados etc. ;) The new town has room to build and all the surrounding areas are toadily built up so our realtor told us to expect all fields to be neighborhoods or shopping centers in the next 10-15 yrs. Also rumors of 30,000 new jobs (and thus new home) to some of the outlying towns.

Today is DS13's last day of school. So my last day to lounge around and DIS all day. Gotta be a goog example tomorrow.

One of the lil twinkies wants to learn to read. Maybe I'll teach her this summer....I am afraid she will be bored in school and get up to trouble.

Twinkie - Aren't your girls 5? Were their birthdays after the school year cut off? So will they be 6 when they start K? School should be so easy for them then. It seems sometimes the older they are when they start the more naturally things just come to them.
