I ate to much and I didnt even have to eat supper....My vice at the buffet was their chocolate pudding cake.....I know I shouldnt of but I DID.....it is so darn good....the meal itself was good choices. hahahha

Today I am getting ready to go pick up the mini pastries for tomorrows holiday family party. (we rent a hall because we to many) and then I go for a complete restoration......dye job, hair cut and curl.......I am in need....look like an old lady....well I know I am but I dont want to look to bad.....LOL.

hope you have a great day everyone.:grouphug:

Wow , I am ready for the kids to be on holidays now. All the shopping and wrapping is done....:woohoo:

The kids were so excited to go to school this morning because it is one big party today. Hannah even got to wear her P.J's. They both took in treats to share. Can't wait to hear about there day when they get out.

Moo-- I have been baking up a storm. I have made 12 different kinds of cookies so far. I have my Cocoa Kiss one to make yet and I have to make more chocolate chip ones since mulitplying the receipe by 4 wasn't enough.:lmao:

This is such a busy time, can't believe Christmas is next Friday already!

Yesterday I was told that the boy I was watching this week was not coming today, so I had a day off.

Got Mal on the bus and me and maddy headed to the chiropractor. They have done wonders for me.

Then we shopped, picked up Mal from school, had lunch and shopped some more.

Went home got the boys and made a few returns. I hate finding stuff cheaper somewhere else after I purchased it. So I had to go and fix that.

Now I am waiting for bed time so I can make an inventory and wrap!

Target had some cool wrapping paper this year. Retroish.

I think I just have a few gift cards left and I'm DONE!!!

had my hair done and I feel much better.....but it was mighty cold coming home....i decided to walk the almost one and a half miles to get here but I did it....froze a little and warmed up fast .....

I did a few more things this afternoon and hubby came home......we wrapped all the gifts.(well he did) ....love a guy that can cook, make pie crusts and wraps gift....I did the writing on the tags.....

we went out for supper and then home again......Hubby put the tree up and the angel at the top.....tomorrow we can put the lights on the tree....

Tomorrow night is our family party and it will be great fun...probably close to fifty people coming so far......we are a good size family with us kids, our spouses, our kids and our kids kids and some of those in the family have kids that have had kids and those kids have kids...unbelievable......

so have a good night my friends and stay warm....

Oh yah....half my cards went out and then I ran out of stamps .......that was wednesday.......I will get a few books tomorrow at the post office

Thanks for all the support on the smoking thing, especiallly Pumba! You seem to it all ahead of me and give me courage

YAY for all you guys baking and partying and giftbuying and school events.
I've just been busy with work.

This weekend I have to Christmasfy my house to get ready for Xmas Eve part, and make a shopping list (at least buy a turkey so it can defrost).

Going to work on Monday, I dont know why, I just should have taken it off too. :confused3 But after that I am off till next week to cook and clean and shop and wrap. Hopefully I can at least get the tree done this weekend while hubby is off.

Last night I made prok and beans with hot dogs and a slice of texas toast on the side, because I was out of supplies for my monthsssssssss long habit of chicago rolls with procsuitto and butter cheese. I had half left over for tonight.
Soo, I preheated the oven for the toast, and put the leftover beans on low on the stove. Timer for the stove went off, I ignored it, totally forgetting about the beans until I smelled a terrible burning smell.......

So got what I could down the garbage disposal, put in water and dishwashing liquid in the put, and luckily it all cooked off nicely and is now resting in the dishwasher for a thorough cleaning.

I opened another can of beans and cut up 2 hot dogs to go in, and a slice of toast is ready for the oven, but I just cant get myself to cook it yet....

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Wow the day is flying by.....

Everyone must be getting into the holiday spirit and are busy.

Pumba -- hope your party today goes well.

Marita-- Is your tree up now?

Only 5 more days until Christmas!!!

