Nab, those cookies sound delicous!!

I have to go back to my old job tomorrow afternoon (shudder!!!!), but it happens to be cookie exchange day, where I think people bring in cookies for just anyone to taste, so maybe I will have a couple there.

Tuesday is our annual pot luck and white elephant gift exchange at work. I turned eggs on their sides tonight to spread the yolks. Sunday boil eggs, crack them and put them in fridge, Monday make the filling and get them ready. I got a big bottle of wine to hide in a carton. Been doing that for a few years, nobody ever knows what's in the box, and wine is always popular. Should be fun few hours. Right after that another Dr. appointment for yet another test, uggg!

DS called tonight, and said weather is downright balmy, although the Mississipi is frozen :confused3

Marita - Downright balmy probably means the temperature is out of the teens! It's been very cold (12 degrees right now . . . I think Twink's weather from the prairie reached us today), windy, and snowy here, but so far not too much accumulation. Just a couple inches, but I almost slid into the stop sign trying to stop to turn onto my road last night  Cannot pump anti-lock brakes. Dratted driver's training still has that ingrained in my subconscious!

Nabbie - Your cookies sound yummy! I went to an open house at work today and managed to get through it without eating any cookies. I couldn't find the chocolate/oatmeal no bakes that someone I know always makes, so they must have been eaten before I got there. I did have some peanut M&Ms instead this afternoon. Had to fuel up for water aerobics! ;)

Pumba - No humbug this time of year! :)

Hope everyone's staying warm. Get out your Snuggies!!!

Sorry about the weather Moo though I am glad to have it out of here. Fortunately we live just south of the snow line so we only got a few inches (and low temps and wind chills that put us in the negative teens- yowsers.)

I knew I was in the Real Midwest, when as I was driving on the highway to my dr apt the signs that usually announce how many minutes it will take you to get to certain places were instead saying

DO NOT TRAVEL TO IOWA OR NEBRASKA. BLIZZARD CONDITIONS PREVAIL.

I am 33 weeks today. The dr is thrilled with me (no wonder I like this guy)- low blood pressure, baby head down, nice heart beat and I continue to lose about .5 lb/week on my low carb, high protein diet.

NAB's cookie post did make me drool. Celery's and Peej's Cookie posts did not.

I had my last class on Wednesday AND did all my grading. Yeehaw:banana: Now all I need to do is write, proctor and grade the final. And turn in my grades and keys and books since I am officially not teaching next semester. :3dglasses

I have more decluttering and Christmasifying to do before family arrives. Not to mention shopping, wrapping, cooking, baking, and a partrigde in a pear tree.:santa:

Hi Moovers! :wave2: Long time, no yap! I do see some of you on FB occasionally, but it's good to see the whole gang! How has everyone been? I'm fine. Things are kind of craptastic this past year, but I'm still happy and healthy!

Everybody ready for Christmas?

Hi Bonnie!!!

Are you still teaching? You must just love this time of year. The kids are so excited.

Twinkie-- glad to hear you feeling good. I lost 8 pounds on my diet too when I was pregnant with Nicholas. It was a nice bonus but I sure did miss stuff.

Hubby was home today so I didn't get anything done...will have to return to my baking tonight. He is home now until after the holidays. Getting snow tires on my car as we speak before the next storm that rolls in on Tuesday they say.

OK fine, you all lost out on my long dissertation on macros I had to learn.

I know your collective thoughts kicked me out of the post from just sheer eyes glazing over.
Be that way, HRUMMMPPPPPPHHH:snooty:

Bonnie, Hi, nice of you to stop by, please stay longer next time and let us know whats happening. We are a nice bunch, really.

Twinkie, Yay for school almost being over! 6 is enough?????? Might keep you busy???? Congrats on the weight loss if thats a good thing.

Pumba, I still have to do eye drops 4 times a day, untill they are gone. I swear, these tiny bottles are endless, and soon I will have to start again for second eye.

