sorry about DH's aunt Moo!

One of mine passed away last October, and I didnt even find out about until a month or more later. Why didn't my mom tell me? :confused3

In happier news, the work team is going out to lunch on Tuesday for a welcome lunch for 2 new people for our sister resort (a new assistant and an Intern). Going to the steakhouse at the Contemporary. I was just looking over the menu. I think I will have the french onion soup and the philly steak.

Oh, and I finally got my 35 year statue today. True to form (and cost cutting) it shrunk again. 25 years was about 12", 30 years about 9", 35 yrs about 6" .....

But still really heavy, solid bronze on a wood pedestal. This one is Pinocchio, and he is holding a red apple for color interest (why an apple? I that related to the storyline? I can't remember)

I love my Tinkerbell best, she was for 25 and has wicked wings, you could klll someone with her!
30 yrs was Jiminety Cricket
20 years was a ring, which I dont wear (at the time I got it, old timers were targeted for layoffs)
15 years was the Castle, which I lost somewhere (I hope in the garage)

Sorry for boring you with this, LOL

Wow Marita that statue is really shrinking, what was it again?

Hubby's side is like that too Marita , tell us way after the fact.

Moo-- don't send that weather this way. We haven't had much wind today. That seems to be the theme this winter, major winds. Snow is melting again today. Still now sun though. It is starting to get depressing with out it.

I just updated if you care to read :flower3: .

I'm off to Nyquil and cough up the other lung. :scared:

I asked DH if he ran me over with a Humvee while I slept last night. He said no, but informed me I snored again. To which I growled and offered for him to sleep on the couch. :rolleyes1

Marita -- I think Pinocchio has an apple because he was suppose to go to school since he wanted to be a real boy. Apple for the teacher.

UMA-- go to bed and feel better....

Wendy, I love my seperate bedroom!
But don't tell WT, it would ruin the Marita chronicles :rolleyes1

Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you for that useful post, Nab!

Thanks for the heads up on the post, Nab. I don't post on other CB threads very often, but I couldn't resist chiming in about petfinders. I'm not going to DH's aunt's funeral tomorrow, but he and his brother are attending. I have a couple things I can't really get out of.

Hope you don't get this wind. Gusts up to 45 mph.

Marita, we have had similar situations where we found out about a family member's passing way after. It's frustrating when you might have liked to have said good bye or have seen some of the relatives.

Cool that you got your statue even though they have shrunk over the years.

I never said I did. You simply inferred that I have it in me from my post. I leave all the clever and witty posts to the professionals.
*yawn* You're boring me.

wt - Her sister really IS ariel!
I tell everyone about PJ and her famous Hollywood sister.
When I was taking down my christmas cards out of my cube today, I decided to save the one from PJ.
And I said to Lisa "Oh! I'm gonna save the one that PJ Lauren sent me."
She thought PJ was a boy!
No!
I don't talk to boys!
Except for Lil g and wt and donald.
And all my mens on POF. But that's different.
Cel knows all, WT, it's true. She really IS Ariel. YUP. Ariel cusses like a sailor, loves bacon more than anything in the world, and has a passion for classic rock. Right???

My sister just emailed me and told me that my nephew was beat up by 5 guys last night and his skate board was taken. :sad2:

He was away from home. He goes to college out of town, he is 18. He is home tonight. I just hope this doesn't scare him so bad he decides want to go back to school. He is a great artist and is taking graphic design. He wanted this so bad and we helped him get there.
:grouphug: I'm really sorry to hear that Nab. That is horrible. I have other things I could say, but they're not tasteful. Anyway, hope he's doing okay.

One cute kid story. Then I won't post any more for a few days. I promise. Today at school this little guy comes up to me, a first grader and he's obviously distraught but I don't know why yet. Our conversation went something like this:

Me: "what's wrong?"
Him: *staring at floor, won't make eye contact* ...eventually he says "Miss Lauren, my pants are all wet because I was in deep concentration and I guess my mind didn't have time to pee!"

Deep concentration??? Too funny!!!
:rotfl:
They crack me up on a daily basis.

Hi, everyone. :wave2: How was everyone's day?

Hi all,
just got in a little bit ago. At work today, Pluto(aka Robert) called and wanted to meet for wings when I got off. He was in town working and hadn't seen Jeff's pix. So we had a few beers and some en fuego wings. I left about 3 and got home. Logged on and my phone rang. One of my basketball buddies wanted to go eat before tonight's game. Ok. Had a burger and a Diet Coke. (I swear it won't kill me). Then straight to the game. We decided to go to the game in New Orleans next Thursday. For us this is planning ahead. We've hopped a plane with 2 hours notice to go to backwater Texas for a game that had no meaning. More fun than sitting home. Got in and read up.
Cel, I feel so special. One of about 3 guys you talk to. And whoever those other guys are.
:worship: BBN- You rock. An absolute NFL HotT.
Lexi- no snow at all. Didn't see any sleet either. Just lots of rain. And that fatastarstar weatherman had the nerve on tv this morning to say he nailed it. But then you may remember him for his world famous video.(Warning infantile adult behaviors)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPTgvPuJTzo&feature=related
Peej: I can almost match your almost famous by assciation. My cousin Bob has a daughter who was Minnie Mouse in Disney on Ice. They flew her and her costume each in first class seats for the grand opening of Disney in Japan.
I didn't know this till last weekend.
NAB-What happened to your nephew stinks. Prayers are on their way.
My smoke detector is hardwired and old and goes off every time I cook. I just hang a hat on it and it stops. On Friends Phoebe had one that wouldn't stop even after she took it apart and broke the pieces.(Everything relates to either Friends or Seinfeld, or both)
Better go play trivia before it's too late. Night Moovers.