Nab, no tree yet! Dang, I need to add that to my list!!! 5 more days? UGHHHHHHH! My big countdown is to Xmas eve, so only 4 days, after that I can coast.

Sorry about all my northern friends being pummeled by that big storm,, looks scary! We are having a mini cold spell here too, down to the 40's at night (I know, I know, I'm not complaining..)

I woke up inadvertantly at 7:39 AM today:scared1: The I sqandered the day away working on a non-essential work project that was fun (at the time), so I got NOTHING done toward Xmas party.

Now I'm tired, but I'm afraid if I take a nap I wont wake up till 11, sigh!!!!!

On the good side, talked to a couple of relatives today and green bean casserole, candied yams, mashed potatoes and gooey pumpkin cake will be brought to the party, YAY! FIL always brings pie, and I bought stuff today to make Pumba's cheese cake.

I tried to order the honey baked spiral ham online today, somehow they manage to totally get me lost, and I'm pretty computer literate :sad2: So finally tried calling, but by then they were closed, so that will have to wait.

All presents are ordered or have arrived (that I am giving anyway).
My nephew from Germany and a friend are in Florida right now, driving up the Gulf Coast. So I invited them for the party for Christmas Eve (after scaring away from Disney over Christmas).

Dinner Menu:
Turkey and stuffing
Spiral cut honey-baked ham
Mashed potatoes and gravy (from a jar)
Peas and Carrots
Green Bean Casserole
Candied Yams
Chicken flavored rice
Rolls with butter
Cranberry sauce

Snacks before dinner: (simple, everyone is alway late)
Deviled eggs
Celery sticks stuffed with cream cheese (with olives and plain)
Chips and Dip

Dessert:
Pumpkin Pie
Gooey Pumpkin cake
Cheese cake
Apple Pie
Whipped cream

Drinks:
World famous Strawberry Bowle
Wine
Sodas

Am I missing anything??? besides a cleaning lady to clean the house before and after???

Please send up some prayers for my hubby and daughter tonight. They are only about half-way back to Michigan and have been stopped on I-77 in West Virginia for hours due to accidents (with no food in the car) :scared1: Mari says from listening to the news that it sounds like the turnpike might be closed.

Dang snow.

They're still hoping to get moving soon so they can stop at a hotel for the night or at least pull off somewhere to get something to eat.

Marita - Sounds like you have your Christmas Eve plans in place. I need a cleaning lady too! I'm going to wrap gifts tonight so I can clear them off my dining room table.

Nabbie - Those cookies sound SO good! I'm going to try to make some reduced calories stuff. I have a recipe for pumpkin spice cupcakes amd am going to make some oatmeal/walnut/dried cranberry cookies.

Mony - w00t for your unexpected "day off"!

Moo, prayers coming for your DH and Mari. I saw the news tonight, it looks pretty dang awful. I hope they can at least find a hotel for the night.

My plans are in place OK, it's the execution I have issues with!
I need some magical Disney mice or something to get it all done.
Loafing around all day today didnt help any.

Yikes! Cheryl, any updates?

Staying up to 3am last night wrapping made for a very unproductive day today. I was reading in bed so Maddy could fall asleep and I wound up falling asleep with her. Naps mess me up.

But, I am 95% done with shopping and wrapping. I may have a few GC's to get, but that should be all.

I did find a small bag with some trinkets in it, so that's my 5% I still have to do.

My 11 year old called me an idiot 5 times yesterday this close to Christmas. Why? I took the remote away from him.:sad2:

No progress - sounds like they may be stuck on the road for the night.