DH got CD of Julie and Julia, so I'm going to watch that tomorrow if I can, before DH gets home to watch football on his TV. Sadly, neither one of us knows how to play DVD's on the big living room TV, LOL

yup those drops after cataract surgery are the pits......but as my husband YELLED at me (not really) but he put emphasis on the fact that I am lucky.....I have sight and I can see really good......so YES I will take that ........he always has a way to put everything in its right place.
Today I had a fasting blood test.......I was practically dizzy.....and Megara has not had her breakfast yet because she has a fasting blood test too with her thryoid pill at six thirty...so we are going for the three and a half hours after her pill test...so will be leaving in a few...She does not understand why her throat has been cut.....meaning where is my food.....I am starving...

Hope you all have a great day and weekend too....

by the way it is 17 degrees out.....a wee bit chilly.

It has been cold for the last few days but it is pretty nice today , even mild by winter standards here. :thumbsup2

Hubby, Hannah and I got our flu shot last night. The clinic wasn't busy and we thought we really should get them done. Nicholas was at the dance. Hannah was a real tropper. She wanted to cry you could tell but she didn't ,matter of fact the nurse had her count to 10 saying she would do it at 10 but had already had it done at 3 and she didn't feel it.

But over night she got sick. Fever, stomache ache. You are not suppose to get sick from the shot but it does say you could get a headache and fever. Swelling at the spot. :confused3 I feel sorry for doing that to her. :sad1:

So we are having a quite day in watching Christmas cartoons. Hubby and Nicholas went out looking at used trucks.

Pumba-- I hate having to fast for test. Hope yours turn out ok.

Marita-- I am not even going to ask what Macros are.....Is your tree up yet?

Nab, sorry about Hannah getting sick, poor girl. But hopefully it prevents more serious stuff later, or maybe it's something else??

DS called this morning before 8am Montana time. He is finally getting internet installed, it took the company almost 2 weeks before they could come out.
So anyway, you all know I always have this big Christmas party for the extended family at my house on Christmas Eve, but DS can't make it this year for the first time, sniff! So I just had the most fabulous idea!!

SKYPE!!!!
In case you haven't heard about it, it's like a webcam, but built in to PC (the camera, that is) and you just sign up for a free account and you get picture and sound on the PC. So we'll set up DH's laptop in the living room so he can see and be seen and chat with people. Same for Xmas morning.

I was all excited to tell DS about this idea and called him. He said, "Mom, that was already decided 2 weeks ago!" Why doesn't anybody ever tell me anything????? Sniff!

Well, at least he will be virtually home for Christmas. And hey, He could even show us a winterwonderland from Montana, LOL.

Skpe is what they use on Oprah all the time and other talk shows when the guests don't travel there....That will be nice to talk to him on Christmas Eve and morning. I know it isn't the same but at least you get to see him. Are you sending his present to him to open up on Skpe too.

I thougth it was something she ate or drank last night but when the fever came I ruled that out. She is feeling a bit better, she is singing Christmas carols with the radio and doing her class Christmas cards , so I think the advil kicked in.....:woohoo: Now to get her to eat.

oy oy oy.

Megara has another change in her Thyroid meds.....she has two antibiotics for her ear infection, and one steroid med.....so she was SUPER expensive today....but worth every penny .....as my husband keeps saying....When she IS shedding all over the place and I get fur coated ...he says....Thats LOVE......I do believe he is nuts.
THen my dishwasher is ruined......I did it ......I broke one glass a few months ago and I thought I got all the junk out and then I broke a corelle bowl in it and those splinter pretty darn good too....so that was in there too and the motor blew......so off to Lowes and got a new one.......we could of taken it home with us but if they deliver (for free) they take away the old one too.......so good thinking.....they are going to do us a favor....but I have to wait until Monday....so I will do my dishes by hand for a while.....

Hope Hannah is feeling better.......I did read in the newspaper that there were some reactions to the shots in canada....do they have a different supplier then most? They didnt mention US just Canada in that article.....that was a month ago I believe..

Poor doggie....

Yes our vaccine is made by a different company here. They had problems last month with a batch that caused some allergic reaction but that was all pulled off the shelves. They do warn us these may be some side effects. That and a sore arm. It is like when you get the tetnus shot. It hurts for awhile. I just hope this provents us from getting the flu or a really bad flu in the next few months. We did have to stay there for 15 minutes to see if we would have a reaction. They were pretty strict about that.

A new dishwasher for Christmas. How old was the last one. Maybe this is a good thing....

Pumba, new dishwasher, w00t! I did dishes mostly by hand for the last few months because we really don't have many, not cooking dinner and all.. But since I got my new one, we just rinse and store them in the dishwasher until its time to do a load.

NAB. yes, we are sending presents to DS to open. Which reminds me, I have to look and see where I put the electric blanket last year that I never used... Glad Hannah is feeling better. :thumbsup2

Celery, the check is in the mail. Check your mailbox Monday or Tuesday.

I'm making chili for dinner tonight, so I better get going on that soon, DH likes to eat early. Also need to vacuum, dang white, long haired cat!! GRRR, and order a present for DH and a cookie cookbook for DD and some flannel pajamas for DS.

Dreary again outside today, what's with that lately, always on weekend? :confused3 Looks like it wants to rain. Luckily I dont have to go anywhere today, I was going to get nails done, but decided it can wait another week.

Monday I move into my new office, finally. So far I have been sitting at a spare desk. Hope the computer that got dropped works...

It's raining here too, Marital. And only 34 degrees. I'd much rather have your temperature!
We are heading to SE Michigan to go to the IKEA store.

Nabbie - I hope Hannah is feeling better today.

Everybody - Have a nice Sunday!!!

Hannah is feeling better thanks.

They are going skating in a few minutes with there dad. I think I am going to have a nap. I have a slight headache that I want to get rid of.

Thinking of going to see the new Disney movie tonight too if my headache goes away. It might be to busy since it just came out but we shall see.

Moo-- we have rain/sleet here right now. Very dreary day. What are you going to IKEA for? I haven't been to one in years. I think the last time was to buy the kids table and chairset....lol That was really a long time ago, but still have the set, yellow table with a blue chair and red chair which is at the end of my bed because it hasn't made it to the basement yet.....

morning everyone

Today I go to the Diabetic Doctor.....have not been to him ever. SO I am a little nervous about this....My morning BS's have been good lately so I am hoping that I am being good and keeping them better under control...weight is still the same but my sugars are better....hahaha.

Today the dishwasher is or was supposed to be delivered.....I have to call and tell them to wait until this afternoon or deliver tomorrow....cant do both...go to the doctors and be here for delivery........oy oy oy......to much going on.

Sun is out and the snow and rain and freezing sleet is slowly becoming MUSH.......I hate winter and snow but you guys already knew that......(:rotfl:)

Peej: When I was in Kindergarten the aides left the salamandors on the heating vent Friday and by Monday the room smelled worse than the Lizard exhibit on a hot summers' day at the zoo.

We actually went outside, dug a hole under the window and burried them. I think we did that only because how horrible the room smelled. Anything to get out of there.

I am so not into the swing of things. I need more time to adjust back to "real life". Cause it was nice NOT doing ANYTHING while on vacation, but sit my butt in a chair and was waited on hand and foot. Well, I did have to get up to jump in the pool to cool off, but other than that, nothing.

See you all around! Bus stop time.

Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood, its a wonderful day to be ME.....yes it is...
My numbers and all my info to the diabetes specialist (easier to spell then the type of doctor he is), he said I am doing pretty darn good.......I do need to shed a few pounds......and when I told him I gained some weight during our visits to Disney he said World and I said yes.........he loves Disney and stayed at the Beach Club....He is going to a convention in June and will stay on and visit the World......told him there was so much more to see then the last time he was there....so he is ready....
Anyways, no meds now and told me to keep up the good work.....I am sooooo excited.....after that went shopping with my dil and granddaughter. Then out to the chinese restaurant for lunch.......yup I deserve it.....

Dishwasher was delivered at two thirty and hubby is fixing it as I type.......YES I cna put the supper dishes in that and I dont have to do them by hand..
Have a good evening my friends

pumba - Great news from the doctor!

keep up the good work!

I'm working on my cards.
I have a confession.
I want to please the martha stewart of bawston.
I triple checked the card I put in her envelope.