TGIF!!!

Lynette and I are trying to compile a birthday list for Moovers. We still need birth dates for ALL THE GUYS! If you are a man, please pm me your birth date. Thank you!

WT.....Your Marita Chronicles are hilarious! And so close to home...I'm sure! Right Marita?

MommyP
....Nothing sexier than a man carrying a diaper bag! It always tells you that THAT man is secure in his masculinity and always thinking of his wife.

Moo....Sorry about Mr. Moo's aunt. (I hate the funeral home!)

DTD....Is that the weatherman in BG??? What an idiot! How did that tape get released? He didn't do that on the air did he? And...no snow here either. We always get any serious snow in February it seems.

PJ....Poor little concentrating man with the wet pants! Did you have to get him cleaned up?

NAB
....I hope your nephew is oK! Bless his heart! Did it happen at night? Hard to make kids understand not to be out alone at night. Even boys.

Pumba....Glad it was only bad smoke detectors and YAY for a goog report from the Dr.!!!

Wendee....I haven't even read your last installment yet! Slow down! But I am done with the Twilight series....thank goodness. What are we reading next??? (I can't wait to hear who they cast as Alice!)

BNCG, Lynette, Celery, Twink, and everybody
..........:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY!!!!

Hi there!:flower3:

Babynurse invited me to join y'all. I'm usually quite shy :goodvibes :cloud9: :goodvibes and unassuming (or not) - some of y'all may know me from other DIS threads in the past. I've not posted much in the past few months (for various and sundry reasons that are much too long, boring and convoluted to get into here & now) but I do tend to drop by and lurk every few days when I have a moment. I will probably not ever be a 10-posts-a-day guy, but more like 10-posts-a-week (or month). I'll just drop in with a random thought every now and then. Sooooo, since I was actually invited, I thought I'd take a few moments to say 'hi' to you.

Personal info about GoofyDad869:

1. I can claim to have met E & PJ in real life in the not-so-distant past. I (well, my family & I) even had a small supporting role in E & PJ's trip report. I'm honestly DISappointed that they passed us up for the Golden Globes best supporting role category, but what can ya do?!? :confused3

2. I can tell some AWESOME Peyton Manning stories.

3. I can totally rock Wii "Boogie" - my favorite karaoke song is "Fergielicious". It's not about skill, really, but exuberance...

4. I do not look good in stirrup pants.

That's about all I can think of for right now.

That's just horrible. I really hope he's ok, inside and out. I hope the responsible are dealth with.

hello everyone......

Today was a screwed up mess......started off I heard a noise and it was coming from the second floor apartment.......so I know that I have to go upstairs and check it out......get the key and go and listen and realize it is the smoke detector.....we have the hard wire ones and battery backup.....so I sniff until I hyperventilate and find NOTHING......cant unplug the stupid thing to shut the thing off.....so I call Hubby at work.......he says go and check the third floor apartment too to make sure .....so I go and sniff until I start to hyperventilate again......nothing ....so then he says check the back halls taht lead to the two apartments...so I do and sniff and sniff and more sniffs....nothing.....and then I call him and tell him that .....he says check the celler well yah brian........so I am done and he tells me how to take the noise maker out of the ceiling...so FINALLY I did it......no noise.....just one lone bleep at the end......Hubby picks up new one when he returns.
SO I have exactly 24 minutes to get my self together to get to the diabetic clinic for my six month talk to........MY A1C was pretty darn good........that is a blood test that tells the doctor where my blood sugars were for the last three months.....and I did GOOD.....phewwwwww..

so get back from there and check out the house again cause hubby wants it checked every hour to make sure......never can tell with old apartment blds..

NOW we have street signs in the snow banks that say....do not park snow removal.....Oh great.....no sleep tonight cause they do snow removal in the middle of the night.....new storm is coming in after midnight and it will change over to sleet , ice and freezing rain.......aint life great......NOT....

so I missed your chatter today but will read it tomorrow PROVIDING they have school..dump and runs......DID I mention I hate snow .....and snow days,,,,we are already making up four days.....

I hope today is calm and peaceful. Just pure bliss!

Oh, no, Nabbie!!! :grouphug: I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew's trouble. Sure hope he is OK. Please keep us posted.