The National Guard came through and said they were clearing multiple accidents and the road probably wouldn't reopen til morning. They haven't eaten since breakfast and didn't bring any food! Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts.

just got home........now where did I put the tylenol ........if I was a drinker tonight would be the night......28 kids sat on Santas lap...and 31 people participated in the Yankee swap and some didnt want to......all in all ....ALOT OF NOISE and chaos......as always to much food and alot went home....
For the swap, I ended up with a yankee candle and a book on 538 ways to relieve stress......I wonder if 539 was how to go thru five hours of chaos with the family....and hubby got our red towels that we brought....two bath, one hand and one washcloth.......a couple of bottles of liquor went thru the swap and also some wine....a beautiful wreath from LL bean too.....we had fun....as you can tell.
Megara missed us and hubby is laying on the floor with her.....

Marita your menu sounds great....and thanks for letting me know how you like the cheesecake.......isnt that the easiest thing to make? I like to do the blueberry topping but it was over 4.00 for a can of it.....so I opted for the cherry toppings last time.

pleasant dreams to you all and I will keep your family in our thoughts tonight for a safe journey and some food.....

Mari texted to let me know that they're finally moving again! Thank goodness. Hope they can get something to eat and find a place to stay or pull over to get some sleep.

Moo, thank goodness for movement again!

Pumba, sounds like a fun party

Mony, kids on the brink of teenagedom can be such a handful! But hang in there, this too will pass

I finally fell asleep for a nap just reclining on the couch, laying down would have knocked me out for hours.

Saturday night Live is just starting, so I think I will try to do some work while that is on. I also am recording the Wanda Sykes show.

First order of busiess: start dishewasher (that wont do much toward my goal of cleaning or Christmasifying...)

PS: Just order Julie and Julia on On Demand! Isn't technology wonderful????????

2 am update - My hubby and daughter have decided to drive through. Hopefully they'll be here when I wake up!

Cel - Thanks so much for the cute card!!! Very talented :thumbsup2

Peej - Thank you for the nice card too :)

Morning! I too need to start preping the house for Christmas Eve company.

translated: Laundry, declutter, vacuum, dust, and windows.

I did start with the kitchen as soon as I came downstairs and already having the counters clear is making things look promising. I did throw a load in before I went to bed. That's my way of "geting a jump on it".

Before I do anymore I must have my coffee.

I just might do Christmas cards this year. I haven't the last two years because of Holiday vacations and my school load. But like I said, I'm 95% done and so I think I can do it. Even today.

Hope the weary travelers return home safe Cheryl. I have a feeling there's a hot breakfast waiting for them.

Good morning everyone.

Did your family make it home this morning.??

I slept like a log...Tylenol helped I think. We did have fun just seeing all the family. Alivia was the cutest baby ever. She had a christmas sweater and skirt on and white tights. Six weeks old and it was fantastic seeing this little gift . All the family there (except my sister who is in Texas visiting her son and family) and my brother who lives in So.Dakota. Not bad for keeping part of our family in one state.
It is overcast this morning but I do believe that the big storm will just give us a few flurries. I REALLY dont like snow, but you all knew that..:rotfl:
Hubby made coffee this morning, always nice to wake up to coffee brewing.

Have a good day my friends.

Morning all,

Moo-- Hope your family got home safe. We are always scared when visiting my mom that we will get stuck for hours on the 401. There is always accidents or something. Always , always have a full tank of gas and snacks in the car, blankets. But I guess they didn't think a snow storm would hit hard.

Marita-- your menu sounds lovely. Are Yams the same as sweet potatoes?

Pumba -- On Christmas eve there will be at least 52 people in my mom's house , that doesn't include if any neices or nephews bring a date. It is crazy but a good crazy. Youngest will be 8 months.

Well off to church, then kids club then the kids and hubby will go skating while I will make another batch of cookies. Full day ahead.

Have a great Sunday!

Yay! My family finally made it home around 9:30!!! 27 hours for what normally is a 12 hour trip. They picked up donuts for breakfast. Don said Cash did amazingly well.

There was a bit of damage to the car's bumper. Hopefully Don can fix that.

Thanks for all the prayers and positive thoughts.

Moo that is great to hear they are home!

I didn't realize that they were in the accident. :scared1: They well be settling in for a long winters nap today.
