Wondering on when does Disney actually classify Summer of 2026 start - June or July?

The announcement of Muppets Rock n Roll Coaster, summer of 2026 anyone think that might be the middle of June or closer to July?

Bluey and Bingo - do you think that they might be a part of Cool Kid Summer? If so, guessing thst would start around the beginning of June

Unknown. Bluey is easy enough to roll out so I’d guess that’s good to go early June. Muppets roller coaster not so much as there are numerous things that could push that later into summer.

Disney's announcement just says "summer" so it could be anytime in June, July, August or even September (if you include the fact that fall starts in September).

Summer on the calendar starts on June 21, 2026.

Disney is being vague because they know if they give an exact date -- and they have to delay -- they will get an outpouring of people whose trip was "ruined" because of it.

I suspect we will hear reports of these being tested or soft-opened before the official opening, so watch for that.

Back when they first announced the Guardians opening they gave it a "Summer 2022" timeframe and it ended up being Memorial Day Weekend so I lean towards thinking they consider that the unofficial start to summer. That said I don't think anyone has a clue about how it'll work for RnRC beyond what they announced. The pre-show closure came out of nowhere, now they're saying "Spring" for full closure and "Summer" for reopening. I selfishly want them to keep it open through mid-April, would like to think they want to keep it open longer during busier times and deal with the closure as summer ramps up and crowds die down a bit but who knows.

The Disney Parks Blog article's list of the things opening in Summer 2026 includes Banana Ball on May 29-30, and the new storyline at Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run on May 22, so May counts as summer for Disney. However, that doesn't necessarily mean Rock n Roller Coaster will reopen then. May is the earliest you can hope for.

With Soarin over America opening Memorial and Millennium Falcon 2.0 right before that WDW is gearing up for "Summer" to begin by end of May. Alas, it looks like a rolling situation for the summer debuts as they didn't commit to dates for other summer items beyond those 2. Although maybe the other stuff won't be too late as they specifically called out the Animation stuff as "later in summer".

New rides can be delayed for any number of reasons. Things like construction delays, material shortages or bad weather causing a delay in outdoor work. I think it has less to do with when Disney considers the 'Summer' to start and more about giving them leeway in completing large projects. Large projects can take more or less time than originally planned.

True, but more recently they advertised the nighttime parade as summer of 2025 and that didn't start until mid-late July. Honestly they probably don't even know yet.