Yay, Marie, for doing so well with your test! :dance3: Bet it's a relief to have that over for a while. I hate when stuff happens with the house and DH isn't home.

It was spitting a little snow/sleet on my drive home from work. Yuck. The wind is howling tonight too. It's supposed to get colder again this weekend, so it must be blowing in tonight.

I saw the doc this morning and he said my toe is healing fine. It was a hassle to have it done, but I'm glad I did.

One of DH's aunts passed away this week, so we went to the visitation tonight. Hadn't seen any of those cousins for years. It was really interesting to see them and their kids, many of whom are grown now.

Sorry about your loss, well his.

sorry about DH's aunt Moo!

That sounds like a very nice collection. I'd love to see them.

I just updated if you care to read :flower3: .

I'm off to Nyquil and cough up the other lung. :scared:

I asked DH if he ran me over with a Humvee while I slept last night. He said no, but informed me I snored again. To which I growled and offered for him to sleep on the couch. :rolleyes1

Wendy this bug is just nasty. Matt had it for 2 weeks and Zach is still not better after the first week. He went to the Dr. and they are "guessing" influenza. He's had a fever for 7 days now.

Get better sweetie.

DTD: Men and their silly infantile behaviors. I bet his mamma is so proud of him.

Was that just extra footage or was that aired?

WT: Has any of the big networks contacted you yet?

Happy Friday EVERYONE!

If anyone wants to play a game of scrabulous just invite me. I am always game!

Heyyyyyyyyyy! How are ya? You finally decided to pop in on the dark side? bwahahaha

Everybody this is GoDaddy. GoDaddy this is everybody. He earned that KnickKname right here on the dis. Surprised?

Some of y'all might remember him from my TR. If you'll recall his family had matching shirts but not MATCHING matching shirts, b/c that would be just crazy. Which of course, he is not.:rolleyes1

It's a fun group. We don't bite...some of us don't.

p.s. Thanks for telling the group how you met me and my family way back in May. I can see how much of an impact that made on you and your family. :snooty:

Trixie and Utah: I think I'll ask the hospital if we can provide the diaper vest and uterus ball caps to our daddies-to-be in my childbirth class.

Nab: Glad Buddy is doing fine! And I am so sorry to hear about your nephew.

Moo: I am sorry for your family's loss. You've had a difficult few weeks.:grouphug:

Marita: I think Pinocchio carried an apple on the way to school, didn't he?

Monica: You survived the kids and are back this morning. Woo hoo.

Pumba: I second the thoughts for a peaceful and calm day today.

MommyP: "Real Men Carry Diaper Bags" You should trademark that and put it on a t-shirt. Hey, if people will buy diaper vest, why not this?

WT: Your chronicles truly crack me up. Especially the part about the twin beds. :rotfl: p.s. I hear ya about not being old enough to have a kid start high school. I'm in the same boat next year. *big sigh*

DTD: You know what was funny about your post? You would think I would have liked this part the best:
":worship: "BBN-You rock.
ty, btw. However, and I swear this is true, I was much more interested in this part:
"en fuego wings.":
:rotfl: When I read that, I immediately thought of how I want some wings today. I have a food issue. Ask the pirateballerina.

Celery: When's your bday? Maybe we can chip in for a diaper vest for ya.

GoDaddy: Ummm. Hi. again. BTW, anytime you want to share Peyton stories, feel free. I am sure everyone else will find them as interesting as I do. Moovers, do you guys realize that GoDaddy has MET Peyton Manning.:faint:

Lexi: The guys aren't cooperating with the bday list? Well, there's a surprise. Good luck with that.

PJ: Hello. That is all.

Welcome, GoDaddy! :wave2:

I DO remember you and as I recall you live in close proximity to that hotbed of orange activity that strikes fear and loathing in the hearts of all KY fans.....second only to Loo-uh-vull.

Welcome, anyway!

When's your birthday????????

GUYS?? Birthdays!?!?

Your wish is my command:

One day about a year ago, Sir Peyton Manning of Indianapolis had gone to an awards supper fresh from killing a deer, when Prince Bill Belichik told him he (Bill) was going to win the Super Bowl. Peyton vowed to stop him and collected every Colts fan he could find to create a resistance movement. Along the way he met, wooed, and won the Lady Ashley's heart, who slipped him information about Prince Belichik's plans. When Lady Ashley was captured post-game by nefarious means (during the 2007 Conference Championship Game), Peyton and his men decided to storm the RCA Dome to rescue her. Peyton's band of merry men ended up winning 38-34, and went on to kill Da Bears a couple of weeks later to claim their Super Bowl rings.

The End. And they all lived happily ever after.

2. Yeah, yeah, we get it. You have the most clever username ever.

3. Everybody take note of that statement and see that you follow his lead.:rotfl:

4. Dangit, I didn't have time to make popcorn or slip into footie jammies, but it was a GREAT story. :woohoo:
