O.k., I know some of you will be in shock and awe since I'm finally posting a picture of TJ (taken yesterday). Sorry for not doing it sooner, but the photo really needed to be cropped the orig. was too big.

TJ's three weeks old as of yesterday.

:cloud9: AWWWW! Look at him! I love him!!!!
How much does he weigh now?

Well, it was the START of one, Marita. I started Chapter 3 but lost it mid post. GRRRR.

I'll try again tomorrow. Anyone here know how to post pics from a MAC on here? I've already uploaded them to Photbucket.

OK, summer is here, kids are out of school, I found a super cool Chore Chart you can customize to each of your children!!!! :thumbsup2

My boys each picked a different Pokemon and Norah got a princess!
YOU customize the chores and the colors etc. Then you can use stars or stickers or initials etc. to mark each done chore. At the end of the week you reward them with $$ or ice cream sundaes or a trip to the dollar store (whatever rocks your kids socks!).

One of Norah's "chores" is to "Be Nice" ((It works!)) She also is in charge of feeding the kitties and brushing her teeth!

Mooo hoooty my power is back on!!!!!!!!!

We have been with no power since 6:00. I thought I was going to have to go to bed. The kids were there early. Hannah spent about an hour in the tub playing since we had no tv and couldn't go outside. Nicholas did a lot of complaining. I just read a book. He was lost.

Had major wind here. It split the neighbours front tree and they are away for the weekend. Scared the kids.

Hope it is out of its system since we are going to Paramount Canada's Wonderland tomorrow. Which if you didn't know is an amusement park. It is hubby's work day there tomorrow so we can win prizes etc.

Howdy! Finally getting onto the Dis! We had a great day at the park! It was fun but HOT! DD had bright red cheeks from the heat (and so did her Mommy :)) They had such cute rides in kiddie land! We rode a miniature plummet ride and DD liked it! Here is a pic of us in front of the carousel...DD loved it!!!!
008.jpg

We did not get to meet any characters as DD was sleeping when I finally found them!
Here is one of other of us on the kiddie plummet ride!

Celery - How nice all of the kids had prom clothes! My mom's best friend fostered children for years and absolutey loved it! That's so wonderful for you to do!!!!

MommyP - The kittens are adorable along with the kiddo's in the background :)

Babynurse - You've been to Kennywood??? How cool is that! We love going!!! Also, the chicken recipe sounds great! I think I will make it next week, thanks!

Twink - NOthing better than a choco chip cookie! Ok, now my mouth is watering! Did you figure out how to share an mp3? I would love to hear it! I'm not sure if photobucket allows such things or not?

Nab - Glad all went well at church! A mohawk  Very funny about Nicholas and the bells :) We had horrible storms here too! Our Direct TV went out but we didn't lose power. I hope it's over now!

Lil Blue - TJ is so sweeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!! OH MY! Thanks for sharing.

Marita - Is everything feeling ok now? DH went today and is still in pain!

Uma - I love the chore chart! Sounds like something my Mom did with us!

Sorry this is so long...there was a lot to catch up on! Have a great evening!!!

Yikes, Nab, no power? :scared1: That sucks!

I bought this little 5.5" black and white battery powered tv last year in case of hurricanes. It is still in the box thank goodness!!Oh that reminds me, I better check on my batteries! No sales tax this week on hurricane items ( a whopping 6.5% off, which is great if you buy a generator, but not so much on batteries).

We didnt have a hurricane in Orlando (or much more than heavy winds) since 1979, when DH and I evauated from our mobile home to my BIL's apartment, (who was freshly divorced or separated, I forget) with my 3 week old baby. Anyway, it wasnt that bad. Had a hurrican party. Most of the party goers had a skinny dip in the pool, not hubby or me though, lol

2004 was pretty bad with 3 storms hitting right in our path. Killed the roof and 3 trees. and days without power. However, if you stay at Disney , you are safe! Power backups, and they feed and entertain you for free! Characters, child activities, you name it.

LOL, I just had to look back to see what started me on this subject. Glad your power is back, Nab!

Betsy -- loved the pictures. You took you baby on that ride that goes up and back down :scared1: They look so little.

They have a little one at the place we are going tomorrow. Hannah and I will be in kiddie land while Hubby and Nicholas will be on the big rides. They have Dora, Spongebob and Rugrat characters there.

We had high winds and very little rain, it was really weird. Now they say a cold front will be coming in. Hopefully not to cold.

Marita - hope hurricane season isn't to bad this year. I remember you saying Disney is good during a hurricane. Don't think I want to find out.....

Last edited by NAB : Today at 10:16 PM. Reason: Marita did you get your Big Mac?

No Nab, I decided I did not want it bad enough to go in traffic. I had an grilled ham and cheese sammy instead. It was good. But I am thinking I may need some additional fortification, since that is all I ate today.

That mutt of a dog of mine is driving me nutts!!!!!!

Dog: I want to go to Daddy' room, BARK, look moanfullyl at the door

He is being ignored.

Then, "bark, I want to go outside, NOW"

So I let him out.

3 minutes later, "Bark, I want to come INSIDE"
so I let him in
Then moanful barking and lurking at DH's door again. SO I let him in there finally
I am tempted to look at Vietnamese recipes......

I have had one of those days.
I am beat.
But I wanted to say hello.

Hello.

My day in smiles:

WAY TOO MANY SMILIES TO QUOTE!!!!!!
You must have had a heck of a day yesterday, Haley! Hope today went better!!!

Well, as some of you know we are going to the local amusement park today called Kennywood (not after Kenny Rogers who has had BAD plastic surgery ;) ) Eliza will probably be mad when she realized Minnie is no where in site she can still meet Kenny the Kangaroo :yay: This will be my first time visiting the kiddie area so that should be interesting! Amusement parks take on a whole different light when you go with your child I am learning. It's going to be really hot here today so we'll have to take lots of breaks in the AC. Hope you all have a great Friday! I will checkin later...maybe with some pics!
LOVED your pics, Betsy!!! It looks like you and your little :cutie: had a fun-filled day!

Kenny Rogers looks perpetually surprised now. Good-Gravy! He was aiming for "youthful" but got "cat woman". Bless his heart!
Yikes!

Been a wild couple of weeks here. My mom had surgery on Tuesday but is doing well. We had our church conference/business meetings last week and today we are possibly buying a new truck. Yippee!!!!:cool1:
Hiya, Dre! Missed you.

Nab-Mom had her gall bladder taken out. The surgeon said that it was rotten and as hard as a rock. He also said that she had two stones the size of golf balls. :scared:

Alas, the truck deal fell through so back to the drawing board. The guy we had going to bid on it for us (it's a repo auction) said that the auctioneer only took one bid and then sold it. It looked like to him that the buyer and the auctioneer had a "little deal" going. Arrgh. Fortunately we are not in any hurry. We have about a month or so to find the perfect one.
Sorry to hear about your mom's surgery. Hope she has a speedy recovery.
goog luck with the truck shopping! Are your boys out of school yet?

We're starting the process of becoming foster parents. :cloud9: I think it will be very good for us to not be so selfish and devote our time to helping people.
So any and all parenting/fostering advice would be appreciated.
I also have it on good authority from two different sources that us eventually adopting will not be a problem, we'll just only be able to have one name on the paperwork.
You and Tammy are brave! It's nice there are so many mamas here to offer advice.

how often do you guys chat? Is it an invite only thing?
If Marita didn't send you the address, just let me know!. How is the packing coming along?!

Is there a way to share a MP3 file?

A friend of mine just went on a trip to WDW and also recently started a job as a co-host of morning radio show. Anyway- she did a parody of a trendy song based on her re-discovery of how delightful it is to wear a fanny pack.:lmao: :lmao:

for SOME reason I thought of you all.
Oh, do share, Twink!!! Speaking of packing - how did you do today?

Shout out to the stray cow DisneyMommyMichelle who's out there in the pasture being shy.

Hope she comes out with the rest of the fold soon :woohoo:

gotta go, TJ's getting louder, he's finding his lungs :scared:
Lil Blue - What a great photo of Lil TJ!!! :woohoo:

Also, hi, DMM! :wave2: :snooty: (Not being snooty, that is Michelle's trademark smilie!)

Well, at least she can take Gas-X...

Oh, power outages are never fun. Glad your power is back on, Nabbie! We had quite a bit os wind here also yesterday. It blew in some VERY hot, sticky weather. Tonight, it is no longer sticky - we are having a cold front moving through this evening. I went to see that Knocked Up movie with a friend and it was pretty chilly when we came out of the theater. BTW, lots of adult language and adult content :scared:

Kenny Rogers was ripped off! YIKES! His eyes look all beedie now.

Like his pony tails are too tight!!!! :rotfl2: Bless his heart!

Betsy- OMGoodness! You are sooooo cute! I'm pretty sure my thighs would be spilling out of the thigh corrals on that ride!

Celery! I really am soooo proud of you two! My years as a foster mama were so rewarding! It's tough to deal with their "stories" (what kind of abuse they've dealt with) and having to do visits with the birth parents who are troubled was hard for me! It got easier, though. I set a goal to try to have their stay with me be the best I could possibly make it for them no matter how short their stay. I mostly got baby girls and totally fell in love with them. But when I got an older sibling in the deal, I ALWAYS taught them to pray! I hoped it was a skill they could use after they left my arms. (I really miss some of them!)

The cool thing is, often they are up for adoption! SO, be patient and you'll be blessed with your forever child.
